To simplify and facilitate beating heart (i.e., off-pump), minimally invasive coronary artery bypass surgery, a new coronary anastomotic connector, the Trinity Clip, is developed based on the excimer laser-assisted nonocclusive anastomosis technique. The Trinity Clip connector enables simplified, sutureless, and nonocclusive connection of the graft to the coronary artery, and an excimer laser catheter laser-punches the opening of the anastomosis. Consequently, owing to the complete nonocclusive anastomosis construction, coronary conditioning (i.e., occluding or shunting) is not necessary, in contrast to the conventional anastomotic technique, hence simplifying the off-pump bypass procedure. Prior to clinical application in coronary artery bypass grafting, the safety and quality of this novel connector will be evaluated in a long-term experimental porcine off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) study. In this paper, we describe how to evaluate the coronary anastomosis in the porcine OPCAB model using various techniques to assess its quality. Representative results are summarized and visually demonstrated.  相似文献

Following the 2nd release of the “Emerging PV reports,” the best achievements in the performance of emerging photovoltaic devices in diverse emerging photovoltaic research subjects are summarized, as reported in peer-reviewed articles in academic journals since August 2021. Updated graphs, tables, and analyses are provided with several performance parameters, e.g., power conversion efficiency, open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current density, fill factor, light utilization efficiency, and stability test energy yield. These parameters are presented as a function of the photovoltaic bandgap energy and the average visible transmittance for each technology and application, and are put into perspective using, e.g., the detailed balance efficiency limit. The 3rd installment of the “Emerging PV reports” extends the scope toward triple junction solar cells.  相似文献

This study synthesized BaMoO4:Eu3+ red phosphors using the microwave method. In addition, the phase composition, morphology, and luminescence properties of the red phosphors were characterized using X-ray diffraction, field-scanning electron microscopy, and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The results revealed that doping red phosphors with different concentrations of Eu3+ does not change the crystal structure of the matrix material. The BaMoO4:Eu3+ phosphors exhibited micron-scale irregular polyhedra, which could be excited by ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 395 nm to induce red-light emission. The optimal dosage of Eu3+ was 0.08, and the chromaticity coordinates of BaMoO4:0.08Eu3+ phosphors were (0.5869, 0.3099). White light-emitting diode (w-LED) devices manufactured by using a combination of BaMoO4:0.08Eu3+ phosphor and commercially available phosphors exhibited good white-light emission under the excitation of an ultraviolet chip. The BaMoO4:0.08Eu3+ red phosphors that rapidly synthesized under the microwave field are expected to be used in w-LED devices.  相似文献

BackgroundThe aim of the study was to evaluate analysis criteria for the identification of the presence of rectal gas during volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) for prostate cancer patients by using electronic portal imaging device (EPID)-based in vivo dosimetry (IVD).Materials and methodsAll measurements were performed by determining the cumulative EPID images in an integrated acquisition mode and analyzed using PerFRACTION commercial software. Systematic setup errors were simulated by moving the anthropomorphic phantom in each translational and rotational direction. The inhomogeneity regions were also simulated by the I’mRT phantom attached to the Quasar phantom. The presence of small and large air cavities (12 and 48 cm3) was controlled by moving the Quasar phantom in several timings during VMAT. Sixteen prostate cancer patients received EPID-based IVD during VMAT.ResultsIn the phantom study, no systematic setup error was detected in the range that can happen in clinical (< 5-mm and < 3 degree). The pass rate of 2% dose difference (DD2%) in small and large air cavities was 98.74% and 79.05%, respectively, in the appearance of the air cavity after irradiation three quarter times. In the clinical study, some fractions caused a sharp decline in the DD2% pass rate. The proportion for DD2% < 90% was 13.4% of all fractions. Rectal gas was confirmed in 11.0% of fractions by acquiring kilo-voltage X-ray images after the treatment.ConclusionsOur results suggest that analysis criteria of 2% dose difference in EPID-based IVD was a suitable method for identification of rectal gas during VMAT for prostate cancer patients.  相似文献

The degree of polymerization can cause significant changes in the blend microstructure and physical mechanism of the active layer of non-fullerene polymer solar cells, resulting in a huge difference in device performance. However, the diversity of stability issues, including photobleaching stability, storage stability, photostability, thermal stability, and mechanical stability, and more, poses a challenge for the degree of polymerization to comprehensively address the trade-off between device efficiency and stability and reasonably evaluate the application potential of polymer materials. Herein, a series of PM6 polymers with different weight-average molecular weights (Mw) and polydispersity index (PDI) are synthesized. The effects of the degree of PM6 polymerization on the efficiency and degradation behaviors of the photovoltaic systems based on Y6 as acceptor are investigated systematically. The findings regarding stability issues, together with the trade-offs in the efficiency-stability gap, formulate a complete guideline for the material design and performance evaluation in a way that relies much less on trial-and-error efforts.  相似文献

