SPF级金黄地鼠的主要生物学特性   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
目的测定SPF级金黄地鼠的生物学特性数据,为生物制品的生产、检定及科学研究提供标准化的SPF级金黄地鼠。方法在5周龄、10周龄和30周龄群体中随机抽样20只地鼠,雌雄各半。测定生长发育、繁殖性能、淘汰种鼠干物质及粗脂肪含量、解剖学特性以及血液生理生化指标等生物学特性指标。结果从SPF级金黄地鼠的生长和繁殖特性来看,通过严格的选择和淘汰,SPF级金黄地鼠的生长、繁殖等特性已保留下来,同比原种群得到进一步提高。其体重和主要脏器重量、脏器系数的数据在5、10和30这三个日龄段基本稳定一致,呈现正常的生长规律;该鼠群的血常规、血液生化指标和免疫指标也比较稳定一致,个体间的差异很小。结论本实验测定的SPF级金黄地鼠的主要生物学特性,将为SPF级金黄地鼠进一步标准化提供极其重要的依据。  相似文献

Provisioning may act to cushion weaned young from dietary insufficiencyand errors during the period in which they are mastering complexforaging techniques or learning to identify appropriate dietaryitems. That is, young mammals who receive food from others maygain nutritional and/or informational benefits. I conducteda longitudinal study of 13 wild golden lion tamarins 11–56weeks of age in six groups to evaluate hypotheses regardingthe functions of provisioning. All members belonging to thisprimate taxonomic family (the Callitrichidae) are cooperativebreeders and are known to provision their young more frequentlythan do other primate species, except humans. My results, togetherwith experimental findings, suggest that juveniles receive bothnutritional and informational benefits from being provisioned.My juvenile study subjects received animal prey (invertebratesand small vertebrates) from others more frequently than plantresources (fruits and hardened exudates). Apparently difficult-to-handlefruits were more likely to be transferred than readily processedfruits. These results support the nutritional benefits hypothesisbecause the young received items, particularly lipid- and protein-richprey, that they might not otherwise have acquired. That juvenilesfed independently on, and were provisioned with, the same fruitson the same day is counterevidence to the nutritional benefitshypothesis, however. The informational benefits hypothesis wassupported because juveniles received a large variety of foods(including more than 20% of fruit species eaten) and receiveduncommon fruits that were easily acquired. Adults emitted food-offeringcalls to encourage the transfer of prey to juveniles, particularlywhen the prey was whole and alive.  相似文献

We have developed near-isogenic introgression lines (NIILs) of an elite indica rice cultivar (IR64) with the genes for β-carotene biosynthesis from dihaploid (DH) derivatives of golden japonica rice (cv. T309). A careful analysis of the DH lines indicated the integration of the genes of interest [phytoene synthase ( psy ) and phytoene desaturase ( crtI )] and the selectable marker gene (hygromycin phosphotransferase, hph ) in two unlinked loci. During subsequent crossing, progenies could be obtained carrying only the locus with psy and crtI , which was segregated independently from the locus containing the hph gene during meiotic segregation. The NIILs (BC2F2) showed maximum similarity with the recurrent parent cultivar IR64. Further, progenies of two NIILs were devoid of any fragments beyond the left or right border, including the chloramphenicol acetyltransferase ( cat ) antibiotic resistance gene of the transformation vector. Spectrophotometric readings showed the accumulation of up to 1.06 µg total carotenoids, including β-carotene, in 1 g of the endosperm. The accumulation of β-carotene was also evident from the clearly visible yellow colour of the polished seeds.  相似文献

Elucidating the factors that shape species distributions has long been a fundamental goal in ecology and evolutionary biology. In spite of significant theoretical advancements, empirical studies of range limits have lagged behind. Specifically, little is known about how the attributes that allow species to expand their ranges and become widespread vary across phylogenies. Here, we studied the ascidian Botryllus schlosseri, a worldwide invasive species that is also characterized by marked genetic subdivision. Our study includes phylogenetic and population genetic data based on mitochondrial and nuclear genes, as well as polymorphic microsatellites for B. schlosseri colonies sampled from the southern and northern coasts of Europe and the eastern and western coasts of North America. We demonstrate that this well-known model organism comprises three highly divergent and probably reproductively isolated cryptic species (A, D and E), with two more (B and C) being suggested by data retrieved from GenBank. Among these, species A, recovered in all of the surveyed regions, is by far the most common and widespread. By contrast, species B-E, occurring mostly in sites from northern Europe, are considerably more geographically restricted. These findings, along with inferences made on transport opportunity, suggest that divergent evolutionary histories promoted differences in invasive potential between B. schlosseri sibling species, indicating that attributes that facilitate dramatic shifts in range limits can evolve more easily and frequently than previously thought. We propose environmental disturbance as a selective force that could have shaped the evolution of invasiveness in the B. schlosseri complex.  相似文献

