The design of scaffolds for solubilizing/dispersing poorly water-soluble bioactive molecules in neutral aqueous media is a major challenge of functional food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics development, as highlighted by the plethora of corresponding solubilization/dispersion strategies. Herein, renatured β-1,3-1,6-glucan (r-glucan) nanoparticles prepared by neutralization of alkali-denatured β-1,3-1,6-glucan and subsequent centrifugation are used as a host to disperse water-insoluble bioactive molecules (curcumin, all-trans-retinoic acid, and rebamipide) by simple mixing of host and guest solutions. Curcumin in the r-glucan cavity is found to be stacked in the form of J-aggregates and twisted along the helix, and is demonstrated to be retained for significantly longer than curcumin in the corresponding γ-cyclodextrin (γ-CD) complex. Specifically, curcumin incorporated in γ-CD is released within 5.5 hours, whereas that in the r-glucan complex is released very slowly, with 12% of curcumin in the latter complex retained after 31-day incubation at 37°C. Thus, inclusion protocol simplicity and slow release ability make r-glucan nanoparticles a potential carrier scaffold for various applications.  相似文献

The effect of adding ethylammonium nitrate (EAN), which is an ionic liquid (IL), on the aggregate formation of α-synuclein (α-Syn) in aqueous solution has been investigated. FTIR and Raman spectroscopy were used to investigate changes in the secondary structure of α-Syn and in the states of water molecules and EAN. The results presented here show that the addition of EAN to α-Syn causes the formation of an intermolecular β-sheet structure in the following manner: native disordered state → polyproline II (PPII)-helix → intermolecular β-sheet (α-Syn amyloid-like aggregates: α-SynA). Although cations and anions of EAN play roles in masking the charged side chains and PPII-helix-forming ability involved in the formation of α-SynA, water molecules are not directly related to its formation. We conclude that EAN-induced α-Syn amyloid-like aggregates form at hydrophobic associations in the middle of the molecules after masking the charged side chains at the N- and C-terminals of α-Syn.  相似文献

The article commences with a review focusing on three critical aspects of the perovskite/Si tandem technology: the evolution of efficiencies to date, comparisons of Si subcell choices, and the interconnection design strategies. Building on this review, a clear route is provided for minimizing optical losses aided by optical simulations of a recently reported high‐efficiency perovskite/Si tandem system, optimizations which result in tandem current densities of ≈20 mAcm?2 with front‐side texture. The primary focus is on electrical modeling on the Si‐subcell, in order to understand the efficiency potential of this cell under filtered light in a tandem configuration. The possibility of increasing the Si subcell efficiency by 1% absolute is offered through joint improvements to the bulk lifetime, which exceeds 4 ms, and improves surface passivation quality to saturation current densities below 10 fA cm?2. Polycrystalline‐Si/SiOx passivating contacts are proposed as a promising alternative to partial‐area rear contacts, with the potential for further simplifying cell fabrication and improving device performance. A combination of optical modeling of the complete tandem structure alongside electrical modeling of the Si‐subcell, both with state‐of‐the‐art modeling tools, provides the first complete picture of the practical efficiency potential of perovskite/Si tandems.  相似文献

Annual influenza B virus epidemics and outbreaks cause severe influenza diseases in humans and pose a threat to public health. China is an important epidemic area of influenza B viruses. However, the spatial, temporal transmission pathways and the demography history of influenza B viruses in China remain unknown. We collected the haemagglutinin gene sequences sampled of influenza B virus in China between 1973 and 2018. A Bayesian Markov chain Monte Carlo phylogeographic discrete approach was used to infer the spatial and temporal phylodynamics of influenza B virus. The Bayesian phylogeographic analysis of influenza B viruses showed that the North subtropical and South subtropical zones are the origins of the Victoria and Yamagata lineage viruses, respectively. Furthermore, the South temperate and North subtropical zones acted as transition nodes in the Victoria lineage virus dispersion network and that the North subtropical and Mid subtropical zones acted as transition nodes in the Yamagata lineage virus dispersion network. Our findings contribute to the knowledge regarding the spatial and temporal patterns of influenza B virus outbreaks in China.  相似文献

美国白蛾Hyphantria cunea Drury是我国重要的林业检疫性害虫之一,世界范围内寄主多达600余种,对我国林业生产和生态环境建设造成了巨大损失。明确美国白蛾幼虫消化道各部分的形态结构,可为进一步研究其幼虫的食性及消化机能奠定基础。利用光学显微镜、扫描电子显微镜与透射电子显微镜观察了美国白蛾6龄幼虫消化道形态及超微结构。美国白蛾幼虫的消化道由前肠、中肠、后肠组成。前肠是消化道最长的部分,占整个消化道的54.27%,包括咽、食道、嗉囊、前胃四部分;中肠较短,占整个消化道的21.28%,内部具围食膜;后肠由幽门、回肠、结肠和直肠组成,幽门由幽门锥和幽门瓣组成。马氏管共6条,丝腺2条。美国白蛾幼虫消化道总体结构大部分鳞翅目消化道结构相似,但是其前肠在长度上发生了较大的变异,本文进一步讨论了美国白蛾幼虫消化道结构与其食性及耐饥饿能力等的相关性。  相似文献

