YOLDIELLA SEGUENZAE, A NEW SPECIES OF NUCULANIDAE (BIVALVIA; NUCULOIDA) FROM THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA

A new species, Yoldiella seguenzae (Bivalvia, Nucu-loida), froma deep sea community off the north east coast of Sardinia (MediterraneanSea), is described. Morphometrical and statistical comparisonwith the very similar Yoldiella philippiana (Nyst, 1845), andgeneral morphological comparison with other Mediterranean andAtlantic species support the distinc-tivness of Y. seguenzaewhich is distributed in deep waters of the Central MediterraneanSea, Alboran Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
