The Opuntia cochineal scale or false carmine cochineal scale, Dactylopius opuntiae (Cockerell) (Hemiptera: Dactylopiidae), is spreading rapidly in many countries, especially in the Mediterranean basin, where it has become a serious pest of prickly pear crops, Opuntia ficus‐indica (L.) Miller (Cactaceae). This crop is an important food resource both for humans and livestock. The cochineal was originally used as a biological agent to control cactaceous weeds in many countries where Opuntiaceae had been introduced. Currently, in some countries where the prickly pear is no longer considered a weed but a productive crop, as in the Mediterranean area, D. opuntiae has changed its role from a highly prized biological control agent to the status of serious pest. This paper provides an overview of the current knowledge on D. opuntiae for farmers and stakeholders in order to indicate the most appropriate way to limit or counteract the spread of this pest especially in new cultivated areas.  相似文献

基于长白山低海拔区的红松年轮样本,建立树轮宽度和细胞尺度参数的7个标准年表;选取部分树轮年表与东岗气象站1959-2007年前一年9月到当年9月的月均气温、月均最高气温、月均最低气温、月降水量进行相关分析;并分析1988年气候突变前后红松年轮指数年表与气候要素的关系,结果表明:所建立的7个标准年表中,细胞个数与轮宽年表的相关性最好;降水和气温都是长白山低海拔区红松树木生长的限制因子,但树轮与降水的相关关系略好于气温,主要表现为与前一年9月和当年5、6月降水的相关达显著水平.细胞大小比轮宽能反映出更多气候信息,主要体现在细胞大小年表与当年3月气温和5月降水呈正相关关系,与当年5月气温呈负相关关系;1988年气温发生升高突变后,树轮对气候要素的响应发生了变化,主要表现为细胞大小对气候要素响应的敏感性降低,与气候要素相关的月份有所提前.  相似文献

Aims

To investigate community shifts of amoA‐encoding archaea (AEA) and ammonia‐oxidizing bacteria (AOB) in biofilter under nitrogen accumulation process.

Methods and Results

A laboratory‐scale rockwool biofilter with an irrigated water circulation system was operated for 436 days with ammonia loading rates of 49–63 NH3 g m?3 day?1. The AEA and AOB communities were investigated by denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis, sequencing and real‐time PCR analysis based on amoA genes. The results indicated that changes in abundance and community compositions occurred in a different manner between archaeal and bacterial amoA during the operation. However, both microbial community structures mainly varied when free ammonia (FA) concentrations in circulation water were increasing, which caused a temporal decline in reactor performance. Dominant amoA sequences after this transition were related to Thaumarchaeotal Group I.1b, Nitrosomonas europaea lineages and one subcluster within Nitrosospira sp. cluster 3, for archaea and bacteria, respectively.

Conclusions

The specific FA in circulation water seems to be the important factor, which relates to the AOB and AEA community shifts in the biofilter besides ammonium and pH.

Predicting which species will occur together in the future, and where, remains one of the greatest challenges in ecology, and requires a sound understanding of how the abiotic and biotic environments interact with dispersal processes and history across scales. Biotic interactions and their dynamics influence species' relationships to climate, and this also has important implications for predicting future distributions of species. It is already well accepted that biotic interactions shape species' spatial distributions at local spatial extents, but the role of these interactions beyond local extents (e.g. 10 km2 to global extents) are usually dismissed as unimportant. In this review we consolidate evidence for how biotic interactions shape species distributions beyond local extents and review methods for integrating biotic interactions into species distribution modelling tools. Drawing upon evidence from contemporary and palaeoecological studies of individual species ranges, functional groups, and species richness patterns, we show that biotic interactions have clearly left their mark on species distributions and realised assemblages of species across all spatial extents. We demonstrate this with examples from within and across trophic groups. A range of species distribution modelling tools is available to quantify species environmental relationships and predict species occurrence, such as: (i) integrating pairwise dependencies, (ii) using integrative predictors, and (iii) hybridising species distribution models (SDMs) with dynamic models. These methods have typically only been applied to interacting pairs of species at a single time, require a priori ecological knowledge about which species interact, and due to data paucity must assume that biotic interactions are constant in space and time. To better inform the future development of these models across spatial scales, we call for accelerated collection of spatially and temporally explicit species data. Ideally, these data should be sampled to reflect variation in the underlying environment across large spatial extents, and at fine spatial resolution. Simplified ecosystems where there are relatively few interacting species and sometimes a wealth of existing ecosystem monitoring data (e.g. arctic, alpine or island habitats) offer settings where the development of modelling tools that account for biotic interactions may be less difficult than elsewhere.  相似文献

