水稻品种超氧物歧化酶(SOD)活性与氧抑光合的关系   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
O_2抑光合程度不同的水稻品种,SOD活性存在差异。在40%O_2下,SOD活性被诱导增加水平高、延续时间长的品种,表现O_2抑光合程度小,反之则O_2抑光合程度大。在自然条件下,强光、高温都是诱导SOD活性变化的因素。选择SOD活性高、O_2抑光合程度小的种质资源可能有利于适应对光合不利的逆境条件。  相似文献

Plasma copper and zinc levels were measured in SJL/J mice, an inbred strain characterized by a high, spontaneous incidence of reticulum cell sarcoma (RCS). The changes with age in mean concentrations of these metals were consistent with a physiological response that is required for remission of neoplasia. Treatment of SJL/J mice with a copper complex, Cu(II)(3,4-diisopropylsalicylate)2 (Cu 3,5-DIPS), dissolved in a 10% Tween 80-saline solution revealed a decrease in survival and decline in the incidence of RCS at 52 wk of age. The toxic effects of Cu 3,5-DIPS therapy appeared to be related to the intraperitoneal route of administration and to extracellular deposition of collagen. The inhibitory effect on tumor development was not related to Cu 3,5-DIPS. Rather, Tween 80 was found to be the factor of importance.  相似文献

The recent model of Kambara and Govindjee for water oxidation [Kambara T. and Govindjee (1985) Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A., 82:6119–6123] has been extended in this paper by examining all the data in order to identify the most likely candidate for the redox-active ligand (RAL), suggested to operate between the water oxidizing complex (WOC) and Z, the electron donor to the reaction center P680. We have concluded that a very suitable candidate for RAL is the imidazole moiety of a histidine residue. The electrochemical data available on imidazole derivatives play heavily in this identification of RAL. Thus, we suggest that histidine might play the role of an electron mediator between the WOC and Z. ABSTRACT. Eggs and neonate larvae of chrysomelid beetles (sub-tribes Chrysomelina and Phyllodectina) were investigated for the presence of defensive substances.
The two isoxazolinone glucosides (compounds 1 and 2), characteristic of the adult defence secretion, were detected in the eggs of all studied species. Compound 2, containing a nitropropionate, is always present in concentrations (above 10-2 M), which are highly deterrent to the ant Myrmica rubra. This compound is not at all or only slightly toxic to ants at 10-2 M. Compound 1, devoid of nitropropionate, is a minor constituent, and is neither deterrent nor toxic to ants.
The five Chrysomela species studied and Phratora vitellinae also sequester salicin in their eggs in amounts highly deterrent and toxic to ants. A single Chrysomela egg often contains enough salicin to kill an ant. While the isoxazolinones are discarded with the egg shells, salicin is used by neonate larvae as a precursor for the production of salicylaldehyde in the thoracic defence glands, already functional at hatching. No salicin could be detected in the eggs of those species whose larvae produce cyclopentanoid monoterpenes, even if they feed on Salicaceae. No larva of any species seems to be able to produce detectable amounts of monoterpenes at birth. A very early defence, possible only in those species using salicin as the precursor for their defensive secretion, could be highly advantageous in protecting the clustered larvae during the long process of hatching and in avoiding cannibalism between siblings.
Only trace amounts of oleic acid were found in the eggs of Gastrophysa viridula , in contrast to previous reports on its presence in large quantities in the American G. cyanea.  相似文献

Abstract A mass spectrometer with membrane inlet was used to study methanol metabolism by Methanosarcina barkeri strain MS. The addition of methanol to methanol grown culture samples in the mass spectrometer vessel stimulated methanogenesis and hydrogen production. The apparent K s for methanol was determined as 0.5 mM and the V max as 8.14 mmol g (dry weight) h−1. The V max for methane production was fairly constant during growth of the culture on methanol implying that growth is tightly coupled to methanogenesis. The addition of methanol to culture samples in the mass spectrometer vessel stimulated methanogenesis with no lag which indicated that methanogenesis can be uncoupled from growth. Exposure of the culture sample in the mass spectrometer vessel to an atmosphere of 2 kPa oxygen for 80 min resulted in a decrease in the rate of methanogenesis from methanol but on returning the atmosphere to nitrogen the addition of further methanol stimulated methanogenesis. The effect of other inhibitors of methanogenesis (2-bromoethane sulphonate and monensin); K j values 21.5 μM and 0.3 mM, respectively) were also studied.  相似文献

