植物群落物种多样性与功能多样性是生态学研究的热点问题之一,研究其对于保护生物多样性和维持生态系统功能具有重要意义。采用野外群落调查方法,探讨了物种多样性与功能多样性在坡向梯度上的变化格局及其关联性。结果显示:(1)从北坡到南坡,土壤含水量、有机碳呈递减趋势;坡度、照度、土温、pH呈递增趋势;土壤全氮、全磷在西坡明显低于其他各坡向;(2)物种多样性指数均由北坡向南坡依次递减;(3)一元性状功能多样性在各坡向间的差异显著(P<0.05),除LDMCFDrao外,其他功能性状均为北坡大于南坡;(4)多元性状功能丰富度与功能均匀度均由北坡向南坡呈递减的趋势,各坡向的功能均匀度差异性不显著。通过相关分析与通径分析发现,功能多样性指数的主要环境决定因子与限定因子均存在差异:功能丰富度、功能均匀度主要环境限定因子为pH,功能离散度主要环境限定因子为土温;功能离散度主要环境决定因子为土壤含水量;(5)物种多样性指数与功能丰富度呈正线性相关,与功能离散度呈负线性相关,而与功能均匀度不相关。  相似文献

Effects of large mammalian herbivores on woody vegetation tend to be heterogeneous in space and time, but the factors that drive such heterogeneity are poorly understood. We examined the influence of fine‐scale habitat heterogeneity on the distribution and browsing effects of two of the largest African terrestrial mammals, the elephant and giraffe. We conducted this study within a 120‐ha (500 x 2,400 m) ForestGEO long‐term vegetation monitoring plot located at Mpala Research Center, Kenya. The plot traverses three distinct topographic habitats (“plateau,” “steep slopes,” and “valley”) with contrasting elevation, slope, soil properties, and vegetation composition. To quantify browsing damage, we focused on Acacia mellifera, a palatable tree species that occurs across the three habitat categories. Overall tree density, species richness, and diversity were highest on the steep slopes and lowest on the plateau. Acacia mellifera trees were tallest and had the lowest number of stems per tree on the steep slopes. Both elephant and giraffe avoided the steep slopes, and their activity was higher during the wet season than during the dry season. Browsing damage on Acacia mellifera was lowest on the steep slopes. Elephant browsing damage was highest in the valley, whereas giraffe browsing damage was highest on the plateau. Our findings suggest that fine‐scale habitat heterogeneity is an important factor in predicting the distribution of large herbivores and their effects on vegetation and may interact with other drivers such as edaphic variations to influence local variation in vegetation structure and composition.  相似文献

植物群落的空间分布格局是异质生境条件下物种种间相互作用的结果,其分异规律及其与环境因子的关系研究有助于认识植物的生态适应性。本文基于祁连山北坡28个样地的调查数据,采用双向指示种分析法(TWINSPAN)和典范对应分析(CCA)法探讨了灌木群落的空间分布与环境因子间相互关系。结果表明:(1)TWINSPAN分类将祁连山北坡灌木植被划分为盐爪爪+珍珠猪毛菜(Ass.Kalidium foliatum+Lyonia ovalifolia)、灌木亚菊+合头草(Ass.Ajania fruticulosa+Sympegma regelii)、合头草+茵陈蒿(Ass.Sympegma regelii+Artemisia capillaries)、珍珠猪毛菜+多根葱(Ass.Lyonia ovalifolia+Allium polyrhizum)、甘蒙锦鸡儿+针茅(Ass.Caragana opulens+Stipa capillata)、鬼箭锦鸡儿+高山柳(Ass.Caragana jubata+Salix cupularis)和金露梅+珠芽蓼(Ass.Dosiphora fruticosa+Polygonum viviparum)等7个群丛类型;(2)CCA排序结果表明,海拔和土壤全盐量是影响祁连山北坡灌木群落分布的主要环境因子,有机质、土壤含水量、土壤容重和p H值是次要因子,速效磷和速效钾对植物群落的影响较弱。  相似文献

