本文对中华羊茅Festuca sinensis内生真菌Neotyphodium sp.的生物学与生理学特性进行了报道。研究发现:中华羊茅内生真菌能在10-30℃生长,5℃和35℃几乎不能生长,最适生长温度是25℃;适宜的pH是7-9;不同的碳、氮源利用能力不同,利用能力最好的分别是甘露醇和酵母浸液;在不同培养基上的生长速度与产孢特性存在差异,马铃薯葡萄糖琼脂(PDA)培养基上生长最快,水琼脂(WA)和海水营养琼脂(SNA)培养基上生长最慢,但WA和SNA产孢最多。  相似文献

Spatial distribution and seasonal variation in densities of the invertebrates were investigated for a year in three stream pools of a South Indian river. The effects of season, substrate type and water depth on the distribution were analyzed. Substrate type and season influenced the invertebrate distribution the most. Leaf packs harboured most of the organisms followed by macro-algal substrate and sand. The lowest densities were observed on rocky substrates and in the water column. Rocky substrates in shallow water supported higher densities of total invertebrates than deeper areas. Chironomid larvae dominated all benthic substrates throughout the year. Of the 19 invertebrate taxa studied, 6 showed no seasonality in densities, and most of the rest showed their highest densities in the pre-monsoon period and lowest in the SW monsoon or post-monsoon periods. However, in two of the three pools, the densities of total invertebrates were highest during the post-monsoon period with secondary peaks in the pre-monsoon period.  相似文献

An annual organic matter budget for a 1700 m segment of Fort River (Massachusetts, USA) is presented. Primary production in this fourth order stream exceeds litter input annually, however ecosystem P/R is 0.5. Respiration in excess of gross primary production is supported by allochthonous organic matter imported from upstream reaches. The relative contribution of organic matter size fractions to stream consumers depends upon biologic lability, rate of input, and residence time in the ecosystem. Particles of seston size (1 μm to 1 mm) are most heavily used by consumers, however dissolved organic matter represents the largest input component. Microorganisms are the predominant consumers in this soft-water, nutrient-poor stream ecosystem. A conceptual model for assessing the processing efficiency of stream ecosystems is presented and discussed in terms of several headwater to estuary gradients.  相似文献

The possibility of tissue heating due to an auditory brainstem implant (ABI) or a modified cochlear implant (CI) during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the head was tested on a full-sized human phantom using a realistic phantom head consisting of simulated skull, brain, and muscle. Dielectric properties of the brain, muscle, and bone materials were similar to those of human tissues at 64 MHz. The body consisted of homogeneous phantom muscle enclosed in a human-shaped fiberglass shell. Thermographic and fiber-optic temperature measurements were conducted to reveal any heating. Thermograms of sagittal, frontal, and horizontal planes of the head with the ABI and CI electrodes were taken immediately before and after a 26 min MRI scan. The MRI sequence was set at 94 excitations and 25 ms echo time to induce maximum radiofrequency heating, as suggested by the General Electric Company. The difference of these two thermograms gives the heating results. In two uncut phantom heads, Teflon tubes were placed along the implanted ABI and CI, and temperature data were recorded via fiber-optic probes before, during, and after the MRI. Results showed no observable heating associated with the ABI and the modified CI during worst-case MRI of the head. © 1995 Wiley-Liss, Inc.  相似文献

Residual soils (saprolites) developed on crystalline rocks appear to form by an essentially isovolumetric process (i.e. without dilation or compaction). Isovolumetric geochemical analysis of a suite of saprolite samples developed on a common parent rock can be used to estimate the relative rates of long-term losses of P and Si during weathering. Using the export of dissolved Si in rivers as a weathering index, one can then estimate the rate of P release due to chemical weathering by means of the P-Si loss ratio in saprolite. For three basins where data are available (Liberty Hill, SC; Amazon River, Brazil: Rio Negro, Brazil) estimated P weathering release rates are 163, 457, and 242 moles P km–2 yr–1 respectively. These compare to precipitation inputs of 684, 700 and 630 moles P km–2 yr–1 and total river exports of 256, 4490 and 820 moles P km–2 yr–1, respectively. The Rio Negro shows a near perfect balance between the input of P via precipitation and chemical weathering and the riverine output of dissolved and suspended P. This system, however, raised the unsolved problem of the source that supports the atmospheric P input.  相似文献

