为探讨不同毒力疟原虫感染早期根治性治疗对免疫记忆形成的影响,用致死型和非致死型约氏疟原虫感染DBA/2小鼠,感染后3 d进行根治性治疗,并于初次感染后90 d进行再感染。通过计数红细胞感染率和检测再感染前后不同时间点脾细胞中记忆性T、B细胞的百分含量后发现,再感染后2组小鼠均出现了短暂的低水平虫体血症;再感染前小鼠脾细胞中记忆性T、B细胞百分率均略高于正常鼠;但再感染后均出现了有意义的升高;在每一相同检测时间点,2组小鼠的虫体血症水平和记忆性T、B细胞百分率均无显著差异。这表明,不同毒力疟原虫感染早期的根治性治疗可使宿主产生水平相近的免疫记忆,再感染可促进免疫记忆的形成。  相似文献

This review summarizes the recent knowledge on the epidemiology of Helicobacter pylori and the potential modes of transmission. In addition to English language publications, the authors have included original full‐text publications from Russia and Latin America published in the original languages. High H pylori prevalence has been reported in Russia, Jordan, Iran, China, and Latin American countries as well as in Arctic populations in Canada. Indigenous inhabitants in the Arctic were found to be infected substantially more frequently than non‐indigenous inhabitants. In Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the ethnic minority groups were at a significantly higher risk of being H pylori seropositive compared to the Dutch population. For the first time, data on the prevalence from Armenia have been published indicating 41.5% H pylori prevalence. Convincing evidence on the decline of H pylori prevalence in Southeast Hungary and Taiwan was published. A study from Chile suggested high infection rates in newborns during the first month after birth. Two meta‐analyses covered the potential correlation between H pylori and periodontal diseases, therefore addressing the potential oro‐oral transmission rates. Periodontal disease was found to be more prevalent in H pylori‐infected subjects. Other studies addressed the potential role of drinking water and food products as well as socioeconomic factors in transmitting the infection. Several studies in Asia addressed annual reinfection rates of H pylori, ranging from 1.5% in China to 3.1% in Korea. Finally, a review was published on the current evidence and future perspective of analysing H pylori in ancient human remains by a metagenomic approach.  相似文献

Exogenous human herpes virus 6 (HHV-6) reinfection has never been reported in patients receiving tumor-infiltrating T lymphocytes therapy. We report an unusual case of HHV-6 infection following infusion of HHV-6 infected autologous T lymphocytes. HHV-6 infection could interfere with the tumor antigen immune recognition and the efficacy of immunotherapy.  相似文献

High rate of Helicobacter pylori reinfection in children and adolescents   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
AIMS: Primary Helicobacter pylori infection occurs predominantly in childhood. The aims of this study were to establish the rate of H. pylori reinfection after successful eradication in children and adolescents and to determine the risk factors associated with reinfection. PATIENTS AND METHODS: This retrospective study involved 45 children (20 girls, 25 boys) who met the following criteria: eradication of H. pylori confirmed at least 4 weeks after the completion of therapy, and the search for reinfection at least one year after control of eradication of H. pylori. Demographic data, socioeconomic status and living conditions were recorded. RESULTS: Forty-five children aged 1.2-17.6 years (median, 10.9 years) at the time of H. pylori treatment were reviewed 1 to 9 years after H. pylori eradication. Eight children (18%) had been reinfected (5.4% to 6% per patient-year). Six of 25 (24%) children older than 10 years at the time of diagnosis became reinfected. None of the studied risk factors was associated with reinfection. However, having a sibling younger than 5 years was found in four of seven (57%) reinfected children versus five of 24 (21%) nonreinfected children (p = .08). CONCLUSION: Children become reinfected more frequently than adults. Adolescents become reinfected, whereas acquisition of primary H. pylori infection occurs predominantly in early childhood. Close contact with young children, especially siblings, younger than 5 years could be a more important risk factor than the age of the patient at the time of treatment for the high rate of reinfection in childhood.  相似文献

In Biomphalaria glabrata snails already harboring Echinostoma lindoense, attempts at reinfection with the same trematode species failed when the interval between exposures was 6 days or more. With 2 days between exposures, the experimental snails were as susceptible to reinfection as the control snails. Between these limits, the reinfection failure rate increased with the exposure interval. Failure to reinfect the snails was probably due to cannibalism, young sporocysts from the second infection being swallowed by predatory rediae from the first infection. Development of sporocysts in successfully reinfected snails was normal.  相似文献

When eggs or mouse-derived cysticercoids of Hymenolepis nana were inoculated into previously uninfected congenitally athymic nude (rnu/rnu) rats of an outbred Rowett strain, they failed to mature in the intestinal lumen. They also failed to mature in phenotypically normal (rnu/+) littermates, except when these hosts were treated with cortisone acetate from the beginning of the lumen phase. The Rowett rat, either thymus-deficient or not, was susceptible to tissue cysticercoids but resistant to luminal adults. It is therefore considered to be an unnatural host, at least for mouse-derived H. nana. There was little or no difference in susceptibility to initial tissue cysticercoids between these nude rats and phenotypically normal ones. The normal rats became completely resistant to reinfection with eggs and no secondary cysticercoids developed in their intestinal tissue, whereas the nude rats showed unaltered susceptibility to secondary tissue cysticercoids. Thus, acquired resistance to egg challenge, assessed by the failure of tissue cysticercoid recovery, was thymus-dependent. However, innate resistance to both a primary egg dose, assessed by the low recovery rates of tissue cysticercoids, and to a primary cysticercoid dose, assessed by the failure of luminal adult recovery, were thymus-independent. The effect of cortisone acetate to initiate maturation of H. nana appeared to be unrelated to thymus function. In contrast, all mice, either thymus-deficient or not, were highly susceptible to both phases. Eleven inbred strains of mice, and one outbred strain, were infected with Strongyloides ratti and larvae in the faeces were quantitated. Three strains, C57B1/6, CBA and BALB/c mice were susceptible to infection while other strains demonstrated negligible infections as assessed by this method. Larvae were first seen in the faeces on day 5, peak levels were reached on days 6 and 7, and excretion ceased 10 days after infection. Factors influencing intensity of larval excretion were examined in C57B1/6 mice. Young mice (1 month of age) were found to be more susceptible to infection than 2 and 6 month old animals. Male mice were much more susceptible to infection than female animals. There was a direct relationship between the number of S. ratti injected and the number of larvae excreted over the range 200–1600 larvae; subsequent increments in dose of injected larvae failed to increase the larval output. Infection by the percutaneous route resulted in a heavier infection than did subcutaneous injection. Previous exposure to S. ratti induced a profound resistance to reinfection. It is suggested that S. ratti infections of C57B1/6 and CBA mice provide a useful model for the investigation of factors influencing the host-parasite relationship in strongyloidiasis.  相似文献

Persistence of down regulation of granoloma size was studied in mice chronically infected with Schistosoma mansoni and cured by chemotherapy. The animals were reinfected at 20-, 50-, 110- and 140-day intervals after treatment, and sacrificed 60 days post-reinfection. Reinfected animals were able to modulate the granulomatous inflammatory response, thus preventing a new acute phase. These findings may contribute to the explanation for the decrease of morbidity from human schistosomiasis seen in endemic areas following mass treatment.  相似文献