生境管理是近年来保护性生物防治的重要研究方向,也是利用农业景观格局进行生物防治的重要策略。生境管理是指从农田景观的角度,在大时空尺度范围内进行多种作物与非作物生境的设计与布局,创造有利于天敌的环境条件,抑制害虫种群发生,达到减小环境污染、增强农业生态系统的控害保益功能,最终实现害虫种群控制的可持续性。景观尺度下的生境管理不仅强调单一农田生物控害作用,而是以多生境农业景观整体布局为指导,探索各种生境功能的整合利用,以发挥各种生境最大的生物控害潜能,为实现多目标生态服务价值管理提供重要的理论基础和现实依据。本文系统地总结了生境管理的研究内容与实现途径,论述了农业景观格局与过程对害虫种群控制的机理,并对作为保护性生物防治发展方向的生境管理研究趋势进行了展望。  相似文献

Poor quality and insufficient productivity are two main obstacles for the practical application of graphene in electrochemical energy storage. Here, high‐quality crumpled graphene microflower (GmF) for high‐performance electrodes is designed. The GmF possesses four advantages simultaneously: highly crystallized defect‐free graphene layers, low stacking degree, sub‐millimeter continuous surface, and large productivity with low cost. When utilized as carbon host for sulfur cathode, the GmF‐sulfur hybrid delivers decent areal capacities of 5.2 mAh cm?2 at 0.1 C and 3.8 mAh cm?2 at 0.5 C. When utilized as cathode of Al‐ion battery, the GmF affords a high capacity of 100 mAh g?1 with 100% capacity retention after 5000 cycles and excellent rate capability from 0.1 to 20 A g?1. This facile and large‐scale producible GmF represents a meaningful high‐quality graphene powder for practical energy storage technology. Meanwhile, this unique high‐quality graphene design provides an effective route to improve electrochemical properties of graphene‐based electrodes.  相似文献

The distribution of suitable habitat influences natal and breeding dispersal at small spatial scales, resulting in strong microgeographic genetic structure. Although environmental variation can promote interpopulation differences in dispersal behavior and local spatial patterns, the effects of distinct ecological conditions on within‐species variation in dispersal strategies and in fine‐scale genetic structure remain poorly understood. We studied local dispersal and fine‐scale genetic structure in the thorn‐tailed rayadito (Aphrastura spinicauda), a South American bird that breeds along a wide latitudinal gradient. We combine capture‐mark‐recapture data from eight breeding seasons and molecular genetics to compare two peripheral populations with contrasting environments in Chile: Navarino Island, a continuous and low density habitat, and Fray Jorge National Park, a fragmented, densely populated and more stressful environment. Natal dispersal showed no sex bias in Navarino but was female‐biased in the more dense population in Fray Jorge. In the latter, male movements were restricted, and some birds seemed to skip breeding in their first year, suggesting habitat saturation. Breeding dispersal was limited in both populations, with males being more philopatric than females. Spatial genetic autocorrelation analyzes using 13 polymorphic microsatellite loci confirmed the observed dispersal patterns: a fine‐scale genetic structure was only detectable for males in Fray Jorge for distances up to 450 m. Furthermore, two‐dimensional autocorrelation analyzes and estimates of genetic relatedness indicated that related males tended to be spatially clustered in this population. Our study shows evidence for context‐dependent variation in natal dispersal and corresponding local genetic structure in peripheral populations of this bird. It seems likely that the costs of dispersal are higher in the fragmented and higher density environment in Fray Jorge, particularly for males. The observed differences in microgeographic genetic structure for rayaditos might reflect the genetic consequences of population‐specific responses to contrasting environmental pressures near the range limits of its distribution.  相似文献

