Abstract

Cd(II) adsorption of root exudates from sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) seedling was investigated by Cd ion-selective electrode, Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy, and fluorescence spectroscopy. Root exudates from Helianthus annuus L. had strong adsorption ability toward Cd(II). The adsorption process was pH-dependent and the maximum adsorption capacity, 150.8 mg g?1, was observed at pH 7.0. Root exudates had pK a1 at 4.7 for carboxyl and pK a2 at 9.2 for phenolic, and amino groups. The aliphatic and aromatic (C?H) groups, amide III group, and the C (=O)?O and sulfonate groups were responsible for Cd(II) adsorption. The excitation emission matrix fluorescence spectroscopy showed protein-like substances participated in Cd adsorption and formed strong complexes, with conditional stability constants of 4.70 and 4.32, which is a little lower than that determined by potentiometric methods, 5.13. The strong Cd complexing ability of root exudates implies that root exudates may significantly affect mobility, toxicity, and phytoavailability of Cd. Cd binding of root exudates may be attributed to its interaction with the proteins, polysaccharides, and phenolic compounds in root exudates.  相似文献

This paper presents a fully enclosed duck‐shaped triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) for effectively scavenging energy from random and low‐frequency water waves. The design of the TENG incorporates the freestanding rolling mode and the pitch motion of a duck‐shaped structure generated by incident waves. By investigating the material and structural features, a unit of the TENG device is successfully designed. Furthermore, a hybrid system is constructed using three units of the TENG device. The hybrid system achieves an instantaneous peak current of 65.5 µA with an instantaneous output power density of up to 1.366 W m?2. Following the design, a fluid–solid interaction analysis is carried out on one duck‐shaped TENG to understand the dynamic behavior, mechanical efficiency, and stability of the device under various water wave conditions. In addition, the hybrid system is experimentally tested to enable a commercial wireless temperature sensor node. In summary, the unique duck‐shaped TENG shows a simple, cost‐effective, environmentally friendly, light‐weight, and highly stable system. The newly designed TENG is promising for building a network of generators to harvest existing blue energy in oceans, lakes, and rivers.  相似文献

A biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) sensor, based on an immobilised mixed culture of microorganisms in combination with a dissolved oxygen electrode, has been developed for the purpose of on-line monitoring of the biological treatment process for waste and wastewater. The sensor was designed for easy replacement of the biomembrane, thereby making it suitable for short-term use. The drawbacks of activated sludge based sensor, such as short sensor lifetime, were thereby circumvented. The sensor BOD measurements were carried out in the kinetic mode using a flow injection system, resulting in 25 s for one measurement followed by 4–8 min recovery time. Based on the results of normalised sensor responses, the OECD synthetic wastewater was considered to be a more suitable calibration solution in comparison with the GGA solution. Good agreement was achieved between the results of the sensor BOD measurement and those obtained from BOD5 analysis of a wastewater sample from a food-processing factory. Reproducibility of responses using one sensor was below ±5.6% standard deviation. Reproducibility of responses using different sensors was within acceptable bias limits, viz. ±15% standard deviation.  相似文献

Highly ordered Ni nanowire arrays (NiNWAs) were synthesized for the first time using a template-directed electropolymerization strategy with a nanopore polycarbonate (PC) membrane template, and their morphological characterization were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). A NiNWAs based electrode shows very high electrochemical activity for electrocatalytic oxidation of glucose in alkaline medium, which has been utilized as the basis of the fabrication of a nonenzymatic biosensor for electrochemical detection of glucose. The biosensor can be applied to the quantification of glucose with a linear range covering from 5.0 × 10−7 to 7.0 × 10−3 M, a high sensitivity of 1043 μA mM−1 cm−2, and a low detection limit of 1 × 10−7 M. The experiment results also showed that the sensor exhibits good reproducibility and long-term stability, as well as high selectivity with no interference from other oxidable species.  相似文献

