Summary The effect of wounds on the volatile terpene composition of the living bark of Pinus pinaster Ait. (maritime pine) twigs was investigated with respect to the processes of mono- and sesquiterpene hydrocarbon biosynthesis. The large increase in the amounts of - and -pinene is a characteristic feature after a mechanical injury, whereas the quantities of the other terpenes are only slightly increased. This is due to the reactivation of the resin duct secretory cells of primary origin located in cortical tissues. The effect of wounding is observed over a long period and the terpene profiles are very different at the end of the experiments as compared with the initial profiles of the same tissues. The traumatic essential oil (obtained after mechanical traumatism) resembles an oleoresin extracted from tissues of secondary origin. Statistical analysis underlines the effects of the between-tree variations and of the dates of application of the wound. 相似文献

云南,四川等省市售的中草药“一口钟”为蓝桉(Eucalyptus globulus Labill.)的果实.用气相色谱-质谱-计算机联用技术、标准品迭加和毛细管保留指数定性法,对其精油的化学成分进行分析.从分离的65个成分中,鉴定出36个成分,其含量占总组成的93.80%,主要成分是别香树烯(23.37%),1.8-桉叶油素(20.81%)、金合欢醇(9.95%)、α-水芹烯(8.30%)、δ-愈创木烯(5.95%)、δ-蒎烯(4.09%)、β-水芹烯(3.43%)、α-愈创木烯(3.15%)等. 相似文献

Abstract High level expression of the functional β-carotene ketolase gene bkt from Haematococcus pluvialis occurred in Escherichia coli transformants producing β-carotene or zeaxanthin as a result of the presence of additional carotenoid genes from Erwinia uredovora . Requirement of molecular oxygen for the insertion of the keto group was demonstrated. The final product of this two-step ketolase reaction from β-carotene is canthaxanthin (4,4'-diketo-β-carotene) with the 4-monoketo derivative echinenone as an intermediate. A reaction sequence for the formation of astaxanthin from β-carotene was established based on kinetic data on astaxanthin formation in E. coli transformants carrying the hydroxylase gene crtZ from Erwinia along with bkt . We conclude that the carotenoids zeaxanthin and adonixanthin which accumulate in addition to astaxanthin in this transformant are products of side reactions rather than direct precursors of astaxanthin. Procedures are deseribed for the efficient isolation of protoplasts from a variety of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) tissues. Various factors including donor source, composition of enzyme mixture and culture medium affected the yield and viability of the protoplasts Polyembryogenic cultures of oil palm were the most suitable starting material in terms of yield, viability and metabolic competence. Pectolyase Y-23 in association with cellulase and hemicellulase was required for the efficient release of protoplasts from the oil palm tissues.
