The application of lithium (Li) metal anodes in rechargeable batteries is primarily restricted by Li dendrite growth on the metal's surface, which leads to shortened cycle life and safety concerns. Herein, well‐spaced nanotubes with ultrauniform surface curvature are introduced as a Li metal anode structure. The ultrauniform nanotubular surface generates uniform local electric fields that evenly attract Li‐ions to the surface, thereby inducing even current density distribution. Moreover, the well‐defined nanotube spacing offers Li diffusion pathways to the electroactive areas as well as the confined spaces to host deposited Li. These structural attributes create a unique electrodeposition manner; i.e., Li metal homogenously deposits on the nanotubular wall, causing each Li nanotube to grow in circumference without obvious sign of dendritic formation. Thus, the full‐cell battery with the spaced Li nanotubes exhibits a high specific capacity of 132 mA h g?1 at 1 C and an excellent coulombic efficiency of ≈99.85% over 400 cycles.  相似文献

2-(6-Chloropurinyl)-3-benzoyloxymethylcyclobutanone can be prepared by reaction of 6-chloropurine with 3-benzoyloxymethyl-2-bromocyclobutanone. The N-alkylation gave both N-9 and N-7 regioisomers. Both regioisomers upon hydride reduction followed by aminolysis gave the corresponding adenine nucleoside analogues. However, the N-7 series led to the hypoxanthine analogues as byproducts.  相似文献

Obesity, insulin resistance, and hyperandrogenism are considered crucial parameters of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) which might be related to vitamin D metabolism. The aim of this study was to investigate the associations between polymorphisms (TaqI and ApaI) in the vitamin D receptor gene (VDR) and PCOS among Egyptian women. We aimed also to elucidate the impact of these polymorphisms on vitamin D level, hormonal and metabolic parameters of PCOS. One hundred and fifty Egyptian women with PCOS and 150 unrelated controls were enrolled in this study. Polymorphisms of VDR Taq-I T/C (rs731236) and Apa-I A/C (rs7975232) gene were genotyped using polymerase chain reaction restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR–RFLP). Serum 25 hydroxy vitamin D [25(OH) D] levels were measured by high-performance liquid chromatography. PCOS women had significantly lower levels of 25(OH) D compared to healthy women. Our results revealed that Taq-I CC genotype and C allele were associated with increased risk of PCOS, while the Apa-I polymorphism was not. Haplotype Taq-I C/ Apa-I C was associated with a higher PCOS risk more than controls. Moreover, there was a significant decrease of 25(OH) D levels in carriers of haplotype Taq-I C/ Apa-I C (with variant alleles) compared to the non-carriers. Results showed also that there was an obesity- VDR Taq-I genotypes interactions. These results suggested that, VDR Taq-I gene polymorphism is associated with increased risk of PCOS in Egyptian women.  相似文献

Cephalosporin‐resistant Escherichia coli has been increasingly reported worldwide. In this study, 32 cephalosporin resistant E. coli isolates identified from cancer patients in Cairo, Egypt in 2009–2010 were analyzed. Twenty‐three were of phylogenetic group D, seven A and one each B1 and B2. By rep‐PCR 15 phylogroup D isolates were grouped in four clusters, one with sequence type (ST) 405 and three ST68. Seventeen isolates showed single patterns. blaCTX‐M‐15 and aac(6')‐Ib‐cr were the most common resistance determinants. blaOXA‐48 and blaVIM were also detected. Multidrug resistant E. coli seriously affects healthcare, especially in immunocompromised hosts, such as cancer patients.  相似文献

Aims

The present study is designed to evaluate the in vitro and in vivo bactericidal and immunomodulating activities of hesperidin (HES) and ellagic acid (EA) against Aeromonas hydrophila. A hydrophila, an uncommon human pathogen, can cause invasive infections in immunocompromised individuals and common clinical presentations in acute gastrointestinal illness, soft-tissue infections and sepsis. The antimicrobial activities of medicinal plants against A. hydrophila have received only cursory attention.

Methods

We examined the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) values in vitro. Moreover, the effects of HES and EA against bacterial colonization were studied in vivo. Also, humoral immune response was tested against A. hydrophila-LPS or A. hydrophila-ECP antigen preparations and the intestinal histopathological alterations were studied.

Results

Data revealed that the treatments with HES and EA each had antimicrobial activities against A. hydrophila. Both HES and EA treatments significantly increased anti-LPS IgM levels and reduced anti-LPS and anti-ECP IgA levels to their normal values in comparison to the infected group, which recorded significantly elevated levels two week post-infection. In conclusion, the present data suggest that HES and EA have antimicrobial and immunomodulating activities against murine A. hydrophila infections.