Centchroman, a nonsteroidal antifertility agent was studied for its binding to monkey (Macaca mulatta) plasma proteins using charcoal adsorption and electrophoretic techniques. 14C-centchroman showed a low affinity binding and did not compete for 3H-cortisol or 3H-DHT binding sites in plasma. 14C-centchroman binding protein was heat stable in nature and showed the electrophoretic pattern similar to that of albumin (Rf 0.70). Thus centchroman binds to albumin in monkey plasma which can be suggested as carrier protein for this contraceptive agent.  相似文献

A novel method for direct determination of the time integral of free corticosterone levels in interstitial fluid was used to measure corticosterone availability at rest and during free-operant shock-avoidance (SA) training in male rats. The method employs a subcutaneously implanted device to continuously accumulate the free hormone at a rate proportional to local concentration. The proportional rate of accumulation is maintained by providing mass-action corticosterone binding capacity within the device such that the device establishes a diffusion gradient for free corticosterone. The rate of uptake is limited so as to avoid disturbing equilibrium between free and bound hormone in the environment of the device. Corticosterone accumulation increased to 3× baseline during SA and was dexamethasone suppressible. These findings demonstrate the utility of a method uniquely combining specific measurement of free hormone with time integration to yield estimates of hormone availability during behavioral performance by an untethered subject. The method is suggested to be applicable to measurement of an extremely wide variety of drugs and hormones, under generally nonconstraining conditions.  相似文献

Summary The structural relationship between the basal lamina and the underlying reticular tissue was studied, with special attention to the relationship among basal lamina-associated anchoring fibrillar (AF) arcs (Kawanami et al. 1978, 1979) and other fibrillar components, in the epithelium-denuded trachea of the rat. Quantitative analysis of a large number of AF arcs reveals that the majority of the AF arcs has no other fibrillar components of passage. This suggests that most AF arcs do not serve as a real anchoring device, connecting the basal lamina with the underlying reticular tissue, as has so far been suggested by Kawanami et al. (1978). Ruthenium-red staining reveals the presence of a unique meshwork of microthread-like filaments connecting the undersurface of the basal lamina or the AF arcs with the underlying fibrillar components with a remarkable continuity, suggesting that the filaments act as a real anchoring device; these filaments link, instead of the AF arcs, the basal lamina, to the subjacent reticular tissue. Various enzymatic treatments of the filaments indicate that their chemical nature is probably non-collagenous (glyco)protein without glycosaminoglycan moieties.  相似文献

Zinc finger protein 185 (ZNF185) belongs to the ZNF family and is involved in male reproduction. However, it is unclear whether ZNF185 may be a target candidate for contraceptive vaccines. In this study, antigenic peptides derived from ZNF185 were prepared, and their immune contraceptive effects were investigated using mice. Results from enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay (ELISAs) showed that peptide immunization induced an antibody titre increase that reached a peak in week 12. Peptide‐3 and peptide‐4 were then chosen for subsequent experiments. The results of the fertility assays showed that peptide immunization inhibited the mating and fertility rates of the mice, whereas there were no obvious changes in the number of pups per litter. Subsequently, epididymal sperm was analysed. The results demonstrated that the sperm count and sperm motility were significantly decreased in the peptide group, while the amount of abnormal sperm was significantly increased in the peptide‐3 group. The male reproductive organs were also evaluated. There were no obvious differences in testis or epididymal weights, in the diameters of the seminiferous tubules, or in the thicknesses of the seminiferous epithelium between the peptide group and the phosphate buffer saline (PBS) group. In addition, histological analysis indicated that there were no obvious pathologic changes in testis and epididymal histology in the peptide group; however, the number of spermatozoa present in the epididymal lumen of the peptide group was significantly decreased when compared with the PBS group. Our study demonstrates for the first time that peptides derived from ZNF185 may induce fertility suppression in mice without damaging reproductive organs. These peptides have the potential to be used as a male contraceptive vaccine.  相似文献

A modified detailed balance model is built to understand and quantify efficiency loss of perovskite solar cells. The modified model captures the light‐absorption‐dependent short‐circuit current, contact and transport‐layer‐modified carrier transport, as well as recombination and photon‐recycling‐influenced open‐circuit voltage. The theoretical and experimental results show that for experimentally optimized perovskite solar cells with the power conversion efficiency of 19%, optical loss of 25%, nonradiative recombination loss of 35%, and ohmic loss of 35% are the three dominant loss factors for approaching the 31% efficiency limit of perovskite solar cells. It is also found that the optical loss climbs up to 40% for a thin‐active‐layer design. Moreover, a misconfigured transport layer introduces above 15% of energy loss. Finally, the perovskite‐interface‐induced surface recombination, ohmic loss, and current leakage should be further reduced to upgrade device efficiency and eliminate hysteresis effect. This work contributes to fundamental understanding of device physics of perovskite solar cells. The developed model offers a systematic design and analysis tool to photovoltaic science and technology.  相似文献
