The investigation of the plant resources of Lishui Ecological Demonstrative Area indicates that there are 18 families,27 genera and 33 species(including varieties and forms) of National first-grade and second-grade wild plants for protection.The other rare and precious plants amount to 17 species.The resources condition and nature distribution of wild rare and precious plants are expounded ,and some suggestions on their sustainable utilization and conservation for wild rare and precious plants are put forward.  相似文献

Molecular genecology is the study of geographical clines in frequencies of molecular markers and their relationship to ecological clines in environmental conditions. This study outlines the principles underlying the selection of populations, focusing on avoiding 'false positives'- noncausal correlations between allele frequency and the environment. The principles are illustrated by identifying a set of populations of Lolium perenne for the study of temperature responses. The selected set of populations encompasses a 20 degrees C range in mean January temperature. Their freezing tolerance shows a linear trend with winter temperature, LT50 decreasing by 0.25 degrees C for each 1 degrees C reduction in mean January temperature.  相似文献

Desulfovibrio desulfuricans reduces Pd(II) to Pd(0) at the expense of H2. Mass transfer limits the rate under hydrogen in a static solution, while a bubble reactor was inefficient due to loss of H2. A novel approach to the transfer of H2 to the biomass utilized a biofilm on the surface of a Pd-Ag membrane that traps and transports atomic hydrogen (H), formed at the back-side electrochemically, for delivery to the immobilized biofilm to form a biocatalytic surface for reduction of Pd(II) and deposition of Pd(0). Separation of the primary electrolysis chamber from the biocatalytic chamber permits the use of different solutions and pH in each, and use of a low voltage for H2 generation. Pd(0) recovery was efficient and fed by H2 on demand to give a clean, economic system with no generation of secondary wastes. The system was tested against a precious metal processing waste where the continuous removal of Pd, Pt and Rh was up to 88%, 99% and 75%, respectively, at a flow residence time of 10–20 min at an input pH of 2.5 and a total metals concentration of approx. 5 mM. Biorecovered Pd(0) was a better chemical catalyst than its chemical counterpart in a test reaction which liberated H2 from hypophosphite.  相似文献

Seventeen subjects performed resistance training of the leg extensor and flexor muscle groups two (2/wk) or three (3/wk) times per week. Changes in the relative myosin heavy chain (MHC) isoform contents (I, IIa and IIx) of the vastus lateralis and isometric, isokinetic and squat-lift one-repetition maximum (1RM) strength were compared between conditions after both a common training period (6 weeks) and number of training sessions (18). After 6 weeks and 18 sessions (9 weeks for the 2/wk group), increments in 1RM strength for the 3/wk and 2/wk groups were similar [effect size (ES) differences ≈0.3, 3/wk > 2/wk], whereas the 2/wk group presented greater isokinetic (ES differences = 0.3–1.2) and isometric (ES differences ≈0.7) strength increases than the 3/wk condition. A significant (P < 0.05) increase in MHC IIa percentage was evident for the 2/wk group after 18 sessions. Both training groups exhibited a trend towards a reduction in the relative MHC IIx and an increase in MHC IIa contents (ES range = 0.5–1.24). However, correlations between changes in the strength and MHC profiles were weak (r 2: 0.0–0.5). Thus, isometric and isokinetic strength responses to variations in training frequency differed from 1RM strength responses, and changes in strength were not strongly related to alterations in relative MHC content. 1. We investigated whether reserves stored in the lignotubers of two Mediterranean shrubs, Arbutus unedo and Erica arborea , were significantly mobilized to support the demands of regrowth and respiration after clipping the tops at different frequencies.
2. After a single clipping, Arbutus showed a 29% decrease of phosphorus concentration by the end of the first growing season. Two years after recovery from clipping, the starch levels remained lower than those of unclipped plants. Similarly, Erica showed depletion of starch, but no nutrient reserves were depleted significantly.
3. Regrowth after multiple clippings mobilized a large fraction of the starch and nutrients stored in the lignotuber. Mean starch concentrations were depleted by 87–93% after multiple clippings and concentrations of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and magnesium were depleted by 10–45%, 27–41%, 19–39% and 23–31%, respectively.
4. An average-sized lignotuber produced 288 resprouts for Arbutus and 1990 resprouts for Erica during a 27 month period of multiple clippings, at the end of which the first plants died.
5. Plant mortality after multiple clipping was 10% for Arbutus and 30% for Erica , and was primarily attributed to exhaustion of carbon reserves because starch concentrations decreased by 96% in dead plants.  相似文献