Significant

These data warrant clinical studies to delineate HES and EA roles in human infectious diseases.  相似文献

Impaired autophagy in macrophages promotes inflammatory eye disease   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Autophagy is critical for maintaining cellular homeostasis. Organs such as the eye and brain are immunologically privileged. Here, we demonstrate that autophagy is essential for maintaining ocular immune privilege. Deletion of multiple autophagy genes in macrophages leads to an inflammation-mediated eye disease called uveitis that can cause blindness. Loss of autophagy activates inflammasome-mediated IL1B secretion that increases disease severity. Inhibition of caspase activity by gene deletion or pharmacological means completely reverses the disease phenotype. Of interest, experimental uveitis was also increased in a model of Crohn disease, a systemic autoimmune disease in which patients often develop uveitis, offering a potential mechanistic link between macrophage autophagy and systemic disease. These findings directly implicate the homeostatic process of autophagy in blinding eye disease and identify novel pathways for therapeutic intervention in uveitis.  相似文献

Spermatogenesis is a complex and highly regulated process by which spermatogonial stem cells differentiate into spermatozoa. To better understand the molecular mechanisms of the process, the Cre/loxP system has been widely utilized for conditional gene knockout in mice. In this study, we generated a transgenic mouse line that expresses Cre recombinase under the control of the 2.5 kbp of the Prolactin family 3, subfamily b, member 1 (Prl3b1) gene promoter (Prl3b1‐cre). Prl3b1 was initially reported to code for placental lactogen 2 (PL‐2) protein in placenta along with increased expression toward the end of pregnancy. PL‐2 was found to be expressed in germ cells in the testis, especially in spermatocytes. To analyze the specificity and efficiency of Cre recombinase activity in Prl3b1‐cre mice, the mice were mated with reporter R26GRR mice, which express GFP ubiquitously before and tdsRed exclusively after Cre recombination. The systemic examination of Prl3b1‐cre;R26GRR mice revealed that tdsRed‐positive cells were detected only in the testis and epididymis. Fluorescence imaging of Prl3b1‐cre;R26GRR testes suggested that Cre‐mediated recombination took place in the germ cells with approximately 74% efficiency determined by in vitro fertilization. Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) (EC 1.2.1.12),a key enzyme ofcarbon metabolism,was purified and characterized to homogeneity from skeletal muscle of Camelusdromedarius.The protein was purified approximately 26.8 folds by conventional ammonium sulphatefractionation followed by Blue Sepharose CL-6B chromatography,and its physical and kinetic propertieswere investigated.The native protein is a homotetramer with an apparent molecular weight of approximately146 kDa.Isoelectric focusing analysis showed the presence of only one GAPDH isoform with an isoelectricpoint of 7.2.The optimum pH of the purified enzyme was 7.8.Studies on the effect of temperature onenzyme activity revealed an optimal value of approximately 28-32 ℃ with activation energy of 4.9 kcal/mol.The apparent K_m values for NAD~ and DL-glyceraldehyde-3-phophate were estimated to be 0.025±0.040mM and 0.21±0.08 mM, respectively. The V_(max) of the purified protein was estimated to be 52.7±5.9 U/mg.These kinetic parameter values were different from those described previously, reflecting protein differencesbetween species.  相似文献

Haptoglobin (Hp) polymorphism generates three common human genotypes (Hp1-1, Hp2-1, and Hp2-2), having functional differences, related to the risk of development of cardiovascular diseases. These functions are a consequence of hemoglobin binding that leads to the synthesis of an antioxidant like ferritin. We explored the association of Hp polymorphism with significant coronary stenosis (SCS) and its severity within 400 Tunisian patients, using genotyping, biochemical parameters, and the Gensini score. After adjustments for age and gender, Hp2-2 was associated with the highest ferritin but the lowest Hp concentrations. After adjustments for confounding parameters, the OR of SCS associated with Hp2-2 was 1.74 (95% CI 1.18–2.58; p = 0.005). This effect was enhanced within diabetics (OR 1.90, 95% CI 1.11–3.24; p = 0.018), obese subjects (OR 1.98, 95% CI 1.10–4.86; p = 0.034), and smokers (OR 4.17, 95% CI 1.54–1.29; p = 0.005). The Hp2-2 genotype is associated with an increase in SCS especially in diabetics, the obese, and smokers.  相似文献
