This paper describes, for the first time, de novo adventitious root formation from thin cell layers (TCLs) of Arabidopsis thaliana. The objective of the study was to determine the optimal hormonal and light conditions and the optimal exogenous Ca2+ concentration for obtaining adventitious rooting (AR) from A. thaliana TCLs and to identify the tissue(s) involved in the process. The results show that maximum AR was obtained with a single-phase method in the presence of 10 M indole-3-butyric acid and 0.1 M kinetin under continuous darkness for 30 days and with 0.6 mM exogenous CaCl2. The endodermis was the only tissue involved in root meristemoid formation. Transition metal nitrides (TMNs) inevitably aggregate in the high‐temperature thermal ammonolysis process, resulting in blocking of the active catalytic sites and serious decreases in their corresponding catalytic performance. Therefore, how to synthesize ultrasmall TMNs with higher exposed unsaturated coordination sites is still a challenge. Herein, ultrathin Ni3FeN (Ni3FeN@SiO2) with the size of ≈ 20 nm and thickness of ≈ 3.0 nm is fabricated by SiO2 protection strategy. The obtained Ni3FeN@SiO2 displays outstanding performance in NH3BH3 hydrolytic dehydrogenation due to the high specific surface area, intrinsic metal‐vacancies, and hydrophilic SiO2 layer.  相似文献

It has been shown that with a cation (K+, Na+, Ca2+) concentration gradient on a Millipore filter impregnated with a decane solution of phospholipid, in the presence of a Men+/nH+ exchanger (nigericin, monensin, A23187), addition of a protonophore induces the formation of an electric potential positively charged on the side where the concentration of the cation is lower. The formation of the potential is induced by the hydrogen ion concentration gradient in the filter and in the unstirred layers as a result of the Men+/nH+ exchange. In such a system, with a pH gradient on the filter in the presence of monensin and valinomycin, a potential is generated with the plus on the side of the lower concentration of hydrogen. The effect is the result of the formation of a potassium ion concentration gradient in the unstirred layers in the course of the K+/H+ exchange. It is concluded that phospholipid-impregnated filters can be used for search and identification of electroneutral membrane ionophores of the Men+/nH+ exchanger type.  相似文献

Barley seedlings that show mosaic expression of chlorophyll were selected from the progenies of mutagenized seeds. The sectored plants were grown under conditions that lead to the formation of lateral tillers, and a fraction of these had different kinds of leaf variegation. These sectorially and periclinally chimeric shoots were used to analyze the cellular organization of the barley shoot apex and the clonal development of the leaf. The shoot apex is organized in two cell lineages, L1 and L2. As well as giving rise to the epidermis, the L1 layer contributes to leaf mesophyll, particularly at the margins, but, on the adaxial side of leaf laminae, also in more central positions. The L1 layer alone is responsible for the formation of the hood, a flower homologue structure present in strains homozygoous for the dominant allele at the K (hooded ) locus. The relative contribution of L2 to leaf formation decreases in younger tillers and during tiller development from the basal to the flag leaf. Transmission electron microscopy was utilized to examine pollen walls of selected taxa in theAizoaceae, Amaranthaceae, Basellaceae, Cactaceae, Chenopodiaceae, Didiereaceae, Halophytaceae, Nyctaginaceae, Phytolaccaceae, Portulacaceae, andCaryophyllaceae. This conspectus is an adjunct to scanning electron microscope observations of pollen surfaces and is directed towards elucidating the basic wall structure for these families. Although differences in internal morphology were observed at the inter- and intra-familial levels, they were interpreted as reflecting variations rather than major differences. The data indicate close morphological similarities of the first ten families enumerated above, i.e., those containing betalains. TheCaryophyllaceae, an anthocyanin family, indicated a slightly greater heterogeneity of pollen ultrastructure but not to the extent of disassociating it from the betalain families. In fact, this heterogeneity was rivaled by comparable heterogeneity among and within some of the betalain families. All genera ofAnnonaceae endemic in Australia (Ancana, Fitzalania, Haplostichanthus) show almost exactly the same type of disulcate (disulculate) pollen with intact exine extending over the sulci. Tetrad stages inHaplostichanthus andAncana reveal a latudinal subequatiorial orientation of the two sulci at the proximal hemisphere. Sometimes they fuse into a ±zonosulcate aperture.Fissistigma pollen grains are ±globose and have a flattened pole with a central elevation and a concentric groove, covered by a somewhat reduced exine. This palynological characters give further support for separating the generaAncana andFissistigma. Germination was observed inHaplostichanthus where the pollen tube emerges at one of the two sulci and inFissistigma where the flattened part breaks up during germination. The aperture types described here are obviously transitional stages between aperturate and inaperturate pollen grains and are discussed in regard to pollen evolution.  相似文献

Cornukaempferia is a recently described genus of Zingiberaceae which only occurs in Thailand as a rare genus with limited geographical distribution. Only three species have been described so far, including a recently described new species, C. larsenii. These three species are morphologically very similar and additional data on other biological aspects are useful for the elucidation of their relationship. Pollen morphology of all three species of genus Cornukaempferia has been studied by light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The pollen grains are monad, spherical, inaperturate. The exine sculpture is echinate with psilate between the spines for C. aurantiflora and C. longipetiolata, or echinate with regulate between the spines for C. larsenii. This obser-vation helps support the taxonomic status of C. larsenii.  相似文献
