Differences between sun (E) and shaded (S) foliage were studied in a Norway spruce (Picea abies [L.] Karst.) stand. Response curves describing the dependence of the CO2 assimilation rate (PN) on the CO2 concentration at the catalytic site of ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase, RuBPCO (PN-Cc) were estimated using the simultaneous measurements of chlorophyll fluorescence and leaf gas exchange. Higher PN, higher electron transport (Ja), higher carboxylation capacity (Vc), and higher RuBPCO activity () for sun acclimated needles was found. The S-needles had higher portion of internal limitation and higher CO2 compensation concentration () than the E-needles. Because higher degree of limitation of photosynthesis by carboxylation was ascertained, it can be assumed that photosynthesis in shade foliage is limited mainly by lower carboxylation capacity and by low chloroplastic CO2 concentration  相似文献

Visual symptoms of stem deformity similar to those of Cu deficiency are common inP. radiata established on fertile sites previously used for agricultural production in south-eastern Australia. In this study, Cu fertiliser was applied at rates of 0, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 kg ha−1 to deformedP. radiata at ages 3 and 6 years. Available soil Cu and contents of Cu in the foliage increased significantly only in the younger plantation. Cu fertiliser did not affect growth nor did it improve stem form. Levels of N, Cu and Cu/N ratios in foliage of straight and deformed trees were similar. However, contents of Cu in apical buds were significantly lower in deformed trees. It was concluded that stem deformity inP. radiata as observed on these fertile pasture sites, cannot be corrected by application of Cu fertiliser. Differences in Cu levels in apical buds of straight and deformed trees suggest that Cu may still be involved in this syndrome. There was also no indication of other nutrient deficiencies that could be associated with the deformity.  相似文献

This study analyzed genetic differences of 19 cultivars selected from somaclonal variants of Syngonium podophyllum Schott along with their parents as well as seven additional Syngonium species and six other aroids using amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) markers generated by 12 primer sets. Among the 19 somaclonal cultivars, ‘Pink Allusion’ was selected from ‘White Butterfly’. Tissue culture of ‘Pink Allusion’ through organogenesis resulted in the development of 13 additional cultivars. Self-pollination of ‘Pink Allusion’ obtained a cultivar, ‘Regina Red Allusion’, and tissue culture propagation of ‘Regina Red Allusion’ led to the release of five other cultivars. The 12 primer sets generated a total of 1,583 scorable fragments from all accessions, of which 1,284 were polymorphic (81.9%). The percentages of polymorphic fragments within ‘White Butterfly’ and ‘Regina Red Allusion’ groups, however, were only 1.2% and 0.4%, respectively. Jaccard's similarity coefficients among somaclonal cultivars derived from ‘White Butterfly’ and ‘Regina Red Allusion’, on average, were 0.98 and 0.99, respectively. Seven out of the 15 cultivars from the ‘White Butterfly’ group and three out of six from the ‘Regina Red Allusion’ group were clearly distinguished by AFLP analysis as unique fragments were associated with respective cultivars. The unsuccessful attempt to distinguish the remaining eight cultivars from the ‘White Butterfly’ group and three from the ‘Regina Red Allusion’ group was not attributed to experimental errors or the number of primer sets used; rather it is hypothesized to be caused by DNA methylation and/or some rare mutations. This study also calls for increased genetic diversity of cultivated Syngonium as they are largely derived from somaclonal variants.  相似文献