Nitrogen recovery from 15N-labelled prunings of Gliricidia sepium, Peltophorum dasyrrachis, Calliandra calothyrsus and Leucaena leucocephala, each of two different chemical qualities, was followed over three cropping cycles in a growth room. Half of the pots of each treatment received a further addition of unlabelled pruning material, from the same species as that previously applied, before the second and third crop cycle. The cumulative maize total N accumulation revealed the largest benefit from N rich, low lignin and polyphenols Gliricidia prunings followed by Leucaena, Calliandra and Peltophorum. Cumulative N recovery measured using 15N over the three crop cycles ranged from 9% from Calliandra prunings to 44% from Gliricidia prunings. The vast majority of this N was recovered during the first crop cycle which agreed well with estimates using the N difference method. Recoveries in the second and third crops ranged from 0.4–5% (15N method) and 6–14% (N difference method) of the N initially applied. The protein binding capacity of polyphenols was the best predictor of N recovery at both initial and later crop cycles. Treatments which led to a large N recovery initially, continued to provide greater N benefits in subsequent cycles although with increasing harvest time this trend decreased. Thus, there was no compensation in initial N release from low quality prunings at later harvests and the agronomic implications of this are discussed. Addition of unlabelled Gliricidia prunings before the second and third cycle led to a positive apparent priming effect on previously applied 15N labelled prunings. By contrast, repeated additions of Peltophorum residues, rich in lignin and active polyphenols, resulted in a reduced recovery of initially applied pruning-15N. However, the maximum positive or negative effects on recovery of pruning N amounted to less than 2% recovery of the initial amount of N added over 14 weeks. Thus the scope for regulation of N release from tree prunings during these later stages of decomposition appears to be limited.  相似文献

The response of photosynthetic CO2 exchange to tissue water content in five spp. of Sphagnum from contrasting microhabitats ( S. fuscum (Schimp.) Klinggr., S. papillosum H. Lindb., S. magellanicum Brid., S. balticum (Russ.) C. Jens. and S. cuspidatum Ehrh. ex Hoffm.) was measured in the laboratory using an infrared gas analyser technique. Experiments were designed to test recovery of net photosynthesis after periodic and long lasting desiccation.
The contact between capitula and basal parts of the mosses seems to be important for survival. Isolated capitula cut off from any contact with the water table were not able to recover after complete desiccation (at 15°C for 2–4 d). When contact with the water table is lost, e.g. during long periods of desiccation, recovery of net photosynthesis can take place but only if the water content of the capitula does not fall too far below c . 10–20% of the water content at compensation point.
There was no relationship between the ability of net photosynthesis to recover from desiccation and the wetness of the natural microhabitat. Sphagna survive dry periods by avoidance of drying out by high capillarity or dense growth form (as in S. fuscum ).  相似文献

In 1990 and 1991, Samoa was struck by two cyclones, Ofa and Val. In the Tafua Rain Forest Preserve on the island of Savai'i, one part of the forest also burned after the first cyclone. Here we report on patterns of regeneration and changes in tree species composition in the Tafua lowland rain forest after five years of recovery from cyclone and fire disturbance. In the unburned area, tree canopy cover increased from 27 percent after the last cyclone to 58 percent, and in the burned area from below 12 to 49 percent. Nine of the ten most common tree species decreased in relative abundance in the entire forest after the last cyclone. One fast growing pioneer species, Macaranga harveyana now makes up 42 percent of the total number of trees (>5 cm DBH) in the unburned area and 86 percent in the burned area. Large interspecific differences occur in size distribution and there are at least four distinguishable regeneration patterns, which may be related to shade tolerance. Mean number of species per plot was generally higher in the unburned area than in the burned area, while the Shannon evenness index was higher in the unburned than in the burned area only for trees above 1 cm DBH. Species with fruits known to be fed upon by birds and/or bats generally made up a larger proportion of all trees in the burned than in the unburned area. In contrast to other studies of post‐cyclone regeneration, in which recovery is often rapid due to resprouting of trees, recovery in the Tafua forest was a slow process with regeneration more dependent on vertebrate seed dispersal than on resprouting.  相似文献

The accumulation and effects of 150 pg All-1 on minnows ( Phoxinus phoxinus L.) were studied in soft water at pH 7, 6 and 5. The fish were kept in a flow-through water system for up to 48 days. Addition of aluminium to the water resulted in poor appetite, passivity and a tendency for the fish to gather as far as possible from the aluminium inlet. The mortality was high at pH 5 and also after addition of aluminium at pH 6. Severe lesions were noted in the gills and olfactory organs after exposure to aluminium. The concentration of aluminium in the gills, liver and kidney was increased at low pH. A large proportion of the aluminium was located on the surface of the gill epithelium. The recovery capacity was pronounced when the aluminium exposure was terminated and the pH was increased from 5 to 7. No further mortality occurred and gill and olfactory organ structure returned to near normality in about 36 days.  相似文献
