Two series of experiments were performed to assess the effects of stimulus velocity on human subjects' perception of the distance traversed by a moving tactile stimulus. In all experiments, constant-velocity stimuli were applied to the dorsal surface of the left forearm; velocities ranging between 1.0 and 256 cm/sec were used. In some experiments the stimuli moved from distal to proximal over the skin, and in others they moved from proximal to distal. The length of skin contacted by the moving stimulus was defined by a plate having an aperture of 4.0 × 0.5 cm.In the first series of experiments, subjects were required to compare the distance traversed by a test stimulus delivered 2 sec after a standard stimulus, and also to report the on-locus and the off-locus of the brushing stimulus. In the second series of experiments, the subjects rated the perceived distance on the skin using a free-magnitude-estimation procedure. The data from both series of experiments defined the same relationship between stimulus velocity and perceived stimulus distance. More specifically, although the length of skin contacted by the stimulus was the same at all velocities, subjects' estimates of stimulus distance decreased with increasing stimulus velocity. In addition, the function relating estimates of stimulus distance to velocity was flat for velocities between 5 and 20 cm/sec, but possessed an appreciable negative slope at lower and higher velocities.It is interesting that the plateau of the relationship between perceived stimulus distance and velocity occurred within the range of velocities that human subjects employ to scan textured surfaces; it also corresponded precisely with the range of stimulus velocities at which the directional sensitivity of somatosensory cortical neurons and human subjects is optimal. 相似文献

目的:探究肾静态显像(99m Tc-DMSA)在上尿路感染诊断工作中的应用意义。方法:选取2012年7月至2015年2月我院收治的60例上尿路感染患儿为研究对象,均行肾静态显像检查,并与B超检查结果进行对比分析。结果:肾静态显像提示:60例上尿路感染患儿中,肾脏损害占90.00%,其中8例肾疤痕形成,46例急性肾盂肾炎改变,6例正常;在肾脏病变范围上,≤2岁年龄组患儿较2岁年龄组患儿更为广泛,且前者程度更为严重。B超提示肾脏损害占26.67%,其中18例尿路感染反复发作;16例(26.67%)伴有急性肾盂肾炎改变,未检出肾疤痕。B超诊断上尿路感染的阳性率达26.67%,肾静态显像检查诊断上尿路感染的阳性率为90.00%,两者比较差异有显著性(P0.05)。结论:99mTc-DMSA在上尿路感染诊断工作中具有重要的应用意义,可明确病变性质、程度及范围,并可随访病变转归,指导临床治疗,属于上尿路感染的实验室补充性指标,值得临床积极推广。 相似文献

The upper lamina propria (ULP) area of interstitial cells (IC) has been studied extensively in bladder, but is rather unexplored in the rest of the urinary tract. This cell layer is intriguing because of the localization directly underneath the urothelium, the intercellular contacts and the close relationship with nerve endings and capillaries. In this study, we examine the ULP layer of IC in human renal pelvis, ureter and urethra, and we make a comparison with ULP IC in bladder. Tissue was obtained from normal areas in nephrectomy, cystectomy and prostatectomy specimens, and processed for morphology, immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy. A morphological and immunohistochemical phenotype for the ULP IC was assessed and region-dependent differences were looked for. The ULP IC in renal pelvis, ureter and urethra had a similar ultrastructural phenotype, which differed somehow from that of bladder IC, that is, thinner and longer cytoplasmic processes, no peripheral actin filaments and presence of dense core granules and microtubules. Together with their immunohistochemical profile, these features are most compatible with the phenotype of telocytes, a recently discovered group of stromal cells. Based on their global ultrastructural and immunohistochemical phenotype, ULP IC in human bladder should also be classified as telocytes. The most striking immunohistochemical finding was the variable expression of oestrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR). The functional relevance of ULP telocytes in the urinary tract remains to be elucidated, and ER and PR might therefore be promising pharmacological research targets. 相似文献