叶面配施镁锌钼对银杏苗叶生长和药用品质的影响   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
以两年生银杏苗为研究对象,采用室内模拟与盆栽试验相结合的方法,研究了叶面配施低、中、高浓度的镁、锌、钼对银杏叶产量和药用成分含量及其产量的影响,以明确叶用银杏叶面微肥中镁锌钼的适宜浓度。结果显示:(1)镁锌钼配施能提高单叶面积、叶片厚度、单株叶面积和叶生物量,并以配施组合Mo3(2%Mg+0.3%Zn+0.1%Mo)对叶生物量的提高幅度较大(64.9%)。(2)中锌中钼配施镁肥对银杏叶绿素、可溶性糖和可溶性蛋白质含量的正效应随着镁肥喷施浓度的增加而降低,中镁中钼配施锌肥、中镁中锌配施中钼对叶片叶绿素、可溶性糖含量的正效应随着配施肥料浓度的升高而降低,而可溶性蛋白含量与配施肥料浓度呈正相关。(3)镁锌钼配施能提高叶片总黄酮、萜内酯含量,以及单株总黄酮和萜内酯产量,以配施组合Mo3对单株总黄酮、萜内酯产量的提高幅度最大,分别为2.96倍和1.70倍。(4)配施高浓度的肥料(Mg4、Zn4和Mo4)不同程度地降低了镁锌钼配施对部分指标的正效应。研究表明,配施适当浓度的镁锌钼叶面肥可在一定程度促进银杏苗叶绿素合成,上调可溶性糖和可溶性蛋白质等初生代谢物质积累,改善其叶片生长和药用品质,提高叶产量及药用品质构成要素;微肥2%Mg+0.3%Zn+0.1%Mo是本试验条件下提高银杏叶产量、药用成分含量和产量较为理想的叶肥组合。  相似文献

Three genetically related Spathiphyllum cultivars, Claudia, Double Take, and Petite with similar initial sizes and biomass, were grown in a shaded greenhouse and fertilized with a constant supply of nitrogen at 200 g m–3 using an ebb-and-flow fertigation system. Seven months later, Claudia and Double Take had plant sizes and biomasses significantly greater than Petite. Stomatal conductances of Claudia and Double Take were 30 % greater, thus net photosynthetic rates (P N) were significantly higher than in Petite. In addition, the leaf areas (LA) of Claudia and Double Take were 60 % larger than of Petite. Since P N was expressed per leaf surface area, the greater the LA was, the more CO2 was fixed. Thus, the differences in plant size and biomass production of Claudia and Double Take compared to Petite are attributed to high P N and increased LA.  相似文献

Summary Regeneration of adventitious shoots of pothos (Epipremnum aureum Linden and Andre) ‘Jade’ was obtained using leaf and petiole explants preprated from shoot tips of 3-yr-old greenhouse-grown plants. Explants were cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) basal medium supplemented with thidiazuron (TDZ), 6-(4-hydroxy-3-methy-trans-2-butenyl-amino)purine (zeatin) or N-isopentenylaminopurine (2iP) individually with α-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) in 18 combinations. Callus was initiated from cut surface and along the midrib or major vein of leaf sections. Shoot regeneration from leaf and petoole explants occurred in 30d on medium containing 1, 5 or 10μM TDZ with 0.5 or 1.0μM NAA except petioles on medium with 10 μM TDZ and 1.0 μM NAA where regeneration failed. More time (50d) was needed for shoot regeneration when explants were cultured on medium containing either 2iP or zeatin with NAA. Regeneration frequencies were up to 20% and 50% for leaf and petiole explants, respectively. Shoot numbers per responding explant attained 30 for leaf and petiole explants on medium containing TDZ but only one to four on medium containing either 2iP or zeatin. These results indicate that TDZ is a more effective cytokinin for in vitro regeneration of pothos than either zeatin or 2iP.. Shoots elongated readily and rooted well on MS basal medium, without plant growth regulators. Plantlets acclimatized rapidly and grew vigorously in the greenhouse after transfer to pots containing a commerecial potting medium.  相似文献

We investigated the nest-site settlement of the forest-dwelling Tengmalm’s owl (Aegolius funereus) in the temperate zone of Central Europe (Czech Republic) over a 14-year period. We analysed the effect of changes in nest-site suitability (expressed as the proportion of deciduous forest) within the immediate surroundings of the nest boxes (a buffer radius of 25 m) in relation to nest box occupancy, the mean standardized laying date (further the laying date), occurrence of nest predation, and breeding density. In line with the predictions of the site dependence model, we found a positive relationship between the laying date and the proportion of deciduous trees in the nest box surrounding. Further, we found the interactive effect of the laying date and the proportion of deciduous forest surrounding a nest box on the occurrence of breeding attempts predated by pine martens. A higher proportion of deciduous forest was found in the surroundings of predated than non-predated breeding attempts, and a steeper positive relationship between the laying date and the proportion of deciduous forest was found in the surroundings of non-predated than predated breeding attempts. The change in the owls’ habitat utilization can be explained by the process of tree leafing which makes the deciduous forest a less suitable habitat with high risk of nest predation before tree foliage and a more suitable habitat with low risk of nest predation after tree foliage. We conclude that our results are in agreement with the site dependence model, and that the degree of foliage of deciduous forest in the nest surrounding of Tengmalm’s owl is a key factor determining site suitability due to predation risk from pine martens in Central Europe.  相似文献

