The study aimed at determining the incidence of autoantibodies occurrence in the course of autoimmunological diseases of the thyroid gland and in healthy population. Autoantibodies against various structures were assayed, including: cellular nuclei, smooth muscles, mitochondria, biliary tubules, parietal cells, reticular fibres, striated muscles as well as thyroglobulin and thyroid microsomes. The study involved 63 patients with autoimmunological diseases of the thyroid gland (35 patients with Graves-Basedow disease and 28 patients with Hashimoto's disease) and 30 healthy individuals. Thyroid antimicrosomal and antithyroglobulin antibodies were assayed with RIA in stable phase whereas the remaining antibodies--with multifunctional indirect immunofluorescence test. The obtained results are the following: antimicrosomal antibodies were present in 68.3% cases while antithyroglobulin antibodies in 76.2% of the examined patients with autoimmunological diseases of the thyroid gland. Immunofluorescence tests performed in the same group have shown antinuclear antibodies in 13% of cases, antibodies against smooth muscles in 28.6%, antimitochondrial antibodies in 1.6%, antibodies against biliary tubules in 3.4%, antibodies against parietal cells in 11.1%, antibodies against reticular fibres in 7.9%, and antibodies against striated muscles in 9.5% of cases. Antinuclear antibodies, antibodies against smooth muscles, and antibodies against both thyroidal microsome and thyroglobulin (in 3.3%) were the only antibodies found in the control group. 相似文献

Heat shock proteins (Hsp) are highly conserved immunomodulatory molecules upregulated when cells are exposed to stressful stimuli, such as inflammation. Their involvement in various autoimmune diseases, including autoimmune bullous diseases and celiac disease, has been increasingly recognized. To further study the role of Hsp in autoimmune bullous diseases, we have investigated for the first time the humoral autoimmune response to Hsp40, Hsp60, Hsp70, and Hsp90 in patients with dermatitis herpetiformis (DH; n = 26), bullous pemphigoid (BP; n = 23), and pemphigus vulgaris (PV; n = 16), the first representing a cutaneous manifestation of celiac disease. While in patients with active BP and PV, serum levels of autoantibodies against these Hsp did not differ from the corresponding age- and gender-matched healthy controls (n = 9–14); circulating autoantibodies against Hsp60, Hsp70, and Hsp90 were found to be increased at the active disease stage of DH. Further analysis of this latter patient subgroup showed that these anti-Hsp autoantibodies decreased in parallel with serum autoantibodies against epidermal and tissue transglutaminase during remission of skin lesions following a gluten-free diet, revealing significantly positive correlations. Although further studies on larger groups of patients will be needed to confirm the present data, our results support the notion that autoantibodies against Hsp60, Hsp70, and Hsp90 deserve attention in the study of the mechanisms that promote the development and maintenance of DH and possibly also the underlying celiac disease as well as potential novel disease biomarkers. 相似文献

The effectiveness of therapy involving intravenous administration of methimazole applied in patients with hyperthyroidism resistant to oral thyrostatic drugs has been investigated. Methimazole (Favistan, Asta) was administered intravenously to 3 patients (two women and one man, of ages 21, 24 and 67 years, respectively) in whom there was no remission of the disease after oral methimazole therapy lasting at least two months. Blood serum concentrations of thyroxine (T4), triiodothyronine (T3), reverse++ triiodothyronine (rT3) and triiodothyronine binding index (T3I) have been measured and free thyroxine index (FT4I) calculated before the treatment and on the 4-th, 7-th, 11-th, 14-th and 17-th day of the treatment. The mean value of T4 concentration decreased from 17.0 micrograms/dl before the treatment to 9.7 micrograms/dl after the treatment. T3 from 352 to 177 ng/dl, rT3 from 114 to 103ng/dl the value of T3I from 183 to 161%, and that of FT4I from 30 to 17, respectively. A significant fall of T3 level was observed on the 11-th day of the therapy, that of rT3 on the 14-th day, and that of FT4I on the seventh day. It was concluded that the resistance of some patients with hyperthyroidism to the oral thyreostatic therapy may be caused by the defective absorption of these drugs from the intestinal tract. 相似文献
