华南陆表海沉积与生物的发育深受其东南边缘茅口期以来隆起来成陆的影响。边缘海域的相带自南东向北西,由陆地向浅海呈规律性排列;随着海退的继续,相带相应地向北西推移。海域内的菊石群专属性地发育于泥质沉积,强烈的土著性质显示其生活环境的局限性,不同于陆缘海斜坡同期的“南丹型”菊石和沉积。  相似文献

A distinct vertical zonation was observed among diatoms in a bottom congelation ice community at McMurdo Sound, Antarctica during the 1981 spring bloom. The bottom 20 cm of ice collected in December from four stations with variable snow cover was subdivided into 5 cm sections for analysis of algal distribution. Algal abundance was inversely related to the depth of snow cover, and generally decreased with increasing distance above the ice-water interface. Most diatoms, including the dominant species Nitzschia stellata Manguin, Amphiprora kufferathii Manguin and Fragilaria islandica var. adeliae Manguin showed peak abundance in the bottom 10 cm of the ice, where the proportion of living to empty cells was also highest. Two species, however, an Auricula Castracane sp. and Navicula glaciei van Heurck, reached highest concentrations at depths 10–20 cm above the ice-water interface. We considered two factors as contributing to the observed vertical zonation: (1) successive blooms at the ice-water interface become spatially stratified within the ice by further accretion below; (2) a differential growth of species occurs along physicochemical gradients within the ice column. A comparison of early versus late season profiles suggests the latter mechanism may prevail once ice accretion has ceased.  相似文献

Starting from 66 days post hatching (dph), European sea bass Dicentrarchus labrax were graded successively to create a fast growing (L‐extreme) and a slow growing (S‐extreme) population. The L‐extreme population grew significantly larger (ANOVA, n = 89–101, P < 0·01) attaining twice the wet mass of the S‐extreme population at 300 dph (130·9 ± 1·8 v. 66·7 ± 0·9 g, mean ± s .e .). When the two populations were sexed, the L‐extreme consisted of 96·5% and the S‐extreme of 30·2% females, while the ungraded control had 59·2% females. Sex differentiation began first in females at a total length (LT) of 97 ± 4 mm and wet mass of 9·4 ± 1·2 g (150 dph), and was completed when fish reached 166 ± 6 mm and 53·4 ± 6·4 g (250 dph) in both sexes. Precocious maturation in males was positively correlated to growth. Gonad oestradiol (E2) was significantly higher in the female‐dominant population at the onset of ovarian differentiation (ANOVA, n = 10, P < 0·05) and in the plasma after the appearance of the first primary oocytes (P < 0·01). Gonad testosterone (T) increased in both populations after sex differentiation (ANOVA, n = 10, P < 0·05), while plasma levels were significantly higher in the male‐dominant population (P < 0·001). Both gonad and plasma 11‐keto testosterone (11‐KT) were significantly higher in the male‐dominant population (ANOVA, n = 10, P < 0·01) reaching maximal values at spermiation. The results suggest that E2 is closely related with ovarian differentiation and the onset of oogenesis, while T and 11‐KT is more related to spermatogenesis and precocious maturation.  相似文献

Recent sampling in the Rockall Trough, Porcupine Seabight and Porcupine Abyssal Plain, in the NE Atlantic, has yielded 200 specimens of apodous holothurians belonging to seven species of the family Myriotrochidae Théel from depths between 1000 and 4310 m. These include the type species of a new genus and two new species of existing genera. Parvotrochus belyaevi gen. et sp. nov . is described from some minute specimens from the Rockall Trough that possess both exceptionally small wheel-like deposits and numerous, large curved rods in the body wall and tentacles. Myriotrochus clarki sp. Nov . has affinities to M. vitreus (M. Sars) but shows differences in the shape of the plates of the calcareous ring and in having larger, frequently abnormally formed, wheels. Siniotrochus myriodontus sp. Nov . is similar to the type species of this genus, S. phoxus, Pawson, but differs in the arrangement of the teeth on the wheels. A single small specimen of Prototrochus Belyaev et Mironov from the Whittard Canyon, northern Bay of Biscay, is similar to P. minutus (Östergren), a species known only from the Sea of Japan, but differs in some characteristics of the wheels and tentacles. A new subspecies, P. zenkevitchi rockallensis subsp. nov. , is proposed for a form of P. zenkevitchi (Belyaev) that was the most common myriotrochid encountered. P. zenkevitchi was known previously only from a few localities in the Pacific and S Atlantic deep-sea trenches. Similarly, two species previously known only from the NE Pacific, Myriotrochus bathybius H. L. Clark and M. giganteus H. L. Clark, are also recorded from the N Atlantic for the first time. The synonymy of M. giganteus and M. sp. ex gr. macquariensis-giganteus Belyaev et Mironov is proposed. The greatest number both of specimens and species came from the areas most intensively sampled. The present records show that several species have world-wide distributions. The wide geographic separation of many records is the result of both poor sampling effort in the deep sea, particularly with fine-meshed gear, and the difficulties in sampling infaunal animals in the deep sea. Box core samples in the Rockall Trough suggest that the myriotrochids are more common in this area than would be supposed from epibenthic sledge data. Hence, myriotrochids may be more prevalent in the deep sea than previously thought.  相似文献

