New Taxa of Zingiberaceae from Yunnan

Twelve new species of Zingiberaceae are described from Yunnan Province, China. They are Amomum fragle S. Q. Tong, A. quadrato-laminare S. Q. Tong, A. verrucosum S. Q. Tong, A. glabrum S. Q. Tong, A. capsiciforme S. Q. Tong, A. coriandriodorum S. Q. Tong, Alpinia rubromaculata S. Q. Tong, A. emaculata S. Q. Tong, Zingiber nigrimaculatum S. Q. Tong, Hedychium glabrum S. Q. Tong, Costus viridis S. Q. Tong and Costus oblongus S. Q.Tong. A key to species of the genus Costus is given at the end of text.     

新疆赖草属的新分类群

发表了禾本科赖草属的二个新种及一个新亚种:高株赖草Leymus altus D.F.Cui, sp.nov.,阿尔金山赖草L.arjinshanicus D.F.Cui, sp.nov.,大药窄颖赖草L.angustus subsp.macroantherus D.F.Cui, subsp.nov.。     

Notes on the Genera Sauropus and Cleistanthus of Euphorbiaceae in China

This paper is an outcome of taxonomic studies of Chinese Sauropus and Cleistanthus. The former consists of two sections and 14 species of which three species are new; the latter is of 6 species, of which 3 species are first recorded from China. These two genera are mainly distributed in southwestern and south China.

Factors Affecting Macroinvertebrate Richness and Diversity in Portuguese Streams: a Two‐Scale Analysis

We analysed the spatial patterns in macroinvertebrate taxon richness and abundance at two scales: sampling unit and basin. We sampled 12 stream sites in three zones of Portugal, differing in climate geomorphology and water chemistry. At a sampling unit scale, substratum organic matter content, depth and the dominant size of substratum particles were correlated with numbers of taxa and individuals. We propose that the number of taxa at a small scale depends on the number of individuals, which in turn is the result of organic matter accumulation, hydrologic and substratum characteristics. The environmental parameters better explaining the large‐scale biological data were temperature, minimum size of substratum particles and pH. Regardless of the relative importance of variable types and mechanisms regulating stream invertebrates along the climatic gradient, rivers from the North and Centre appeared to be richer in taxa than the typically Mediterranean streams in the South.     

中国苦苣苔科三特有属花粉形态研究

对中国苦苣苔科异片苣苔属、长檐苣苔属和报春苣苔属等3个特有属中3种代表植物的花粉形态进行了光镜和扫描电镜的观察。结果发现这些植物的花粉形状比较一致,均为长球形或近球形,表明花粉形状对苦苣苔科的系统与分类没有太大的参考价值。观察到两种类型的花粉外壁纹饰:细网状纹饰、粗网状纹饰;异片苣苔属具粗网状纹饰,长檐苣苔属和报春苣苔属具细网状纹饰。还讨论了一些花粉外壁纹饰特征在苦苣苔科的系统研究方面的潜在价值。

A new species of Aeneator Finlay, 1926 (Mollusca,Gastropoda, Buccinidae) from northern Chile,with comments on the genus and a key to the Chilean species

A new species of the genus Aeneator Finlay, 1926 is described from off the coast of Caldera (27°S), northern Chile. Aeneator martae sp. n. has a small, broad, stout, angulated shell with more prominent axial ribs and a more obviously keeled periphery than all previously named Chilean species. Comparisons are provided with all other South American named species of Aeneator.