城市街谷是现代城市最重要的空间形式与特征之一,是城市中使用频率最高、汽车尾气污染最严重、日常人口密度最大的公共空间类型之一。城市街谷不合理的空间配置和结构会造成城市通风自净能力降低,大气污染物浓度增高。本文综述了城市街谷形态、行道树配置、机动车车流量和气象因素等对街谷大气污染物分布的影响,以及数值模拟、风洞试验和实地监测等用于街谷大气污染物分布及扩散研究的相关方法。建议未来以实地监测数据为基础,综合考虑多种因素对街谷大气污染物分布的研究,提出适宜城市大气污染物扩散的城市街谷构建模式,从城市规划和格局优化的角度为城市大气污染物的减控提出科学支撑和优化方案。  相似文献

Osteoarthritis in synovial joints remains a major cause of long-term disability worldwide, with symptoms produced by the progressive deterioration of the articular cartilage. The earliest cartilage changes are thought to be alteration in its main protein components, namely proteoglycan and collagen. Loss of proteoglycans bound in the collagen matrix which maintain hydration and stiffness of the structure is followed by collagen degradation and loss. The development of new treatments for early osteoarthritis is limited by the lack of accurate biomarkers to assess the loss of proteoglycan. One potential biomarker is magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). We present the results of a novel MRI methodology, Fast Field-Cycling (FFC), to assess changes in critical proteins by demonstrating clear quantifiable differences in signal from normal and osteoarthritic human cartilage for in vitro measurements. We further tested proteoglycan extracted cartilage and the key components individually. Three clear signals were identified, two of which are related predominantly to the collagen component of cartilage and the third, a unique very short-lived signal, is directly related to proteoglycan content; we have not seen this in any other tissue type. In addition, we present the first volunteer human scan from our whole-body FFC scanner where articular cartilage measurements are in keeping with those we have shown in tissue samples. This new clinical imaging modality offers the prospect of non-invasive monitoring of human cartilage in vivo and hence the assessment of potential treatments for osteoarthritis. The growth dispersion of farmed fish is a subject of increasing interest and one of the most important factors in stocking density. On a duration of 60 days, the effect of stocking density on the growth, coefficient of variation and inter-individual variation of feed intake (CVFI) of juvenile Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus L. (14.9 ± 1.2 g) were studied in an experimental tank-based flow-through system. Groups of fish were stocked at four stocking densities: 200, 400, 600 and 800 fish/m3, corresponding to a density of ∼3, 6, 9 and 12 kg/m3 and referred to as D1, D2, D3 and D4, respectively. Each treatment was applied to triplicate groups in a completely randomized design. No treatment-related mortality was observed. The fish densities increased throughout the experiment from 3 to 23.5, 6 to 43.6, 9 to 56.6 and 12 to 69 kg/m3. Results show that mass gain and specific growth rate (SGR, %M/day) were negatively correlated with increased stocking density. Groups of the D1 treatment reached a mean final body mass (FBM) of 119.3 g v. 88.9 g for the D4 groups. Feed conversion ratios (FCRs) were 1.38, 1.54, 1.62 and 1.91 at D1, D2, D3 and D4 treatments, respectively. Growth heterogeneity, expressed by the inter-individual variations of fish mass (CVM), was significantly affected by time (P < 0.001), stocking density (P < 0.001) and their interaction (P < 0.05). The difference in CVM was particularly conspicuous towards the end of the experiment and was positively correlated with stocking density. Similarly, radiographic study shows that CVFI was also found to be significantly greater for groups reared at high stocking densities (D3 and D4) than the other treatments (D1 and D2). These differences in both CVM and CVFI related to the stocking density need to be taken into account by husbandry practices to assure the production of more homogeneous fish size. A simple economic analysis indicates a parabolic relationship between profit and density with optimal final density at the peak of the curve. Given reasonable assumptions about production costs, the optimal final density (Dopt) is 73.7 kg/m3. A sensitivity analysis shows that changes in the fixed cost have no effects on the optimal final density. However, small change in variable costs, such as feed and juvenile costs, may have substantial effect on the optimal density.  相似文献

Physics has delivered extraordinary developments in almost every facet of modern life. From the humble thermometer and stethoscope to X‐Ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, PET and radiotherapy, our health has been transformed by these advances yielding both morphological and functional metrics. Recently high resolution label‐free imaging of the microcirculation at clinically relevant depths has become available in the research domain. In this paper, we present a comprehensive review on current imaging techniques, state‐of‐the‐art advancements and applications, and general perspectives on the prospects for these modalities in the clinical realm.