Plant litter decomposition is mainly affected by litter properties and environmental factors, but the influence of terrain on litter decomposition is not well understood. We studied the effects of terrain on litter decomposition over a period of 12 months at six locations in a typical steppe ecoregion and measured the concomitant release of carbon (C), nitrogen (N), and phosphorus (P). The study site has two aspects, shaded and sunny, each aspect having three slopes: 15°, 30°, and 45°. The same mixed litter was used at each location to exclude the influence of litter quality variation. Results showed that soil temperature and moisture, solar radiation, and plant species diversity varied by terrain, which in turn, affected the k‐value (standardized total effects, 0.78, 0.12, 0.92, 0.23, respectively) and the release of C (0.72, –0.25, 0.83, 0.24, respectively), N (0.89, –0.45, 0.76, 0.40, respectively) and P (0.88, 0.77, 0.58, 0.57, respectively). K‐value and C release decreased with increasing slope on shaded aspect, while increased with increasing slope on sunny aspect. The release of N and P decreased with increasing slope on the shaded aspect. K‐value and C, N, and P release were significantly higher on shaded than that on sunny aspect at 15° and 30°, while at 45°, it was higher on sunny than on shaded aspect. The litter mass loss was slower on shaded 45° and sunny 15°. So moderate grazing or mowing could be used to reduce litter accumulation and accelerate litter decomposition on these terrains. Structural equation modeling indicated that soil temperature and solar radiation had the greatest influence on k‐value and C, N, and P release, and these two factors were directly related to soil moisture and plant species diversity. Overall, our results emphasize the need to consider terrain for litter decomposition in typical steppe ecoregions.  相似文献

Roadsides may homogenize the distribution of native species and act as corridors for the spread of alien taxa. We examined the variation in native and alien plant species richness and composition at two spatial scales defined by altitude and habitat type (edges and fill slopes), as well as the relationship between native and exotic species richness in roadside plant communities in mountains from central Argentina. Following a gradient from 1100 to 2200 m a.s.l. along a mountain road, plant species cover was recorded within sample plots of 30 m × 10 m systematically located at 100‐m altitude intervals on both roadside habitats. Although native species richness decreased with altitude and composition changed accordingly, the number of alien species peaked at both extremes of the elevation gradient and did not reflect an altitudinal replacement of chorological groups. The number of both native and alien species was higher in roadside edges, but a negative association between the richness of native and alien species occurred only on fill slopes, suggesting that roadside habitats differ in their susceptibility to plant species colonization and in the mechanisms driving native and alien species richness. Our results highlight the importance of altitude and roadside habitat as factors controlling plant species richness and composition along roadside communities in central Argentina. Although altitude acts as a filter for native plants, it apparently did not constrain the establishment of alien species along the studied roadsides, indicating that the influence of this road as a plant species corridor may increase with time, promoting the opportunities for aliens to expand their current distribution.  相似文献

The feeding ecology of two dominant lanternfishes Diaphus garmani and Diaphus chrysorhynchus was studied in the continental slope region of the East China Sea, off western Kyushu (31–33° N; 128–130° E). Stomach contents of D. garmani were composed mainly of crustacean zooplankton, such as copepods, euphausiids, decapod larvae and amphipods, and also of appendicularians. Stomach contents of D. chrysorhynchus were composed mainly of crustacean zooplankton, cephalopods and fishes. Diel changes in stomach fullness indicated that D. garmani fed more actively at night than in the day. On the other hand, although feeding activity of D. chrysorhynchus did not change drastically between day and night, it tended to feed on large prey items in the benthopelagic zone during the day and on zooplankton in the epipelagic zone at night. Daily rations of food were estimated to be 2·54% of body dry mass for D. garmani, and 2·38% of body dry mass for D. chrysorhynchus.  相似文献

