This pioneering study reported about the film-forming properties of high-molecular-weight chitosan as followed in situ by attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy, and has implications in fields such as biomedical, pharmaceutical, packaging, and coating applications. From the results, it was observed that immediately after dissolution in an acetic acid aqueous solution and subsequent casting over the ATR crystal, the formed carboxylate antimicrobial (-NH3+ -OOCH) species are not stable in the film formulation and become reduced over time; further assays confirmed previous research, which suggested that the presence and stability of these groups is strongly dependent, among other factors, on storage conditions. As-received chitosan and chitosan neutralized in NaOH films did not exhibit biocide performance towards Staphylococcus aureus. The antimicrobial tests were also found to strongly relate the presence of a sufficient quantity of these carboxylate groups to the chitosan activity as a biocide agent. Moreover, a novel methodology based on the use of a normalized infrared band centered at 1405 cm(-1) is proposed which can be correlated with the antimicrobial character of the biopolymer. 相似文献

This study examined the effects of three application methods (chisel injection, Avenger coulter injection, and drip irrigation) and two plastic films (polyethylene film [PE] and virtually impermeable film [VIF]) on distribution of cis- and trans- 1,3-dichloropropene (1,3-D) and chloropicrin (CP) in a Florida sandy soil after application of Telone C35 or Telone In-Line. Regardless of application method, VIF retained greater amounts of cis- and trans-1,3-D and CP in the root zone with longer residential time than PE. There was better retention of the three compounds in the root zone when applied with the Avenger coulter injection rig than chisel injection, especially in combination with VIF. Distribution of the three compounds in the root zone was less predictable when applied by drip irrigation. Following drip irrigation, more than 50% of the three compounds in the PE and VIF-covered beds was found near the end of the drip tapes in one experiment, whereas the distribution was much more uniform in the root zone in a second experiment. Among the three biologically active compounds, CP disappeared from the root zone more rapidly than cis- and trans-1,3-D, especially in the PE-covered beds. 相似文献

For the prediction of the air and product temperatures, the product moisture, and the air humidity during a coating process
in a Bohle Lab-Coater, a model was developed. The purpose of this work was to determine the limit moisture, the critical moisture,
and the constant for the exchange rate between both zones and to use these values for other sets of experiments to test the
model. The adaptation of the 3 parameters (limit moisture, critical moisture, and exchange rate constant), was done by calculation
of the product temperature in both zones for several sets of parameters in order to minimize the sum of square deviation between
the calculated and the measured product temperatures. This set of parameters was used to test the validity of the model. By
applying the model, the product temperature could be predicted based on the product, process, and equipment-related parameters.
Hence, the model can be used to theoretically investigate the influence of different process paramaters. The mean difference
between the predicted, and measured product temperatures in the steady state is ≈2 up to 3 K using the determined parameter
set for the limit moisture, the critical moisture, and the exchange rate constant. The model is useful for the prediction
of the air and product temperatures, the product moisture, and air humidity during a coating process in the Bohle Lab-Coater

Nanosecond Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) in the presence of a background gas allows the deposition of metal oxides with tunable morphology, structure, density and stoichiometry by a proper control of the plasma plume expansion dynamics. Such versatility can be exploited to produce nanostructured films from compact and dense to nanoporous characterized by a hierarchical assembly of nano-sized clusters. In particular we describe the detailed methodology to fabricate two types of Al-doped ZnO (AZO) films as transparent electrodes in photovoltaic devices: 1) at low O2 pressure, compact films with electrical conductivity and optical transparency close to the state of the art transparent conducting oxides (TCO) can be deposited at room temperature, to be compatible with thermally sensitive materials such as polymers used in organic photovoltaics (OPVs); 2) highly light scattering hierarchical structures resembling a forest of nano-trees are produced at higher pressures. Such structures show high Haze factor (>80%) and may be exploited to enhance the light trapping capability. The method here described for AZO films can be applied to other metal oxides relevant for technological applications such as TiO2, Al2O3, WO3 and Ag4O4. 相似文献