Abstract We measured plant structural and physiological responses of two sympatric Picea species, Picea likiangensis (Franchet) E. Pritzel var. balfouriana and Picea asperata Masters var. retroflexa to altitude close to the treeline in the eastern Himalaya. Most measured tree characteristics differed between different altitudes, between different ages, and between shaded and un-shaded treatments. Both P. likiangensis and P. asperata had lower foliage area/stem cross-sectional area ratios, smaller specific leaf areas, higher root mass/foliage area ratios, and less negative 13C at 3,900 m than at 3,600 m altitude, and in the un-shaded treatment than in the shaded treatment. The 7- and 9-year-old seedlings also showed lower foliage area/stem cross-sectional area ratios, higher root mass/foliage area ratios and less negative 13C than younger seedlings. Shading resulted in an increase of biomass accumulation at all altitudes. A close relationship, independent of altitude, was observed between 13C and specific leaf area, suggesting that internal resistance could limit CO2 diffusion to the site of carboxylation. The results indicate that, in spite of greater water availability, trees at higher altitudes show quite a number of apparent acclimations to drought.  相似文献

The distribution, species composition and abundance of carabid beetles in monospecific plantations of three different coniferous tree species (Japanese spruce, Sakhalin fir and larch) were investigated by baited pitfall traps in Hokkaido, Japan. In total, 16 150 carabid beetles consisting of 31 species in 13 genera were collected in 2011 and 2012. The most predominant species was Pterostichus thunbergii Morawitz, followed by Synuchus melantho (Bates) and Carabus opaculus (Putzeys). Average numbers of beetles per trap were significantly reduced in larch. Large‐sized Carabus species (C. arboreus arboreus Lewis and C. opaculus) were collected in large numbers in Japanese spruce. There was no significant difference in diversity and equitability among the three kinds of plantation. The ordination of redundancy analysis showed that medium‐sized forest generalists, Pterosticus subovatus (Motschulsky) and P. thunbergii, were highly associated with Japanese spruce and Sakhalin fir, and the forest specialist Synuchus nitidus (Motschulsky) was with Sakhalin fir. In contrast, in larch there was no such associated forest species, and some species of Carabus, Pterostichus and Synuchus were considerably reduced in number, suggesting that larch has unfavorable effects on some forest species. The most important environmental variables influencing carabid assemblages were soil moisture and foliage layer cover. Practices in forest management to minimize the effects of plantations on carabid assemblages are discussed.  相似文献

Functional differentiation of assimilation activity of sun versus shade foliage was analysed in a Norway spruce monoculture stand (age 15 years). The investigated stand density (leaf area index 8.6) and crown structure led to variation in the photosynthetically active photon flux density (PPFD) within the crowns of the sampled trees. At the saturating PPFD, the maximum rate of CO2 uptake (P Nmax) of exposed shoots (E-shoots) was 1.7 times that of the shaded shoots (S-shoots). The apparent quantum yield (α) of E-shoots was 0.9 times that of the S-shoots. A lower ability to use excess energy at high PPFD in photosynthesis was observed in the S-layer. The CO2- and PPFD-saturated rate of CO2 uptake (P Nsat) of the E-shoots was 1.12 times and the carboxylation efficiency (τ) 1.6 times that of the S-shoots. The CO2-saturated rate of ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (RuBPCO) carboxylation (VCmax) and of actual electron transport (Jamax) in the S-needles amounted to 89 and 95 % of VCmax and Jamax in the E-needles. Thus, in addition to the irradiation conditions and thus limitation by low Ja, the important limitation of photosynthesis in shade needles is due to carboxylation.
