Bletilla striata (Thunb.) Reichb.f. is a perennial herb with abundant active ingredients. Previous research mainly focused on its tubers, however, the study on flowers, especially the variation of active ingredient contents at different flowering stages, was rarely seen. This study analyzed the total phenols, flavonoids, polysaccharides, anthocyanins, and cyanidin-3-O-glucoside content of B. striata flowers which were in cultivated in Herb Garden of Zhejiang A&F University and collected in May, 2019, in order to investigate the changes in active ingredients and antioxidant capacity among different flowering stages (bud, initial, and full bloom). Changes in radical scavenging capability of DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical), ABTS (2,2′-azinobis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonate)), and hydroxy were analyzed. Significant differences in active ingredient content of flowers were detected among different flowering stages. The total phenolic content increased continuously during the entire flowering stage. The contents of total flavonoid, total polysaccharide, and cyanidin-3-O-glucoside reached peaks at the initial blooming stage and then fell as the flowering process continued. The antioxidant activity in initial stage was the highest than in any other flowering stages. Therefore, we conclude that the initial blooming stage is the best harvesting stage of B. striata flowers. This study provides a robust basis for the harvest and utilization of B. striata flowers in food, medical, and cosmetic industries. 相似文献

Sphaerospora epinepheli n. sp. is described from grouper, Epinephelus malabaricus , in cage-cultured and wild fish collected from both coastal lines of southern Thailand. Subspherical to spherical spores and mono- or disporous pseudoplasmodia were observed in the lumen of kidney tubules. Pseudoplasmodia were round to elongate, size range 15.6–22.9 μm (length) × 8.4–21.6 μm (width). Spores were 7.8–10.0 μm (length) × 12.3–14.5 μm (thickness), and 7.0–9.5 μm (width) with two spherical polar capsules of equal size measuring 2.9–4.4 μm in diameter and containing polar filaments with six or seven windings. Two uninucleate sporoplasms showed iodine vacuoles. Blood stages, similar to C-blood protozoans observed from freshwater fish in Europe, were found from peripheral blood smears of grouper. Ultrastructural studies of blood stages showed a similar structure to unidentified mobile protozoans from the blood of carp. Electron dense bodies were observed in the cytoplasm of the primary cell blood stages. Infected proximal-tubular epithelial cells showed highly vacuolated cytoplasm and pycnotic nuclei. 相似文献

The spatial distribution of dormant copepodids of 3 species of cyclopoid copepods — Cyclops vicinus, Mesocyclops leuckarti and Thermocyclops crassus — was studied in 4 small lakes in South Germany. The rate of emergence from diapause and times from the resting stage to adulthood and from adulthood to the appearance of the first clutch was studied at 4 constant temperatures (5, 10, 15, 20 °C) in the laboratory. Resting stages of C. vicinus were always concentrated in the deepest parts of the lakes and were found relatively deep in the mud. M. leuckarti- and T. crassus-copepodids preferred shallow areas in deep lakes but were concentrated in the deep areas in shallow lakes. Copepodids of both species were always concentrated in the uppermost mud layers.Rate of emergence from diapause was strongly temperature-dependent. At high temperatures (20 °C) copepodids of all species under study emerged within 2 weeks. At lower temperatures C. vicinus copepodids showed the highest rate of emergence. At 5 to 10 °C only few M. leuckarti- and T. crassus-copepodids had emerged after the investigation period (7 weeks). Both C. vicinus and T. crassus showed the highest rate of emergence at the natural end of diapause but even at that time only few T. crassus-copepodids emerged at 5 °C. Times to adulthood at 5 °C were shortest in C. vicinus. At higher temperatures this species was passed by M. leuckarti. Times from adulthood to the appearance of the first clutch at 5–15 °C were shortest in C. vicinus. T. crassus produced no clutch at 5 and 10 °C. 相似文献

Proteins of erythrocytic stages of Plasmodium falciparum were biosynthetically labeled at different times during the first cycle of in vitro synchronous cultivation after collection from patients in the Madang region of Papua New Guinea. Proteins were immunoprecipitated with a pool of hyperimmune serum collected in the region then analyzed by sodium dodecyl sulfate-gel electrophoresis. Antigens were recognized in all life cycle stages but the majority of antigens, particularly those of high molecular weight, were present in the mature forms of the parasite. 相似文献

Two radiometers measuring reflectance factors have been used at a height of 1.50 m above some grasslands in C. France. The results show that both spectral data are sensitive to the photosynthetic activity of the grassland. Measurements made in April, May, June and July show that grasslands have quite different spectral behaviour according to soil conditions or to grazing level. Grasslands on dry or wet soils may be separated from those of normal soils for which overgrazing and trampling affecting the growth of species, are shown by the different spectral values. Plant diseases bear names such as leaf blights, root rots, sheath blights, tuber scabs, and stem cankers, indicating that symptoms occur preferentially on specific parts of host plants. Accordingly, many plant pathogens are specialized to infect and cause disease in specific tissues and organs. Conversely, others are able to infect a range of tissues, albeit often disease symptoms fluctuate in different organs infected by the same pathogen. The structural specificity of a pathogen defines the degree to which it is reliant on a given tissue, organ, or host developmental stage. It is influenced by both the microbe and the host but the processes shaping it are not well established. Here we review the current status on structural specificity of plant–filamentous pathogen interactions and highlight important research questions. Notably, this review addresses how constitutive defence and induced immunity as well as virulence processes vary across plant organs, tissues, and even cells. A better understanding of the mechanisms underlying structural specificity will aid targeted approaches for plant health, for instance by considering the variation in the nature and the amplitude of defence responses across distinct plant organs and tissues when performing selective breeding. 相似文献

The planktonic marine diatom Skeletonema marinoi forms resting stages, which can survive for decades buried in aphotic, anoxic sediments and resume growth when re-exposed to light, oxygen, and nutrients. The mechanisms by which they maintain cell viability during dormancy are poorly known. Here, we investigated cell-specific nitrogen (N) and carbon (C) assimilation and survival rate in resting stages of three S. marinoi strains. Resting stages were incubated with stable isotopes of dissolved inorganic N (DIN), in the form of 15N-ammonium (NH4+) or -nitrate (NO3−) and dissolved inorganic C (DIC) as 13C-bicarbonate (HCO3−) under dark and anoxic conditions for 2 months. Particulate C and N concentration remained close to the Redfield ratio (6.6) during the experiment, indicating viable diatoms. However, survival varied between <0.1% and 47.6% among the three different S. marinoi strains, and overall survival was higher when NO3− was available. One strain did not survive in the NH4+ treatment. Using secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS), we quantified assimilation of labeled DIC and DIN from the ambient environment within the resting stages. Dark fixation of DIC was insignificant across all strains. Significant assimilation of 15N-NO3− and 15N-NH4+ occurred in all S. marinoi strains at rates that would double the nitrogenous biomass over 77–380 years depending on strain and treatment. Hence, resting stages of S. marinoi assimilate N from the ambient environment at slow rates during darkness and anoxia. This activity may explain their well-documented long survival and swift resumption of vegetative growth after dormancy in dark and anoxic sediments. 相似文献
