Between 2018 and 2020, 696 fish belonging to two species of sharks from the Family Triakidae (Mustelus mustelus and M. punctulatus) were collected from the coasts of Tunisia and inspected for parasites. Six copepod taxa (Perissopus dentatus Steenstrup & Lütken, 1861, Eudactylinella alba Wilson, 1932, Kroyeria lineata Van Beneden, 1853, Nesippus orientalis Heller, 1865 and Lernaeopoda galei Krøyer, 1837, Kroyeria sp.), four isopod species (Anilocra physodes (Linnaeus, 1758), Emetha audouini (H. Milne Edwards, 1840), Ceratothoa parallela (Otto, 1828) and Ceratothoa oestroides (Risso, 1816)) and two monogenean species (Erpocotyle sp1. And Erpocotyle sp2) were collected. A large number of global host records was reported, including the occurrence of E. audouini on M. mustelus and of Erpocotyle sp.2 on M. punctulatus. The study of the diversity of parasites per host species revealed that M. mustelus had a higher parasitic richness compared to M. punctulatus. In this study, it was provided for the first records on ectoparasites on Triakidae sharks from Tunisian coasts and their infection indices.  相似文献

At 0°C, when Na+ was the only cation present in the incubation medium, increasing the Na+ concentration from 3 to 10 mM enhanced the affinity of [3H]l-[2-(di-phenylmethoxy)ethyl]-4-(3-phenyl-2-propenyl)piperazine ([3H]GBR 12783) for the specific binding site present in rat striatal membranes without affecting the 5max. For higher Na+ concentrations, specific binding values plateaued and then slightly decreased at 130 mM Na+. In a 10 mM Na+ medium, the KD and the Bmax were, respectively, 0.23 nM and 12.9 pmol/mg of protein. In the presence of 0.4 nM [3H]GBR 12783, the half-maximal specific binding occurred at 5 mM Na+. A similar Na+ dependence was observed at 20°C. Scatchard plots indicated that K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, and Tris+ acted like competitive inhibitors of the specific binding of [3H]GBR 12783. The inhibitory potency of various cations (K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Tris+, Li+ and choline) was enhanced when the Na+ concentration was decreased from 130 to 10 mM. In a 10 mM Na+ medium, the rank order of inhibitory potency was Ca2+ (0.13 mM) > Mg2+ > Tris+ > K+ (15 mM). The requirement for Na+ was rather specific, because none of the other cations acted as a substitute for Na+. No anionic requirement was found: Cl-, Br-, and F- were equipotent. These results suggest that low Na+ concentrations are required for maximal binding; higher Na+ concentrations protect the specific binding site against the inhibitory effect of other cations.  相似文献

Abstract: Excessive activation of N-methyl-d -aspartate (NMDA) receptor channels (NRs) is a major cause of neuronal death associated with stroke and ischemia. Cerebellar granule neurons in vivo, but not in culture, are relatively resistant to toxicity, possibly owing to protective effects of glia. To evaluate whether NR-mediated signaling is modulated when developing neurons are cocultured with glia, the neurotoxic responses of rat cerebellar granule cells to applied NMDA or glutamate were compared in astrocyte-rich and astrocyte-poor cultures. In astrocyte-poor cultures, significant neurotoxicity was observed in response to NMDA or glutamate and was inhibited by an NR antagonist. Astrocyte-rich neuronal cultures demonstrated three significant differences, compared with astrocyte-poor cultures: (a) Neuronal viability was increased; (b) glutamate-mediated neurotoxicity was decreased, consistent with the presence of a sodium-coupled glutamate transport system in astrocytes; and (c) NMDA- but not kainate-mediated neurotoxicity was decreased, in a manner that depended on the relative abundance of glia in the culture. Because glia do not express NRs or an NMDA transport system, the mechanism of protection is distinct from that observed in response to glutamate. No differences in NR subunit composition (evaluated using RT-PCR assays for NR1 and NR2 subunit mRNAs), NR sensitivity (evaluated by measuring NR-mediated changes in intracellular Ca2+ levels), or glycine availability as a coagonist (evaluated in the presence and absence of exogenous glycine) were observed between astrocyte-rich and astrocyte-poor cultures, suggesting that glia do not directly modulate NR composition or function. Nordihydroguaiaretic acid, a lipoxygenase inhibitor, blocked NMDA-mediated toxicity in astrocyte-poor cultures, raising the possibility that glia effectively reduce the accumulation of highly diffusible and toxic arachidonic acid metabolites in neurons. Alternatively, glia may alter neuronal development/phenotype in a manner that selectively reduces susceptibility to NR-mediated toxicity.  相似文献

The nucleotide sequences of a specific region of the glycoprotein gene were compared among 63 strains of viral haemorrhagic septicaemia virus (VHSV) isolated from fish in France between 1971 and 1999. The analysis was performed on a region corresponding to amino acids 238 to 331 of the glycoprotein gene, also designated the V2 region and previously shown to accumulate most of the mutations. The sequences of many VHSV isolates were found to be identical or very conserved. An isolate, designated L59X, obtained from elver in the Loire estuary, depicted a higher degree of divergence compared to the other French isolates. The deduced amino-acid sequences were analysed together with the results of neutralisation tests performed using monoclonal antibody 168m4 specific to serotype 1. Non-neutralised VHSV strains had mutations in the region corresponding to the previously described 168m4 epitope. Phylogenetic analysis showed that all the VHSV isolates studied, except L59X, belong to genotype I, previously described as containing VHSV strains isolated from continental Europe. Most of the VHSV isolates studied were found to be genetically related to one of the previously described VHSV strains representative of the major serotypes. Isolate L59X, which was the only French marine strain studied, was found to belong to genotype II, previously shown to encompass the VHSV strains isolated from the British Isles coastal waters. Overall there was a good correlation between the geographical origin of the studied isolates and their genetic characteristics.  相似文献