目的:研究16层螺旋电子计算机断层扫描(CT)三维重建与数字化摄影(DR)平片检查对外伤性肋骨骨折的诊断价值,为临床诊治提供参考。方法:将2017年6月至2018年6月期间于本院接受诊治的82例外伤性肋骨骨折患者作为研究对象,所有患者均接受16层螺旋CT三维重建与DR平片检查,观察并记录患者的骨折发生部位,并比较两种诊断方法对外伤性肋骨骨折诊断的准确率、灵敏度、特异性、阳性预测值、阴性预测值以及漏诊情况。结果:82例外伤性肋骨骨折患者经影像学与临床诊断明确发生骨折179处,多发性骨折发生率为62.20%,单发性骨折发生率为37.80%,骨折肋骨段位中4-10段骨折发生率最高为69.83%,骨折肋骨水平阶段中腋肋骨折发生率最高为59.78%。相较于DR平片,16层螺旋CT三维重建诊断外伤性肋骨骨折的准确率、灵敏度、特异性、阳性预测值、阴性预测值更高,漏诊率更低,差异有统计学意义(P0.05)。结论:相较于DR平片检查,应用16层螺旋CT三维重建检查外伤性肋骨骨折能明显提高临床诊断的准确率、灵敏度和特异性,减少漏诊,可为临床诊治提供更可靠的信息,值得临床推广。 相似文献

AimThe main purpose of the present study is assessment of skin dose in breast cancer radiotherapy.BackgroundAccurate assessment of skin dose in radiotherapy can provide useful information for clinical considerations.Materials and methodsA RANDO phantom was irradiated using a 6 MV Siemens Primus linac with medial and tangential radiotherapy fields for simulating breast cancer treatment. Dosimetry was also performed on various positions across the fields using an EBT3 radiochromic film. Similar conditions of measurement on the RANDO phantom including field size, irradiation angle, number of fields, etc. were subsequently simulated via the Monte Carlo N-Particle Transport code (MCNP). Ultimately, dose values for corresponding points from both methods were compared.ResultsConsidering dosimetry using radiochromic films on the RANDO phantom, there were points having underdose and overdose based on the prescribed dose and skin tolerance levels. In this respect, 81.25% and 18.75% of the points had underdose and overdose, respectively. In some cases, several differences were observed between the measurement and the MCNP simulation results associated with skin dose.ConclusionBased on the results of the points which had underdose, it was suggested that a bolus should be used for the given points. With regard to overdose points, it was advocated to consider skin tolerance dose in treatment planning. Differences between the measurement and the MCNP simulation results might be due to voxel size of tally cells in simulations, effect of beam’s angle of incidence, validation time of linac’s head, lack of electronic equilibrium in the build-up region, as well as MCNP tally type. 相似文献

An electrochemical biosensor is described consisting of a thin-layer gold film electrode prepared by cathodic sputtering using a poly(vinyl chloride) sheet as substrate, with voltammetric behaviour comparable to that of conventional polycrystalline gold electrodes, coated with the hydrolysed copolymer hydroxyethyl methacrylate-co-methyl methacrylate onto which glucose oxidase was immobilized. The mechanical properties of the plastic foil substrate permit easy construction of circular-shaped electrodes which were employed as working electrodes for batch injection analysis. The electrochemical biosensor fabrication is inexpensive and can be used as disposable enzyme sensor for the detection of hydrogen peroxide. The biosensor was tested for the determination of glucose in serum and a good correlation was obtained with the measurement using the electrochemical and the spectrophotometric methods. 相似文献

Frost damage to potatoes, grapevine and citrus plants was assessed following treatment with either an acrylic polymer (Antistress?) or with a hydrophobic particle film (CM‐96–018). In large freezing tests, the application of the hydrophobic particle film consistently led to less damage whilst the acrylic polymer led to the same amount or more damage when compared to control plants. Detailed examination of the freezing of leaves of all three species using infrared thermal imaging revealed that the hydrophobic particle film delayed the entry of ice from a frozen water droplet containing ice nucleating active bacteria and in some cases for the complete duration of the frost test. In contrast, the acrylic polymer was only able to influence the time of ice nucleation of the leaves of citrus plants. It was concluded that the hydrophobic particle film shows considerable promise as a frost protectant applied to susceptible crops just prior to a freezing event. 相似文献
