A recently constructed carbon composite electrode using room temperature ionic liquid as pasting binder was employed as a novel electrode for sensitive, simultaneous determination of dopamine (DA), ascorbic acid (AA), and uric acid (UA). The apparent reversibility and kinetics of the electrochemical reaction for DA, AA, and UA found were improved significantly compared to those obtained using a conventional carbon paste electrode. The results show that carbon ionic liquid electrode (CILE) reduces the overpotential of DA, AA, and UA oxidation, without showing any fouling effect due to the deposition of their oxidized products. In the case of DA, the oxidation and reduction peak potentials appear at 210 and 135mV (vs Ag/AgCl, KCl, 3.0M), respectively, and the CILE shows a significantly better reversibility for dopamine. The oxidation peak due to the oxidation of AA occurs at about 60mV. For UA, a sharp oxidation peak at 340mV and a small reduction peak at 250mV are obtained at CILE. Differential pulse voltammetry was used for the simultaneous determination of ternary mixtures of DA, AA, and UA. Relative standard deviation for DA, AA, and UA determinations were less than 3.0% and DA, AA, and UA can be determined in the ranges of 2.0x10(-6)-1.5x10(-3), 5.0x10(-5)-7.4x10(-3), and 2.0x10(-6)-2.2x10(-4)M, respectively. Ionic liquids (ILs) have been widely used as reaction solvents in asymmetric synthesis due to their interesting physical and chemical properties. However, monitoring reactant-to-product conversion and the enantiopurity of formed stereoisomers often involves a tedious extraction step before chromatographic analysis. In this study, a rapid and sensitive sampling method using headspace solid-phase microextraction (SPME) coupled to chiral gas chromatography was developed for the "on-line" analysis of chiral molecules in the IL solvent. Three different SPME sorbent coatings, namely polydimethylsiloxane, polyacrylate, and a polymeric ionic liquid-based fiber, were examined in this study. The analytical performance of the developed method was evaluated in terms of reproducibility, slope of calibration curve, linear range, calibration linearity, and the determination of detection limits. The SPME method was successfully applied in the determination of enantiomeric excess from selected mixtures of chiral molecules. A preliminary study was performed using an "on-fiber" derivatization approach revealing that the stereoisomers extracted by the SPME fiber can be efficiently derivatized using a short "on-fiber" derivatization step. The developed SPME method eliminates the need of sequestering the reaction, separating the compounds of interest from the IL solvent, and the addition of a derivatizing reagent. 相似文献

The commercial development of ionic liquids (ILs) to pretreat lignocellulose by dissolution of whole biomass and cellulose precipitation by addition of water is hindered by the absence of an effective technique to recover the lignin content of the biomass from the IL. Three organic solvents [ethyl acetate, 1,4-dioxane, and tetrahydrofuran (THF)] were studied for their ability to form a two-liquid-phase system with water and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate ([C(2)mim][OAc]), and for partitioning model lignins and lignin monomers between the two liquid phases. Ternary diagrams were obtained for three [C(2)mim][OAc]/organic solvent/water systems at 22°C. Partition coefficients were measured for several types of lignin in these three systems. Partition coefficients increase with rising water content in the IL phase, and depend strongly on the type of lignin and on the organic solvent. Partition coefficients rise as the pH of the ionic-liquid-rich phase falls. Small molecule model lignin monomer compounds (guaiacol, syringaldehyde) are also readily extracted from the IL/water system by THF. 相似文献

Pervaporation proved to be one of the best methods to remove solvents out of a solvent producing Clostridium acetobutylicum culture. By using an ionic liquid (IL)-polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) ultrafiltration membrane (pore size 60 nm), we could guarantee
high stability and selectivity during all measurements carried out at 37°C. Overall solvent productivity of fermentation connected
with continuous product removal by pervaporation was 2.34 g l−1 h−1. The supported ionic liquid membrane (SILM) was impregnated with 15 wt% of a novel ionic liquid (tetrapropylammonium tetracyano-borate)
and 85 wt% of polydimethylsiloxane. Pervaporation, accomplished with the optimized SILM, led to stable and efficient removal
of the solvents butan-1-ol and acetone out of a C. acetobutylicum culture. By pervaporation through SILM, we removed more butan-1-ol than C. acetobutylicum was able to produce. Therefore, we added an extra dose of butan-1-ol to run fermentation on limiting values where the bacteria
would still be able to survive its lethal concentration (15.82 g/l). After pervaporation was switched off, the bacteria died

Tolerance of Populus euphratica suspended cells to ionic and osmotic stresses implemented respectively by NaCl and PEG (6000) was characterized by monitoring
cell growth, morphological features, ion compartmentation and polypeptide patterns. The cells grew and proliferated when submitted
to stresses of 137 mM NaCl or 250 g l−1 PEG, and survived at 308 mM of NaCl, showing tolerance to saline and particularly osmotic stress. They were resistant to
plasmolysis and had dense cytoplasms, large nuclei and nucleoli, and evident cytoplasmic strands under high saline and osmotic
stress. The sequestration of Cl− into the vacuoles was observed in the cells stressed with 137 and 223 mM NaCl. The cellular protein profile was modified
by high salt and osmotic stress and showed 28 kDa polypeptides up-regulated by both NaCl and PEG, and 66 and 25 kDa polypeptides

Four different ionic liquids, based on dialkylimidazolium cations associated with perfluorinated and bis(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl amide anions were used as reaction media for butyl butyrate synthesis catalyzed by free Candida antarctica lipase B at 2% (v/v) water content and 50 °C. Lipase had enhanced synthetic activity in all ionic liquids in comparison with two organic solvents (hexane, and 1-butanol), the enhanced activity being related to the increase in polarity of ionic liquids. The continuous operation of lipase with all the assayed ionic liquids showed over-stabilization of the enzyme. The reuse of free lipase in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate in continuous operation cycles showed a half-life time 2300 times greater than that observed when the enzyme was incubated in the absence of substrate (3.2 h), and a selectivity higher than 90%. 相似文献

A new ionic liquid, N-ethyl pyridinium trifluoroacetate, was used with a commercial protease to resolve N-acetyl amino acid esters in place of traditional organic solvents. Products with enantiomeric excess (ee) between 86–97% were obtained. A unifying theory is presented to explain the lithium exchange capacity of rocksalt‐like structures with any degree of cation ordering, and how lithium percolation properties can be used as a guideline for the development of novel high‐capacity electrode materials is demonstrated. The lithium percolation properties of the three most common lithium metal oxide phases, the layered α‐NaFeO2 structure, the spinel‐like LT‐LiCoO2 structure, and the γ‐LiFeO2 structure, are demonstrated and a strong dependence of the percolation thresholds on the cation ordering and the lithium content is observed. The poor performance of γ‐LiFeO2‐type structures is explained by their lack of percolation of good Li migration channels. The spinel‐like structure exhibits excellent percolation properties that are robust with respect to off‐stoichiometry and some amount of cation disorder. The layered structure is unique, as it possesses two different types of lithium diffusion channels, one of which is, however, strongly dependent on the lattice parameters, and therefore very sensitive to disorder. In general it is found that a critical Li‐excess concentration exists at which Li percolation occurs, although the amount of Li excess needed depends on the partial cation ordering. In fully cation‐disordered materials, macroscopic lithium diffusion is enabled by ≈10% excess lithium. 相似文献