Aims Our study aimed to characterize the dispersal dynamics and population genetic structure of the introduced golden mussel Limnoperna fortunei throughout its invaded range in South America and to determine how different dispersal methods, that is, human‐mediated dispersal and downstream natural dispersal, contribute to genetic variation among populations. Location Paraná–Uruguay–Río de la Plata watershed in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. Methods We performed genetic analyses based on a comprehensive sampling strategy encompassing 22 populations (N = 712) throughout the invaded range in South America, using the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) gene and eight polymorphic nuclear microsatellites. We employed both population genetics and phylogenetic analyses to clarify the dispersal dynamics and population genetic structure. Results We detected relatively high genetic differentiation between populations (FST = ?0.041 to 0.111 for COI, ?0.060 to 0.108 for microsatellites) at both fine and large geographical scales. Bayesian clustering and three‐dimensional factorial correspondence analyses consistently revealed two genetically distinct clusters, highlighting genetic discontinuities in the invaded range. Results of all genetic analyses suggest ship‐mediated ‘jump’ dispersal as the dominant mode of spread of golden mussels in South America, while downstream natural dispersal has had limited effects on contemporary genetic patterns. Main conclusions Our study provides new evidence that post‐establishment dispersal dynamics and genetic patterns vary across geographical scales. While ship‐mediated ‘jump’ dispersal dominates post‐establishment spread of golden mussels in South America, once colonies become established in upstream locations, larvae produced may be advected downstream to infill patchy distributions. Moreover, genetic structuring at fine geographical scales, especially within the same drainages, suggests a further detailed understanding of dynamics of larval dispersal and settlement in different water systems. Knowledge of the mechanisms by which post‐establishment spread occurs can, in some cases, be used to limit dispersal of golden mussels and other introduced species.  相似文献

AIM: Our objective was to identify the distribution of the endangered golden-cheeked warbler (Setophaga chrysoparia) in fragmented oak-juniper woodlands by applying a geoadditive semiparametric occupancy model to better assist decision-makers in identifying suitable habitat across the species breeding range on which conservation or mitigation activities can be focused and thus prioritize management and conservation planning. LOCATION: Texas, USA. METHODS: We used repeated double-observer detection/non-detection surveys of randomly selected (n = 287) patches of potential habitat to evaluate warbler patch-scale presence across the species breeding range. We used a geoadditive semiparametric occupancy model with remotely sensed habitat metrics (patch size and landscape composition) to predict patch-scale occupancy of golden-cheeked warblers in the fragmented oak-juniper woodlands of central Texas, USA. RESULTS: Our spatially explicit model indicated that golden-cheeked warbler patch occupancy declined from south to north within the breeding range concomitant with reductions in the availability of large habitat patches. We found that 59% of woodland patches, primarily in the northern and central portions of the warbler's range, were predicted to have occupancy probabilities ≤0.10 with only 3% of patches predicted to have occupancy probabilities >0.90. Our model exhibited high prediction accuracy (area under curve = 0.91) when validated using independently collected warbler occurrence data. MAIN CONCLUSIONS: We have identified a distinct spatial occurrence gradient for golden-cheeked warblers as well as a relationship between two measurable landscape characteristics. Because habitat-occupancy relationships were key drivers of our model, our results can be used to identify potential areas where conservation actions supporting habitat mitigation can occur and identify areas where conservation of future potential habitat is possible. Additionally, our results can be used to focus resources on maintenance and creation of patches that are more likely to harbour viable local warbler populations.  相似文献

Golden lion tamarins emit conspicuous and complex long calls. Little is known about the propagation distance of the calls, and the knowledge is important to understand the function of long calls. The high-frequency spectrum of the calls renders them susceptible to substantial degradation inside forest habitats. We investigated 1) the propagation distance of the long call and if the height from the ground affects the degree of degradation and 2) whether long-call acoustic variation affects the propagation distance. We conducted a playback study of 7 2-phrase long calls recorded at different distances (20, 40, 80, 120 m) and heights above ground (2 m and 7.5 m) in 3 transects of Brazilian Atlantic Forest. We quantified the degradation by measuring differences in the number of syllables and frequency measures of the calls at each distance. Degradation became significant at 80 m; the calls degraded below background noise at 120 m. The degradation of syllables was lower for recordings at 7.5 m above ground. The frequency spectra of the calls influenced significantly the propagation distance of the call. Because of the short propagation distance of long calls relative to territory size, we hypothesize that long calls may be adapted to avoiding ambient noise and that they evolved first for intragroup communication and then for territorial defense.  相似文献

洞庭湖流域曾有亚洲象(Elephasmaximus)、犀(Rhinocerossp.)、麋鹿(Elaphurusdavidianus)、川金丝猴(Rhinopithecusroxellana)、长臂猿(Hylobatessp.)、大熊猫(Ailuropodamelanoleuca)、梅花鹿(Cervusnippon)、棕熊(Ursusarctos)等哺乳动物分布,但受古气候、古地理以及人类活动的影响,这些哺乳动物已在洞庭湖流域灭绝。这些哺乳动物的濒危和灭绝既受自然环境变化和灾变的影响,也与物种本身生物学特性和人类活动有关,尤其与人类捕杀和生境丧失有关。据古籍记载分析:在洞庭湖流域,亚洲象和犀于北宋末期灭绝或已南迁,而野生麋鹿、大熊猫、川金丝猴、长臂猿、梅花鹿和棕熊等于19世纪末灭绝。根据我们对30个自然保护区或森林公园野生动物资源实地调查的结果,在洞庭湖流域已记录到21种国家重点保护哺乳动物,其中有5、6、10种哺乳动物分别处于“极危”、“濒危”、“易危”等级,这表明物种濒危的过程仍在继续。导致这些现生哺乳动物濒危的主要原因是生境丧失、人类猎捕、环境污染等,而人类活动干扰对现生濒危物种存活的影响越来越大。洞庭湖流域重引入麋鹿需采取人类协助生存策略:提供足够的且受洪水影响小的适宜生境、保证稳定的奠基者种群数量、减少人为干扰、调控种群密度、实施社区共管和生计替代项目、加强疾病防治、完善保护措施、加大保护基金投入、加强生境监测和湿地恢复等。  相似文献
