目的:探讨等离子低温射频消融术联合鼻内镜对慢性鼻窦炎(CRS)患者嗅觉功能及血清炎症介质的影响。方法:选取2016年3月~2018年7月期间我院收治的CRS患者127例,根据手术方式的不同将患者分为A组(n=62,鼻内镜手术)和B组(n=65,等离子低温射频消融术联合鼻内镜手术),术后随访1年,比较两组患者临床疗效、症状评分、嗅觉功能、血清炎症介质及并发症情况。结果:B组术后1年的临床总有效率为87.69%(57/65),高于A组的72.58%(45/62)(P0.05);术后3个月B组的嗅觉功能分布优于A组(P0.05);两组患者术后3个月鼻塞、头面部胀痛、流脓涕、鼻涕倒流、头痛等症状评分均降低,且B组低于A组(P0.05)。两组患者术后1周血清白介素-5(IL-5)、白介素-17(IL-17)以及肿瘤坏死因子-α(TNF-α)均降低,且B组低于A组(P0.05)。两组术后并发症发生率比较无差异(P0.05)。结论:CRS在鼻内镜的基础上联合等离子低温射频消融术治疗的疗效显著,能够有效改善患者嗅觉功能和临床症状,抑制机体炎性反应的同时不增加并发症发生率。  相似文献

For the last two decades, a large number of studies have investigated the effects of mobile phone radiation on the human brain and cognition using behavioral or neurophysiological measurements. This review evaluated previous findings with respect to study design and data analysis. Provocation studies found no evidence of subjective symptoms attributed to mobile phone radiation, suggesting psychological reasons for inducing such symptoms in hypersensitive people. Behavioral studies previously reported improved cognitive performance under exposure, but it was likely to have occurred by chance due to multiple comparisons. Recent behavioral studies and replication studies with more conservative statistics found no significant effects compared with original studies. Neurophysiological studies found no significant effects on cochlear and brainstem auditory processing, but only inconsistent results on spontaneous and evoked brain electrical activity. The inconsistent findings suggest possible false positives due to multiple comparisons and thus replication is needed. Other approaches such as brain hemodynamic response measurements are promising but the findings are few and not yet conclusive. Rigorous study design and data analysis considering multiple comparisons and effect size are required to reduce controversy in this important field of research.  相似文献

In this in vivo study, we measured local temperature changes in rabbit pinnae, which were evoked by radiofrequency (RF) exposure for 20 min at localized SAR levels of 0 (sham exposure), 2.3, 10.0, and 34.3 W/kg over 1.0 g rabbit ear tissue. The effects of RF exposures on skin temperature were measured under normal blood flow and without blood flow in the ear. The results showed: (1) physiological blood flow clearly modified RF induced thermal elevation in the pinna as blood flow significantly suppressed temperature increases even at 34.3 W/kg; (2) under normal blood flow conditions, exposures at 2.3 and 10.0 W/kg, approximating existing safety limits for the general public (2 W/kg) and occupational exposure (10 W/kg), did not induce significant temperature rises in the rabbit ear. However, 2.3 W/kg induced local skin temperature elevation under no blood flow conditions. Our results demonstrate that the physiological effects of blood flow should be considered when extrapolating modeling data to living animals, and particular caution is needed when interpreting the results of modeling studies that do not include blood flow.  相似文献

The proximity of a mobile phone to the human eye raises the question as to whether radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic fields (EMF) affect the visual system. A basic characteristic of the human eye is its light sensitivity, making the visual discrimination threshold (VDThr) a suitable parameter for the investigation of potential effects of RF exposure on the eye. The VDThr was measured for 33 subjects under standardized conditions. Each subject took part in two experiments (RF-exposure and sham-exposure experiment) on different days. In each experiment, the VDThr was measured continuously in time intervals of about 10 s for two periods of 30 min, having a break of 5 min in between. The sequence of the two experiments was randomized, and the study was single blinded. During the RF exposure, a GSM signal of 902.4 MHz (pulsed with 217 Hz) was applied to the subjects. The power flux density of the electromagnetic field at the subject location (in the absence of the subject) was 1 W/m(2), and numerical dosimetry calculations determined corresponding maximum local averaged specific absorption rate (SAR) values in the retina of SAR(1 g) = 0.007 W/kg and SAR(10 g) = 0.003 W/kg. No statistically significant differences in the VDThr were found in comparing the data obtained for RF exposure with those for sham exposure.  相似文献

For 35 years, I have been involved in various bioelectromagnetics research projects including acute and long-term radiofrequency (RF) bioeffects studies, dosimetry, exposure systems, MRI safety, cancer studies involving hyperthermia and electrochemical treatment, development of RF exposure and measurement standards, and product compliance. My first study demonstrated that effects on isolated nerve and muscle preparations were due to thermal effects of RF exposure. The recording of cochlear microphonics in animals shows the mechanical nature of the microwave auditory effect. In 1992, we published the results of a large-scale lifetime study in which 100 rats were sham-exposed and 100 rats were exposed for 21 h/day for 25 months to a pulsed RF signal. In dosimetry studies, human models were employed as well as many animal species including mice, rats, rabbits, monkeys, and birds of many sizes. Cancer hyperthermia studies demonstrated that knowledge of temperature distribution was crucial for successful treatment. Research on electrochemical treatment of tumors with direct current involved cellular, animal, and clinical studies. Over the past few decades, there has been rather extensive investigation of the public health impact of RF exposure. In my opinion, future research in bioelectromagnetics should place greater emphasis on medical applications.  相似文献