A new colorimetric chiral sensor material consisting of three different functional sites such as chromophore (2,4-dinitrophenylazophenol dye), binding site (crown ether), and chiral barrier (3,3'-diphenyl-1,1'-binaphthyl group) was prepared and applied to the recognition of the two enantiomers of primary amino alcohols and amines. Among five primary amino alcohols and two primary amines tested, the two enantiomers of phenylalaninol show the highest difference in the absorption maximum wavelength (Δλ(max)=43.5 nm) and in the association constants (K(S)/K(R)=2.51) upon complexation with the colorimetric chiral sensor material and, consequently, the two enantiomers of phenylalaninol were clearly distinguished from each other by the color difference.  相似文献

Aerobic batch cultivations of Candida utilis were carried out in two micro bioreactors with a working volume of 100 μL operated in parallel. The dimensions of the micro bioreactors were similar as the wells in a 96‐well microtiter plate, to preserve compatibility with the current high‐throughput cultivation systems. Each micro bioreactor was equipped with an electrochemical sensor array for the online measurement of temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and viable biomass concentration. Furthermore, the CO2 production rate was obtained from the online measurement of cumulative CO2 production during the cultivation. The online data obtained by the sensor array and the CO2 production measurements appeared to be very reproducible for all batch cultivations performed and were highly comparable to measurement results obtained during a similar aerobic batch cultivation carried out in a conventional 4L bench‐scale bioreactor. Although the sensor chip certainly needs further improvement on some points, this work clearly shows the applicability of electrochemical sensor arrays for the monitoring of parallel micro‐scale fermentations, e.g. using the 96‐well microtiterplate format. © 2009 American Institute of Chemical Engineers Biotechnol. A novel imaging sensor system for the determination of plasmid carrying yeast cells was developed. The sensor system consisted of an Silicon Intensifier Target (SIT) video camera, a fluorescent microscope, and a personal computer system equipped with an image memory board. This system was based on the fact that the membrane integrity of only plasmid-carrying cells is lost following cell growth in 5-fluoro-orotic acid (5-FOA) containing medium, and consequently these target cell can be stained with fluorescent probes and detected. In this study, plasmid-carrying cells were detected and their fraction determined in a mixture of both plasmid-carring and plasmid-free cells. A good correlation was observed between the values determined by this sensor system and the conventional method in the 30%-80% range, and one assay was possible within 4 h. This sensor system could be used for the monitoring of plasmid-carrying fraction in recombinant yeast cells during cultivation.  相似文献

Detection of hydrogen sulphide (H2S) was conducted based on cataluminescence (CTL) sensors, using alkaline‐earth metal carbonates as catalysts. Optimal working conditions, analytical characteristics and the response properties of the sensor were investigated. CTL intensity examination showed that sensors fabricated with CaCO3, SrCO3 or BaCO3 could be used to detect H2S gas sensitively. The optimal sensing temperature was about 320 °C. Under the sensing conditions with temperature at ca. 320 °C and gas flow rate in the range 180–200 mL/min, the linear range of CTL intensity vs H2S concentration was 25–500 ppm, with a detection limit of 2 ppm. The response and recovery times of the sensor were within 5 and 25 min, respectively. Also, the sensor had the property of high selectivity to H2S with very weak or no obvious response to 14 other gases, such as NO2, NH3, hydrocarbons and alcohol. 利用厚叶景天的叶和茎组织作为生物催化材料,分别同二氧化碳气敏电极和氨气敏电极组合,研制了L-精氨酸传感器及,L-赖氨酸传感器。两种传感器的线性范围分别为1.0×10-4 1.O×10-3mol/L和8.0×10-5—3.0×10-3mol/L.检测下限分别为3.2×10-5mol/L和2.2×10-5mol/L,响应斜率分别为42.2mV/dec和41.4mv/dec。考察了两种传感器的回收率.结果表明,L-精氨酸传感器和L-赖氨酸传感器的回收率平均值分别为98.6%和101.6%,标准偏差分别为4.6%和4.0%。  相似文献