This article addresses maritime boundary delimitation concerning the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles. The focal point is how the foot of the continental slope can be used as the point of departure in drawing the provisional equidistance line in outer continental shelf boundary delimitations between neighboring states. The article examines the strength and weaknesses of this approach and asks whether the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea indirectly rejected this approach in the 2012 Bangladesh v. A flatter diurnal rhythm of cortisol has been reported to be associated with early mortality in patients with metastatic breast cancer. The clinical stage of disease at the time of diagnosis and the patient's performance status (PS) are known to be important prognostic factors for lung cancer (LC) survival. The authors examined the relationship between diurnal cortisol rhythms and these prognostic factors in patients with advanced LC. Cortisol concentrations were measured in saliva samples collected from 52 patients (37 males/15 females) with advanced LC and from 56 healthy subjects (32 males/24 females) to characterize the diurnal cortisol rhythm, specifically the cortisol awakening response (CAR) and diurnal cortisol decline (DCD). Variations of CAR and DCD in the patients were analyzed according to their clinical disease stage and PS score, and the differences in CAR and DCD between patients and healthy controls were compared. The patient group showed significantly reduced diurnal cortisol secretory activity and rhythmicity, compared with healthy controls. When the patients were subgrouped according to their clinical disease stage, patients with stage 4 disease showed significantly reduced CAR and flatter DCD compared with the healthy controls. However, the CAR and DCD in patients with stage 3a and 3b disease were comparable to those of healthy controls. Neither the CAR nor the DCD showed stepwise changes as the disease stage worsened. When patients were subgrouped according to their Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) PS score, there was stepwise reduction in the CAR and flattening of the DCD as the PS score increased. Both an abolished CAR and a flattened DCD were common in patients with ECOG PS scores of 3 and 4. These results indicate that alteration of the diurnal cortisol rhythm in patients with advanced LC is more closely associated with their PS score than with their clinical disease stage. Gradual alteration of the CAR and DCD, indicative of loss of 24-h cortisol rhythm, in concert with increase in PS score implies that endogenous circadian rhythms may also be disintegrating as the PS score worsens in these patients. 海拔与坡位是气象因子和立地因子的综合表现.坡位影响环境因子在空间上的分布状况,与海拔共同营造物种生存的小生境,形成群落多度格局.本文选用5个描述种-多度关系的生态位模型(断棍模型BSM、生态位优先占领模型NPM、生态位重叠模型ONM、随机分配模型RAM、优势优先模型DPM),对北京东灵山辽东栎林的乔、灌、草3个层沿海拔梯度分别在上、中、下坡位进行群落多度格局调查.结果表明:在乔木层,从低海拔到高海拔、从下坡位到上坡位,能很好地反应群落多度格局变异的模型有由RAM、NPM向DPM过渡的趋势;能很好地拟合灌木层群落多度格局的生态位模型依次是NPM、BSM、RAM,DPM在高海拔地段拟合的效果也很好;BSM在草本层的拟合效果最好,其次是NPM和ONM.协方差分析表明,海拔和坡位都没有对辽东栎林的群落多度格局产生显薯影响.  相似文献

Our present understanding of the nature of the transition state for protein folding depends predominantly on studies where individual side-chain contributions are mapped out by mutational analysis (phi value analysis). This approach, although extremely powerful, does not in general provide direct information about the formation of backbone hydrogen bonds. Here, we report the results of amide H/D isotope effect studies that probe the development of hydrogen bonded interactions in the transition state for the folding of a small alpha-beta protein, the N-terminal domain of L9. Replacement of amide protons by deuterons in a solvent of constant isotopic composition destabilized the domain, decreasing both its T(m) and Delta G(0) of unfolding. The folding rate also decreased. The parameter Phi(H/D), defined as the ratio of the effect of isotopic substitution upon the activation free energy to the equilibrium free energy was determined to be 0.6 in a D(2)O background and 0.75 in a H(2)O background, indicating that significant intraprotein hydrogen bond interactions are developed in the transition state for the folding of NTL9. The value is in remarkably good agreement with more traditional measures of the position of the transition state, which report on the relative burial of surface area. The results provide a picture of a compact folding transition state containing significant secondary structure. Indirect analysis argues that the bulk of the kinetic isotope effect arises from the beta-sheet-rich region of the protein, and suggests that the development of intraprotein hydrogen bonds in this region plays a critical role in the folding of NTL9.  相似文献