Sea ice microalgae are released from their relatively stable light environment to the water column seasonally, and any subsequent growth in a vertically mixed water column may depend, in part, on their photoadaptation rates. In this study we followed the time course of photoadaptation in natural sea ice algal communities from bottom ice and surface ice by measuring their photophysiological response to an artificial shift in the ambient irradiance field. Microalgae from under-ice habitats, were incubated under full sunlight (LL-HL) and microalgae from surface ice habitats were incubated under artificial light to mimic under-ice irradiance (HL-LL). During 3- to 4-day time course studies, opposite shifts in chlorophyll: carbon, α, PBm, and Ik were observed, depending on the direction of the irradiance change. First-order rate constants (k) ranged from 0.0067 to 0.29 h?1 for photosynthetic parameters, although PBm did not always show a clear change over time. Rates of photoadaptation for ice algae are comparable to k values reported for temperate phytoplankton, suggesting that sea ice algae may be equally capable of adapting to the light conditions experienced in a vertically mixed water column. This study presents the first evidence that sea ice microalgae are physiologically capable of adapting to a planktonic life and thus could serve as a seed population for polar marine phytoplankton blooms.  相似文献

Ice diatom assemblages in the Canadian Arctic are dominated by the Naviculaceae, a family which includes the genus Stenoneis Cleve. A taxonomic history of S. inconspicua var. baculus (Cleve) Cleve (including type material of Navicula baculus Cleve) is presented with morphological data including the first SEM views of the genus. Stenoneis inconspicua var. baculus was compared with S. obtuserostrata (Hustedt) comb. nov. (basionym: Navicula obtuserostrata Hustedt). In the SEM, external, short, flattened siliceous ridges were revealed beside the proximal parts of the raphe branches and central pores. This may be a significant taxonomic feature of the genus. Valves of S. inconspicua var. baculus ranged from 40–103 μm in length, 7–11 μm in width and had 17–20 striae in 10 μm, whereas valves of S. obtuserostrata were shorter (27–53 μm), narrower (6–7.5 μm) and more finely striated (24–30 in 10 μm). Both taxa have a circumpolar Arctic distribution.  相似文献

