An analysis of the results of the examination and treatment of 379 patients undergoing transthoracic interventions showed that the use of the target-aimed selective immunomodulation, short-term antibacterial prophylaxis, inhibitors of arachidonic acid metabolites, active elimination of the circulating immune complexes and medium-weight molecular peptides and adequate local analgesia after the interventions providing normalization of the laryngeal reflex and early activation of the patients permitted the incidence of the pulmonary complications to be decreased by 2.5 times, pleural complications by 1.7 times, suppuration of the postoperative wound by 1.8 times and the total expenses by 25.6 per cent. 相似文献

The work was focused on the investigation of possible dependencies between the development of viral infection in plants and the presence of high heavy metal concentrations in soil. Field experiments have been conducted in order to study the development of systemic tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) infection in Lycopersicon esculentum L. cv. Miliana plants under effect of separate salts of heavy metals Cu, Zn and Pb deposited in soil. As it is shown, simultaneous effect of viral infection and heavy metals in tenfold maximum permissible concentration leads to decrease of total chlorophyll content in experiment plants mainly due to the degradation of chlorophyll a. The reduction of chlorophyll concentration under the combined influence of both stress factors was more serious comparing to the separate effect of every single factor. Plants' treatment with toxic concentrations of lead and zinc leaded to slight delay in the development of systemic TMV infection together with more than twofold increase of virus content in plants that may be an evidence of synergism between these heavy metal's and virus' effects. Contrary, copper although decreased total chlorophyll content but showed protective properties and significantly reduced amount of virus in plants. 相似文献

The influence of the alpha diversity of communities on the appearance rates of new species may be either positive (due to
coevolution and niche construction) or negative (due to community saturation). The development of global paleontological databases
allows the extrapolation of the analysis of these effects to past geological epochs. To assess the effect of alpha diversity

The accumulation of steviol glycosides (SGs) in cells of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni both in vivo and in vitro was related to the extent of the development of the membrane system of chloroplasts and the content of photosynthetic pigments.
Chloroplasts of the in vitro plants, unlike those of the intact plants, had poorly developed membrane system. The callus cells grown in the light contained
proplastids of almost round shape and their thylakoid system was represented by short thylakoids sometimes forming a little
number of grana consisting of 2–3 thylakoids. In cells of the etiolated in vitro regenerants and the callus culture grown in the dark, only proplastids practically lacking the membrane system were observed.
All the chloroplasts having developed thylakoids and forming at least a little number of grana were equipped with photochemically
active reaction centers of photosystems 1 and 2. Leaves of in vivo plants accumulated greater amount of the pigments than leaves of the in vitro plants. In both the callus culture grown in the light and the etiolated in vitro regenerants, the content of the pigments was one order of magnitude lower than that in leaves of the intact plants. The callus
tissue grown in the dark contained merely trace amounts of the pigments. Leaves of the intact and the in vitro plants did not exhibit any significant differences in photosynthetic O2 evolution rate. However, photosynthetic O2 evolution rate in the callus cells was much lower than that in the differentiated plant cells. The in vitro cell cultures containing merely proplastids did not practically produce SGs. However, after transferring these cultures in

Gap junctions arc intercellular, water-filled channels composed of transmembrane proteins called connexins, six of which are arranged radially and dock with six homologous proteins in an adjacent cell to form an approximate 16 A pore. Through this pore cell-to-cell transfer of small water-soluble molecules up to about 1000 daltons occurs along concentration gradients. Connexins comprise a multigene family that share consensus sequences in the trans-membrane domains and the first and second extracellular loops. Comparison of the protein sequences of known human connexins with the draft nucleotide sequence of the human genome revealed two clones from chromosome 6 which showed strong similarity to highly conserved connexin sequences. Detailed analysis revealed the presence of a 672 nt open reading frame in these clones, encoding a 223 amino acid polypeptide with a predicted molecular weight of about 25 kD. This is smaller than other known human connexins. The ORF of the potential connexin25 was amplified by semi-nested PCR using human genomic DNA as a template. To confirm that this new gene encodes a connexin, Cx25 was transfected into a gap junction deficient subclone of the human HeLa cell line. After selection of transformants, cells were microinjected with the fluorescent dye Lucifer yellow. In studying the pathogenicity of nonagglutinating vibrios it was established that the majority of the strains isolated from the patients suffering from enteritis possessed enteropathogenic properties which were revealed in the trials on nursling rabbits and on the isolated intestinal loop a of an adult rabbit. In difference to the cholera vibryos, these microorganisms produced no typical cholerogenicity syndrome expressing, however, a number of enteropathogenic properties: caused diarrhea, overfilling of the intestine with fluid, etc. Autopsy showed a typical enterocolitis picture, confirmed by histological studies. Nonagglutinating vibrio cultures isolated from the water and from healthy persons possessed no enteropathogenic properties. An isolated intestinal loop of an adult rabbit proved to be the most sensitive experimental model. 相似文献
