A novel machine‐learning method to distinguish between tumor and normal tissue in optical coherence tomography (OCT) has been developed. Pre‐clinical murine ear model implanted with mouse colon carcinoma CT‐26 was used. Structural‐image‐based feature sets were defined for each pixel and machine learning classifiers were trained using “ground truth” OCT images manually segmented by comparison with histology. The accuracy of the OCT tumor segmentation method was then quantified by comparing with fluorescence imaging of tumors expressing genetically encoded fluorescent protein KillerRed that clearly delineates tumor borders. Because the resultant 3D tumor/normal structural maps are inherently co‐registered with OCT derived maps of tissue microvasculature, the latter can be color coded as belonging to either tumor or normal tissue. Applications to radiomics‐based multimodal OCT analysis are envisioned.   相似文献

In microplot field experiments conducted over the course of 12 years, the accumulation of dry matter was recorded in the leaves, stems, and ears of the primary shoots of plants of four cultivars of spring wheat (Triticum aestivumL.) differing in productivity and drought resistance. The contribution of organs to the accumulation of dry matter by the shoot from emergence to anthesis was calculated, and relative changes in the weight of the ear after anthesis were assessed. In all the cultivars, the contribution of the leaves was the same; however, the share of the ear was greater in short-stem cultivars of the intensive type in which the leaves were more active during the time of grain filling. Furthermore, this load increased, and the relative increment in the ear weight after flowering decreased in the years of drought, because the contribution of the leaves did not depend on water supply during the growing season. During these years, the contribution of the ear increased in the plants of all the cultivars. The authors conclude that, in arid regions, in addition to drought resistance, the cultivar should display such a ratio between the ear weight and the weight of leaves that would still ensure satisfactory grain filling  相似文献

An increased interest in neuroinflammation is conditioned by its involvement in various pathological processes in the brain. Astrocytes play an important role in neuroinflammation, participating in its regulation, throwing out a large number of signaling molecules. Steroid compounds, actively produced by astrocytes, are of interest with regards to the regulation of inflammatory processes in the central nervous system. In the present work the effect of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) on astroglial cells (cultured primary rat astrocytes) in a model of inflammation was studied. The inflammatory response was stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Expression levels of pro-inflammatory factor TNFα, antinflammatory interleukin IL-10, and both pro- and antiinflammatory protein COX-2 were measured. The expression of IL-10, COX-2, and TNFα mRNA was determined by real-time PCR, COX-2 protein level by immunoblotting method, TNFα and IL-10 release by enzyme immunoassay. The effect of short-term (30 min) and long-term (24 h) exposure to DHEA was evaluated. It was shown that DHEA potentiates LPS-stimulated (1) increase in the IL-10 mRNA level; (2) IL-10 release; (3) does not affect TNFα level, and (4) exerts a weak pulsating bidirectional effect on COX-2. Using trilostane, an inhibitor of 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase, a key enzyme of DHEA metabolism, it was shown that DHEA metabolites make the main contribution to its effect. Thus, DHEA is of interest as a stimulant of anti-inflammatory processes in the brain.  相似文献

The content of shikimic acid in the vegetative parts of a number of plants growing in the Altai Territory has been studied. The greatest content of shikimic acid (about 1.5%) was found in the coniferous needles of Scots pine. Shikimic acid accumulated in buckwheat cells cultivated in vitro on glyphosate-containing medium. The best results were obtained with buckwheat explants cultivated in vitro on Murashige and Skoog nutrient medium in the presence of 0.5 × 10?3 mg/L of glyphosate.  相似文献