Zaprionus indianus is a cosmopolitan drosophilid, of Afrotropical origin, which has recently colonized South America. The sexual dimorphism
(SD) of body size is low, males being almost as big as females. We investigated 10 natural populations, 5 from America and
5 from Africa, using the isofemale line technique. Three traits were measured on each fly: wing and thorax length and sternopleural
bristle number. Two indices of SD were compared, and found to be highly correlated (r > 0.99). For the sake of simplicity, only the female/male (F/M) ratio was further considered. A significant genetic variability
of SD was found in all cases, although with a low heritability (intra-class correlation of 0.13), about half the value found
for the traits themselves. For size SD, we did not find any variation among continents or any latitudinal trend, and average
values were 1.02 for wing length and 1.01 for thorax length. Bristle number SD was much greater (1.07). Among mass laboratory
strains, SD was genetically much more variable than in recently collected populations, a likely consequence of laboratory
drift. Altogether, SD, although genetically variable and prone to laboratory drift, is independent of size variations and

Sexually selected traits can be costly to produce and maintain. The amount of resources available to an individual is therefore expected to influence investment in costly sexual traits. While resource-dependent expression of sexually selected traits has traditionally been examined in males, resource limitation can also influence how sexual selection operates in females. Female reproductive fluids are thought to be costly to produce and may play an important role in shaping the outcome of postcopulatory sexual selection by influencing sperm performance. However, we know surprisingly little about whether and how female reproductive fluids are influenced by resource limitation. Here, we examine if resource restriction influences female reproductive fluid-sperm interactive effects in the pygmy halfbeak (Dermogenys collettei), a small internally fertilizing freshwater fish where females store sperm. After experimentally altering female diets (high vs. restricted diets), we compared how female reproductive fluids influence two key metrics of sperm quality: sperm viability and velocity. While female reproductive fluids enhanced sperm viability and velocity, we found no evidence that female diet influenced the interactive effect between female reproductive fluids and sperm viability or velocity. Our findings build on the growing evidence that female reproductive fluids influence sperm performance and call for further attention to be devoted to understanding how resource quantity and quality influence how female reproductive fluids affect sperm performance. 相似文献

了解泌尿外科住院患者泌尿系感染病原菌的分布及其对常用抗菌药物的耐药情况。对泌尿外科泌尿系感染住院患者的消毒中段尿培养结果进行回顾性分析,尿培养菌株的鉴定、药敏分析和统计分析采用VITEK2全自动微生物仪。3 a中泌尿外科泌尿系感染住院患者共分离到细菌1 233株,其中革兰阴性杆菌772株,占62.61%,革兰阳性球菌353株,占28.63%,真菌82株,占6.65%。菌株数居前5位的细菌依次为:大肠埃希菌、肠球菌属、洋葱伯克霍尔德菌、假丝酵母菌属和变形杆菌。分离大肠埃希菌产ESBLs率为66.18%,粪肠球菌中未发现VRE菌株,屎肠球菌VRE为0.8%。未发现对美洛培南耐药的大肠埃希菌,对肠埃希菌耐药率在10%以下的有亚胺培南、阿米卡星、哌拉西林/他唑巴坦和呋喃妥因。洋葱伯克霍尔德菌和铜绿假单胞菌对所监测的抗菌药物均有不同程度的耐药。未发现对万古霉素、替考拉宁及氨苄西林耐药的粪肠球菌。泌尿系感染的病原菌以大肠埃希菌和肠球菌为主,非发酵革兰阴性杆菌及假丝酵母菌所占比例超过20%,不容忽视,病原菌的耐药率较高,临床医生应根据尿培养和药敏试验结果合理使用抗菌药物。 相似文献

At hatching, the oesophagus of haddock Melanogrammus aeglefinus lacks goblet cells, the intestine is a simple undifferentiated tube, the liver is present as a rounded mass caudal to the heart, and numerous zymogen granules are present in the pancreas. The first intestinal convolution appears at day 2, at the posterior end of the digestive tract. The oesophagus displays alcian blue and PAS positive mucus secreting cells on day 12, which become numerous by day 15. By day 18, epithelial cells of the posterior intestine show evidence of protein absorption in the form of supranuclear vacuoles. The swimbladder inflates in 50% of the larvae by day 22, although inflation rate is highly variable. By day 35, or 10 mm, a pyloric caecal ridge appears which separates the presumptive stomach, which is now showing evidence of gastric gland formation, from the intestine. This marks the beginning of digestive features characteristic of the juvenile stage. 相似文献