A chronic intoxication with carbaryl, fenthion and lindane was induced in young snails. The parameter k of the von Bertalanffy's equation showed clearly the growth changes induced by these insecticides. In all cases the fecundity of intoxicated snails was reduced. Among these three insecticides, lindane was the most toxic, carbaryl the least.  相似文献

Temperature and oxygen regimes were monitored weekly in a four-year old reservoir and downstream for ten weeks during the summer (May 15 to July 30, 1979), and monthly in the fall and winter. During the summer discharge levels were changed from top to bottom in the eighth week, back to top in the ninth, all at 0.71 m3/s (= 25 cfs), and returned to the bottom in the tenth, but at 1.14 m3/s (= 40 cfs). Changing the discharge level had little or no impact on the thermal regime within the lake or downstream at 1.14 m3/s and only a moderate impact on water in the lake near the dam at 0.71 m3/s bottom discharge by generating double thermoclines. Oxygen depletion rates were greatest near the surface of the lake, mainly due to temperature effects, but increased greatly at the 3 m depth, the level of the top discharge port, when discharge was changed from bottom to top. Discharge of anoxic waters through the bottom of the dam caused a drop in oxygen content immediately downstream but oxygen content returned to inflow values within 1 km downstream of the dam.  相似文献

The development of phosphate deficiency (P-stress) was observed in rooted sprouts of Solanum tuberosum L. cv. Desiree growing in solutions without phosphate. Shoot growth was inhibited by P-stress within 3 to 5 days of terminating the phosphate supply, while significant effects on root growth were not recorded until 7 to 9 days. Thus, the shoot:root dry weight ratio decreased from 4.3 to 2.6 over a 10-day period. Growth in the absence of an exogenous phosphate supply progressively diluted the phosphorus in the plant. The proportional decrease in concentration was similar in roots and shoots over a 7-day period, even though the former were growing more quickly. The potential for phosphate uptake per unit weight of root increased rapidly during the first 3 days of P-stress. When the plants were provided subsequently with a labelled, 1 mol m?3 phosphate solution, the absorption rate was 3 to 4-fold greater than that of control plants which had received a continuous phosphate supply. The increased rate of uptake by P-stressed plants was accounted for by an increase (3-fold) in the Vmax of system 1 for phosphate transport and by a marked increase in the affinity of the system for phosphate (decrease in Km). In the early stages of P-stress, before marked changes in growth were measured, the proportion of labelled phosphate translocated to the shoots increased slightly relative to the controls when a phosphate supply was restored. In the later stages of stress a greater proportion was retained in the root system of P-stressed plants than in that of controls. In plants with roots divided between solutions containing or lacking a phosphate supply, the increased absorption rate was determined by the general demand for phosphate in the plant and not by the P-status of the particular root where uptake was measured. By contrast, the poportion translocated was strongly dependent on the P-status of the root. The restoration of a phosphate supply to P-stressed plants was marked by a rapid increase in the P concentration in snoots and roots which returned to levels similar to unstressed controls within 24 h. The enhanced uptake rate persisted for at least 5 days, resulting in supra-normal concentrations of P in both shoots and roots, and in the formation of extensive necrotic areas between the veins of mature leaves. Autoradiographs showed accumulations of 32P in these lesions and at the points where guttation droplets formed on leaves.  相似文献

Four new tetranortriterpenes, meliatoxins A1, A2, B1 and B2 have been isolated and identified as toxic constituents of the fruit of Melia azedarach L. var. australasica. Toxicity and pathological results confirm that the meliatoxins are responsible for most but not all of the symptoms resulting from the ingestion of whole fruit.  相似文献