The pantropical sea urchin genus Eucidaris contains four currently recognized species, all of them allopatric: E. metularia in the Indo-West Pacific, E. thouarsi in the eastern Pacific, E. tribuloides in both the western and eastern Atlantic, and E. clavata at the central Atlantic islands of Ascension and St. Helena. We sequenced a 640-bp region of the cytochrome oxidase I (COI) gene of mitochondrial DNA to determine whether this division of the genus into species was confirmed by molecular markers, to ascertain their phylogenetic relations, and to reconstruct the history of possible dispersal and vicariance events that led to present-day patterns of species distribution. We found that E. metularia split first from the rest of the extant species of the genus. If COI divergence is calibrated by the emergence of the Isthmus of Panama, the estimated date of the separation of the Indo-West Pacific species is 4.7–6.4 million years ago. This date suggests that the last available route of genetic contact between the Indo-Pacific and the rest of the tropics was from west to east through the Eastern Pacific Barrier, rather than through the Tethyan Sea or around the southern tip of Africa. The second cladogenic event was the separation of eastern Pacific and Atlantic populations by the Isthmus of Panama. Eucidaris at the outer eastern Pacific islands (Galapagos, Isla del Coco, Clipperton Atoll) belong to a separate clade, so distinct from mainland E. thouarsi as to suggest that this is a different species, for which the name E. galapagensis is revived from the older taxonomic literature. Complete lack of shared alleles in three allozyme loci between island and mainland populations support their separate specific status. Eucidaris galapagensis and E. thouarsi are estimated from their COI divergence to have split at about the same time that E. thouarsi and E. tribuloides were being separated by the Isthmus of Panama. Even though currents could easily convey larvae between the eastern Pacific islands and the American mainland, the two species do not appear to have invaded each other's ranges. Conversely, the central Atlantic E. clavata at St. Helena and Ascension is genetically similar to E. tribuloides from the American and African coasts. Populations on these islands are either genetically connected to the coasts of the Atlantic or have been colonized by extant mitochondrial DNA lineages of Eucidaris within the last 200,000 years. Although it is hard to explain how larvae can cross the entire width of the Atlantic within their competent lifetimes, COI sequences of Eucidaris from the west coast of Africa are very similar to those of E. tribuloides from the Caribbean. FST statistics indicate that gene flow between E. metularia from the Indian Ocean and from the western and central Pacific is restricted. Low gene flow is also evident between populations of E. clavata from Ascension and St. Helena. Rates of intraspecific exchange of genes in E. thouarsi, E. galapagensis, and E. tribuloides, on the other hand, are high. The phylogeny of Eucidaris confirms Ernst Mayr's conclusions that major barriers to the dispersal of tropical echinoids have been the wide stretch of deep water between central and eastern Pacific, the cold water off the southwest coast of Africa, and the Isthmus of Panama. It also suggests that a colonization event in the eastern Pacific has led to speciation between mainland and island populations.  相似文献

The time-scale for the evolution of additive genetic variance-covariance matrices (G-matrices) is a crucial issue in evolutionary biology. If the evolution of G-matrices is slow enough, we can use standard multivariate equations to model drift and selection response on evolutionary time scales. We compared the G-matrices for meristic traits in two populations of gaiter snakes (Thamnophis elegans) with an apparent separation time of 2 million years. Despite considerable divergence in the meristic traits, foraging habits, and diet, these populations show conservation of structure in their G-matrices. Using Flury's hierarchial approach to matrix comparisons, we found that the populations have retained the principal components (eigenvectors) of their G-matrices, but their eigenvalues have diverged. In contrast, we were unable to reject the hypothesis of equal environmental matrices (E-matrices) for these populations. We propose that a conserved pattern of multivariate stabilizing selection may have contributed to conservation of G- and E-matrix structure during the divergence of these populations.  相似文献

The Apodida is an order of littoral to deep-sea, largely infaunal sea cucumbers with about 270 extant species in 32 genera and three families, Synaptidae, Chiridotidae and Myriotrochidae. In this study, I perform the first phylogenetic test of the taxonomic and palaeontological hypotheses about evolutionary relationships within Apodida by using cladistic analyses of 34 morphological characters. I introduce several previously unconsidered synapomorphic characters, examine the relationships between all recognized suprageneric taxonomic groups and assess the assumptions of monophyly for each family. Maximum-parsimony analyses of type species from 14 genera and use of three rooting methods recovered identical topologies at the subordinal level and subfamily level within Synaptidae. Overall, the current higher-level classification of Apodida was well corroborated. Within Synaptidae, the relationships (Synaptinae, (Leptosynaptinae, Rynkatorpinae)) are well supported. The monophyly of Chiridotidae was not supported and appears paraphyletic at the subfamily level. Calibrating the phylogenetic hypothesis of Apodida against the fossil record indicated that most higher-level divergences occurred within the Palaeozoic, unlike that of extant non-holothuroid echinoderms, which radiated in the early Mesozoic. Synaptidae appears to have radiated during the Lower Cretaceous. Alternatively, and if one discounts the considerable ghost lineage duration that this hypothesis requires, they may have radiated during the Eocene.  相似文献

用海水灌注的方法诱发海水淹溺肺水肿(PESWD),采取高频喷射通气(HFJV)治疗之。以细胞化学反应和图像定量分析为手段从碱性磷酸酶(AKP)角度研究其病理生理变化机理。结果表明,海水灌注后AKP产物数量和密度显著增加,HFJV治疗后均回落至接近正常水平。推测PESWD引起AKP活性代偿性升高,HFJV后,肺部氧供应改善可能是导致AKP活性下降的原因  相似文献