目的:探讨三种衰弱评估量表对于老年冠心病患者衰弱病情评估的相关性及其影响因素。方法:选择2015年5月到2016年10月在老年医学中心确诊的120例冠心病患者作为研究对象,收集患者的临床资料,用Fried衰弱评分、临床衰弱量表(CFS)、爱特蒙特衰弱量表(EFS)对每位患者进行衰弱评估,将三种量表的评估结果进行相关性分析。结果:Fried评分、CFS评分与EFS评分判定为衰弱患者分别为6例、8例与14例,发生率为5.0%、6.7%和11.7%,组间对比无统计学意义,P0.05。直线相关分析显示Fried评分与CFS评分、EFS评分呈正向相关性(P0.05),对于冠心病患者衰弱评估具有一致性。对于冠心病衰弱程度评估中CFS评分与EFS评分之间比较差异无统计学意义(P0.05)。Cox回归分析显示文化水平、心功能分级、居住情况与睡眠障碍为Fried评分的主要影响因素(P0.05)。结论:三种衰弱评估量表对于冠心病患者衰弱病情评估具有一致性,但具有不同的临床应用价值;患者的文化水平、心功能分级、居住情况与睡眠障碍与衰弱的发生有相关性。  相似文献

Spider orb webs are dynamic, energy absorbing nets whose ability to intercept prey is dependent on both the mechnical properties of web design and the material properties of web silks. Variation in web designs reflects variation in spider web spinning behaviours and variation in web silks reflects variation in spider metabolic processes. Therefore, natural selection may affect web function (or prey capture) through two independent and alternative pathways. In this paper, I examine the ways in which architectural and material properties, singly and in concert, influence the ability of webs to absorb insect impact energy. These findings are evaluated in the context of the evolution of diverse aerial webs. Orb webs range along a continuum from high to low energy absorbing. No single feature of web architecture characterizes the amount of energy webs can absorb, but suites of characters indicate web function. In general, webs that intercept heavy and fast flying prey (high energy absorbing webs) are large, built by large spiders, suspended under high tension and characterized by a ratio of radii to spiral turns per web greater than one. In contrast, webs that intercept light and slow flying prey (low energy absorbing webs) are suspended under low tension, are small and are characterized by radial to spiral turn ratios that are less than one. The data suggest that for spiders building high energy absorbing webs, the orb architecture contributes much to web energy absorption. In contrast, for spiders that build low energy absorbing webs, orb architecture contributes little to enhance web energy absorption. Small or slow flying insects can be intercepted by web silks regardless of web design. Although there exists variation in the material properties of silk collected from high and low energy absorbing webs, only the diameter of web fibres varies predictably with silk energy absorption. Web fibre diameter and hence the amount of energy absorbed by web silks is an isometric function of spider size. The significance of these results lies in the apparent absence of selective advantage of orb architecture to low energy absorbing webs and the evolutionary trend to small spiders that build them. Where high energy absorption is not an exacting feature of web design, web architecture should not be tightly constrained to the orb. Assuming the primitive araneoid web design is the orb web, I propose that the evolution of alternative web building behaviours is a consequence of the general, phyletic trend to small size among araneoids. Araneoids that build webs of other than orb designs are able to use new habitats and resources not available to their ancestors.  相似文献

Frozen bagged seed inoculum was prepared, thawed and tested for seven cultures. Thawing techniques were developed and other key influences on thawing rate were quantified; seed bag thawing without a water bath rarely required more than 4 to 5 h and was as short as 0.5 to 1 h for lower fill volume bags. Testing included growth of bagged seed as a function of bag fill volume (0.5, 1.0, 2.0, and 3.5 L), comparison of culture age at time of bagging, growth of bagged versus laboratory-prepared seed, productivity of production cultures derived from bagged versus laboratory-prepared seed, growth of bagged seed as a function of volume percent glycerol added at time of bagging, and growth of bagged seed as a function of frozen storage time and temperature. For each culture tested, conditions were developed such that seed tanks inoculated with bagged seed showed only minimal delay in attaining the target oxygen uptake rate (OUR) relative to seed tanks inoculated with laboratory-prepared inoculum. Although the bag fill volume did influence culture growth in some cases, bag fill volumes required were reasonable (typically 2.0 to 3.5 L) compared with laboratory seed inoculum volumes of 2.0 L. In the most remarkable example, frozen bagged seed was prepared from a second-stage seed-tank cultivation of Glarca lozoyensis, then thawed and inoculated into first-stage seed medium. It grew to the desired OUR in a similar timeframe as laboratory-prepared inoculum inoculated into first-stage seed medium. Thus, the frozen bagged seed replaced an existing laboratory inoculum preparation period of 7 days without an appreciable delay in either of the two subsequent seed-tank growth stages. Furthermore, productivities were found to be comparable for bagged-seed-derived and laboratory-seed-derived production cultivations for four different fermentation processes.  相似文献