Soybeans were grown at three CO2 concentrations in outdoor growth chambers and at two concentrations in controlled-environment growth chambers to investigate the interactive effects of CO2, temperature and leaf-to-air vapour pressure difference (LAVPD) on stomatal conductance. The decline in stomatal conductance with CO2 was a function of both leaf temperature and LAVPD. In the field measurements, stomatal conductance was more sensitive to LAVPD at low CO2 at 30 °C but not at 35 °C. There was also a direct increase in conductance with temperature, which was greater at the two elevated carbon dioxide concentrations. Environmental growth chamber results showed that the relative stomatal sensitivity to LAVPD decreased with both leaf temperature and CO2. Measurements in the environmental growth chamber were also performed at the opposing CO2, and these experiments indicate that the stomatal sensitivity to LAVPD was determined more by growth CO2 than by measurement CO2. Two models that describe stomatal responses to LAVPD were compared with the outdoor data to evaluate whether these models described adequately the interactive effects of CO2, LAVPD and temperature.  相似文献

SYNOPSIS. The effect of temperature on photoaccumulation and photophobic response of Volvox aureus were studied. The algae exhibited positive photoaccumulation at room temperature and negative at low temperature. When stimulated with light of intermediate intensiy (~ 5 × 103 lux), the phobic response of the algae consisted of a decrease in the frequency or the cessation of flagellar movement in the anterior cells. At room temperature, an increase in light intensity elicited the phobic response, whereas at low temperature a decrease in light intensity was the effective stimulus. The phobic response lasted only a few seconds. The positive and negative photoaccumulations of the algae could be explained by the brief cessation of flagellar movement in the anterior cells, elicited by an increase of stimulus light at room temperature or a decrease of stimulus at low temperature.  相似文献

Exposure of barley (Hordeum vulgare L. cv. Himalaya) aleurone layers to 40°C for a period of 3 h results in the selective suppression of the synthesis and secretion of hydrolytic enzymes; other normal cellular protein synthesis continues during heat shock. This suppression is correlated with secretory protein mRNA destabilization and the dissociation of stacked ER lamellae during heat shock (Belanger et al. 1986, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA 83, pp. 1354–1358). In this report we examined the effect of exposure to extended periods of heat shock. If exposure to 40°C was continued for a period of 18 h, the synthesis of α-amylase, the predominant secreted hydrolase, resumed. This was accompanied by increased α-amylase mRNA levels and the reformation of ER lamellae. Though initial exposure (3 h) to 40°C reduced protein secretion to ~10% of that observed in aleurone cells maintained at 25°C, exposure for prolonged periods (16–20 h) permitted the resumption of protein secretion to ~66% of non-heat-shocked control levels. The resumption of normal secretory protein synthesis during prolonged exposure to 40°C was correlated with an increase in the incorporation of [14C]glycerol into phosphatidylcholine and an increase in the ratio of saturated to unsaturated fatty acids in lipids isolated from ER membrane preparations. Increased fatty acid saturation has been demonstrated to enhance thermostability in biological membranes, and such changes in membrane composition may be important to the recovery of secretory protein synthesis at the ER.  相似文献

The period of suppression or arrested development differs according to the stage of development of the nematode when heat treatment is applied. Temperature responses of the cockroach, Blaberus craniifer, to rapid changes of ambient temperature (Ta) have been studied. In static conditions at Ta = 27°C the body-to-ambient temperature difference was only 0.10 ± 0.07°C. Two test situations were used, either a ramp increase of Ta from 27 to 31°C (0.1°C/min) or “step” changes from 27 to 28°C and back (0.5°C/min). In both cases body temperature closely followed Newtonian model, the body time constants measured in various conditions being very similar: 543 ± 99 sec in ramp tests, 550 ± 68 sec and 542 ± 124 sec in rising and falling step tests respectively. It is concluded that in spite of evident differences between the cockroach and an inert solid, the Newtonian model adequately represents the thermal responses of this insect to moderate changes in ambient temperature.  相似文献