Despite considerable advances in guidance of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) therapy for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, success rates have been hampered by a lack of tools for precise intraoperative evaluation of lesion extent. Near‐infrared spectroscopic (NIRS) techniques are sensitive to tissue structural and biomolecular properties, characteristics that are directly altered by radiofrequency (RF) treatment. In this work, a combined NIRS‐RFA catheter is developed for real‐time monitoring of tissue reflectance during RF energy delivery. An algorithm is proposed for processing NIR spectra to approximate nonirrigated lesion depth in both atrial and ventricular tissues. The probe optical geometry was designed to bias measurement influence toward absorption enabling enhanced sensitivity to changes in tissue composition. A set of parameters termed “lesion optical indices” are defined encapsulating spectral differences between ablated and unablated tissue. Utilizing these features, a model for real‐time tissue spectra classification and lesion size estimation is presented. Experimental validation conducted within freshly excised porcine cardiac specimens showed strong concordance between algorithm estimates and post‐hoc tissue assessment.   相似文献

The purpose of this study is to bridge this gap by investigating effects of long term 900?MHz mobile phone exposure on reproductive organs of male rats. The study was carried out on 14 adult Wistar Albino rats by dividing them randomly into two groups (n: 7) as sham group and exposure group. Rats were exposed to 900?MHz radiofrequency (RF) radiation emitted from a GSM signal generator. Point, 1?g and 10?g specific absorption rate (SAR) levels of testis and prostate were found as 0.0623?W/kg, 0.0445?W/kg and 0.0373?W/kg, respectively. The rats in the exposure group were subject to RF radiation 3?h per day (7?d a week) for one year. For the sham group, the same procedure was applied, except the generator was turned off. At the end of the study, epididymal sperm concentration, progressive sperm motility, abnormal sperm rate, all-genital organs weights and testis histopathology were evaluated. ABSTRACT

This review aims to cover experimental data on oxidative effects of low-intensity radiofrequency radiation (RFR) in living cells. Analysis of the currently available peer-reviewed scientific literature reveals molecular effects induced by low-intensity RFR in living cells; this includes significant activation of key pathways generating reactive oxygen species (ROS), activation of peroxidation, oxidative damage of DNA and changes in the activity of antioxidant enzymes. It indicates that among 100 currently available peer-reviewed studies dealing with oxidative effects of low-intensity RFR, in general, 93 confirmed that RFR induces oxidative effects in biological systems. A wide pathogenic potential of the induced ROS and their involvement in cell signaling pathways explains a range of biological/health effects of low-intensity RFR, which include both cancer and non-cancer pathologies. In conclusion, our analysis demonstrates that low-intensity RFR is an expressive oxidative agent for living cells with a high pathogenic potential and that the oxidative stress induced by RFR exposure should be recognized as one of the primary mechanisms of the biological activity of this kind of radiation.  相似文献

The avian magnetic compass works in a fairly narrow functional window around the intensity of the local geomagnetic field, but adjusts to intensities outside this range when birds experience these new intensities for a certain time. In the past, the geomagnetic field has often been much weaker than at present. To find out whether birds can obtain directional information from a weak magnetic field, we studied spontaneous orientation preferences of migratory robins in a 4 µT field (i.e. a field of less than 10 per cent of the local intensity of 47 µT). Birds can adjust to this low intensity: they turned out to be disoriented under 4 µT after a pre-exposure time of 8 h to 4 µT, but were able to orient in this field after a total exposure time of 17 h. This demonstrates a considerable plasticity of the avian magnetic compass. Orientation in the 4 µT field was not affected by local anaesthesia of the upper beak, but was disrupted by a radiofrequency magnetic field of 1.315 MHz, 480 nT, suggesting that a radical-pair mechanism still provides the directional information in the low magnetic field. This is in agreement with the idea that the avian magnetic compass may have developed already in the Mesozoic in the common ancestor of modern birds.  相似文献

Most epidemiologic studies of potential health impacts of mobile phones rely on self‐reported information, which can lead to exposure misclassification. We compared self‐reported questionnaire data among 60 participants, and phone billing records over a 3‐year period (2002–2004). Phone usage information was compared by the calculation of the mean and median number of calls and duration of use, as well as correlation coefficients and associated P‐values. Average call duration from self‐reports was slightly lower than billing records (2.1 min vs. 2.8 min, P = 0.01). Participants reported a higher number of average daily calls than billing records (7.9 vs. 4.1, P = 0.002). Correlation coefficients for average minutes per day of mobile phone use and average number of calls per day were relatively high (R = 0.71 and 0.69, respectively, P < 0.001). Information reported at the monthly level tended to be more accurate than estimates of weekly or daily use. Our findings of modest correlations between self‐reported mobile phone usage and billing records and substantial variability in recall are consistent with previous studies. However, the direction of over‐ and under‐reporting was not consistent with previous research. We did not observe increased variability over longer periods of recall or a pattern of lower accuracy among older age groups compared with younger groups. Study limitations included a relatively small sample size, low participation rates, and potential limited generalizability. The variability within studies and non‐uniformity across studies indicates that estimation of the frequency and duration of phone use by questionnaires should be supplemented with subscriber records whenever practical.
