通过对毛竹林(Bamboo forest,BF)与林缘旷地(Open area of forest edge,OAFE)两类生境蝴蝶花自然种群花部与果实(种子)特征及降雨干扰影响的研究,探讨不同生境中蝴蝶花花部特征适应性及有性各组分的差异。结果表明:(1)竹林生境相对于林缘旷地生境,蝴蝶花单花花冠的长、宽较大,子房、花部(除花柄)及单花总生物量较小,比花柄长较大;两类生境蝴蝶花花柄生物量与子房生物量呈正相关(P0.05),协方差分析表明,两类生境该直线回归的总体斜率间(F=18.420,P0.001)及总体截距间(F=3791.7,P0.001)均具有显著差异,竹林生境花柄生物量随子房生物量增大而增大的程度更强。竹林生境的蝴蝶花侧花花冠长与宽最高,竹林生境顶花次之,林缘旷地顶花与林缘旷地侧花最低;花部(除花柄)与全花重都表现为林缘旷地侧花最高,林缘旷地顶花次之,竹林侧花与竹林顶花最低。比花柄长随竹林侧花与竹林顶花-林缘旷地侧花-林缘旷地顶花依次降低;竹林顶花的花柄比率最高,竹林侧花与林缘旷地侧花最低。(2)林缘旷地生境中蝴蝶花的每花序花数、花序结果百分率、单花结果百分率、每结果花序果实数、每结果花序果实重与种子重及花期内每花序掉落花数都高于竹林生境。(3)林缘旷地生境大雨干扰的4个时段花朵掉落数显著高于竹林环境(P0.01)。不同生境花部形态结构特征表明其自身的生境适应性,林缘旷地生境蝴蝶花为抵御干扰及为获得有性繁殖成功,有性组分的投入更高。 相似文献

Flowering and fruiting were assessed on 14 populations of the grasstree, Xanthorrhoea preissii Endl., occurring in the Darling Range near Perth, Western Australia. Independent of site, season of burn or year of flowering, there was a strong relationship between plant height, which varied from 0.1 to over 2 m, and the incidence of postfire flowering, which varied from 1% (winter burn) to 75% (summer burn) of grasstrees present. There was no relationship between inflorescence dimensions, or flower or fruit production on a spike basis, and plant size/age (height). When standardized for height, spring‐burnt populations produced 40% as many inflorescences as autumn‐burnt populations and 20% as many as summer‐burnt populations. Inflorescences produced by spring‐burnt plants were moderately smaller than those by summer–autumn‐burnt plants. Fruit density per spike in autumn‐burnt plants was 80% of that in spring–summer‐burnt plants. The net effect was an average of 70 000 fruits produced per 100 summer‐burnt plants, 22 000 in autumn‐burnt plants, and 14 000 in spring‐burnt plants. Ecophysiological explanations of these results and their implications for population dynamics have yet to be explored. 相似文献

Within-panicle flowering, exsertion, and seed ripening were investigated in four clones of P. maximum. Flowering, exsertion, and seed ripening were fast processes (<;10 d for each process). Dates and timing were stable within each clone and should allow definition of the harvest date for each genotype and for each harvest method. Clones showed two main flowering patterns differing in the number of flowered spikelets at the date of maximal flowering and in the time of flowering. Seed set was similar to that of allogamous and anemophilous plants. It was nevertheless lower in clones with a high degree of flowering-shedding overlap. In the absence of flowering-shedding overlap, the time for a panicle to flower and to produce seeds was shorter than the time between two emergences of panicles on a tiller. The cup nerve head, optic cup, optic disc ratio and neural rim configuration are observed as important for detecting glaucoma at an early stage in clinical practice. The main clinical indicator of glaucoma optic cup to disc ratio is currently determined manually by limiting the mass screening was potential. This paper proposes the following methods for an automatic cup to disc ratio determination. In the first part of the work, fundus image of the optic disc region is considered. Clustering means K is used automatically to extract the optic disc whereas K-value is automatically selected by algorithm called hill climbing. The segmented contour of optic cup has been smoothened by two methods namely elliptical fitting and morphological fitting. Cup to disc ratio is calculated for 50 normal images and 50 fundus images of glaucoma patients. Throughout this paper, the same set of images has been used and for these images, the cup to disc ratio values are provided by ophthalmologist which is taken as the gold standard value. The error is calculated with reference to this gold standard value throughout the paper for cup to disc ratio comparison. The mean error of the K-means clustering method for elliptical and morphological fitting is 4.5% and 4.1%, respectively. Since the error is high, fuzzy C-mean clustering has been chosen and the mean error of the method for elliptical and morphological fitting is 3.83% and 3.52%. The error can further be minimized by considering the inter pixel relation. To achieve another algorithm is by Spatially Weighted fuzzy C-means Clustering (SWFCM) is used. The optic disc and optic cup have clustered and segmented by SWFCM Clustering. The SWFCM mean error clustering method for elliptical and morphological fitting is 3.06% and 1.67%, respectively. Fuzzy set theory is an extension of classical set theory where elements of a set have grades of membership ranging from zero for non-membership to one for full membership. Exactly as for classical sets, there exist operators, relations, and mappings appropriate for these fuzzy sets. This paper presents the concepts of fuzzy sets, operations, relations, and mappings in an ecological context. Fuzzy set theory is then established as a theoretical basis for ordination, and is employed in a sequence of examples in an analysis of forest vegetation of western Montana, U.S.A. The example ordinations show how site characteristics can be analyzed for their effect on vegetation composition, and how different site factors can be synthesized into complex environmental factors using the calculus of fuzzy set theory.In contrast to current ordination methods, ordinations based on fuzzy set theory require the investigator to hypothesize an ecological relationship between vegetation and environment, or between different vegatation compositions, before constructing the ordination. The plotted ordination is then viewed as evidence to corroborate or discredit the hypothesis.I am grateful to Dr R. D. AbstractQuantitative risk assessment (QRA) approaches systematically evaluate the likelihood, impacts, and risk of adverse events. QRA using fault tree analysis (FTA) is based on the assumptions that failure events have crisp probabilities and they are statistically independent. The crisp probabilities of the events are often absent, which leads to data uncertainty. However, the independence assumption leads to model uncertainty. Experts’ knowledge can be utilized to obtain unknown failure data; however, this process itself is subject to different issues such as imprecision, incompleteness, and lack of consensus. For this reason, to minimize the overall uncertainty in QRA, in addition to addressing the uncertainties in the knowledge, it is equally important to combine the opinions of multiple experts and update prior beliefs based on new evidence. In this article, a novel methodology is proposed for QRA by combining fuzzy set theory and evidence theory with Bayesian networks to describe the uncertainties, aggregate experts’ opinions, and update prior probabilities when new evidences become available. Additionally, sensitivity analysis is performed to identify the most critical events in the FTA. The effectiveness of the proposed approach has been demonstrated via application to a practical system. 相似文献

In Pongamia pinnata only one of the two ovules develops into a seed in most of the pods. Since pollen was not found to be limiting and reduced fertilization could not completely explain the observed frequency of seed abortion, it implied an effect of postfertilization factors. Aqueous extracts of developing seeds and maternal tissue (placenta) did not influence abortion in vitro, suggesting that abortion may not be mediated by a chemical. Experimental uptake of 14C sucrose in vitro indicated that both the stigmatic and the peduncular seed have similar inherent capacities of drawing resources, but the peduncular seed is deprived of resources in the presence of the stigmatic seed. This deprivation of the peduncular seed could be offset by supplying an excess of hormones leading to the subsequent formation of two seeds in a pod. The prevalence of single-seeded pods in P. pinnata seems therefore to be a result of competition between the two seeds for maternal resources. The evolutionary significance of single-seeded pods in P. pinnata is discussed with respect to possible dispersal advantage enjoyed by such pods. 相似文献

With the increasing popularity of bandwidth-intensive applications, network traffic has been growing exponentially. Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) is a technique that can harness the huge bandwidth available in an optical fiber to satisfy the network demand. Due to the multiplicity of the connections on any single link, fault tolerance is of utmost importance in such WDM networks. Active research on providing fault tolerance in WDM networks in recent times underscores its significance. In this study, a dynamic partitioning protection routing technique for routing a Fault Tolerant Path Set (FTPS) in a network is proposed. Wavelength assignment schemes to this FTPS with backup multiplexing technique for networks with no wavelength conversion and full wavelength conversion are discussed. Performance is measured in terms of blocking probability and time to recover the failed connections. Our simulations show that this protection technique performs better than other proposed techniques. 相似文献
