目的:探讨牙科高速气涡轮切割手机配合阻生牙专用加长裂钻拔牙对口腔外科门诊需要拔除下颌阻生第三磨牙患者的影响。方法:选取我院收治的59例需要拔除下颌阻生第三磨牙患者,按照随机数字表法将所有患者随机分为试验组和对照组两组。其中试验组患者采用牙科高速气涡轮切割手机辅助阻生牙专用加长裂钻进行拔牙,而对照组患者则采取传统的劈骨分牙法,通过两组患者的术后复诊对患者的下唇麻木、断根等发生率以及张口受限、疼痛、肿胀等情况进行评价。结果:根据我院对两组患者的术中情况及术后并发症情况进行统计分析,结果显示试验组患者的手术时间为(25.68±6.83)min,明显低于对照组患者[(35.23±14.23)min,t=3.962,P=0.000]。试验组患者中仅有1例术后出现断根情况,无其他并发症出现;而对照组患者术后则有3例断根情况和1例下唇麻木患者(后逐渐缓解)、1例下颌关节疼痛以及1例舌侧骨板骨折患者。根据我院对两组患者术后1d的临床资料进行统计分析,结果显示试验组患者术后1d面部肿胀程度明显比对照组患者轻(P0.05);试验组患者的疼痛情况明显优于对照组患者(P0.05);试验组患者的张口受限程度明显比对照组患者轻(P0.05)。结论:牙科高速气涡轮切割手机配合阻生牙专用加长裂钻拔牙对口腔外科门诊需要拔除下颌阻生第三磨牙患者具有较好的临床治疗效果,值得在临床上加以广泛推广和运用。  相似文献

The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between temperature–humidity index (THI) and rumination time (RT) in order to possibly exploit it as a useful tool for animal welfare improvement. During summer 2015 (1 June to 31 August), data from an Italian Holstein dairy farm located in the North of Italy were collected along with environmental data (i.e. ambient temperature and relative humidity) recorded with a weather station installed inside the barn. Rumination data were collected through the Heatime® HR system (SCR Engineers Ltd., Hadarim, Netanya, Israel), an automatic system composed of a neck collar with a Tag that records the RT and activity of each cow. A significant negative correlation was observed between RT and THI. Mixed linear models were fitted, including animal and test day as random effects, and parity, milk production level and date of last calving as fixed effects. A statistically significant effect of THI on RT was identified, with RT decreasing as THI increased.  相似文献

Several EU countries import wood pellets from the south‐eastern United States. The imported wood pellets are (co‐)fired in power plants with the aim of reducing overall greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from electricity and meeting EU renewable energy targets. To assess whether GHG emissions are reduced and on what timescale, we construct the GHG balance of wood‐pellet electricity. This GHG balance consists of supply chain and combustion GHG emissions, carbon sequestration during biomass growth and avoided GHG emissions through replacing fossil electricity. We investigate wood pellets from four softwood feedstock types: small roundwood, commercial thinnings, harvest residues and mill residues. Per feedstock, the GHG balance of wood‐pellet electricity is compared against those of alternative scenarios. Alternative scenarios are combinations of alternative fates of the feedstock materials, such as in‐forest decomposition, or the production of paper or wood panels like oriented strand board (OSB). Alternative scenario composition depends on feedstock type and local demand for this feedstock. Results indicate that the GHG balance of wood‐pellet electricity equals that of alternative scenarios within 0–21 years (the GHG parity time), after which wood‐pellet electricity has sustained climate benefits. Parity times increase by a maximum of 12 years when varying key variables (emissions associated with paper and panels, soil carbon increase via feedstock decomposition, wood‐pellet electricity supply chain emissions) within maximum plausible ranges. Using commercial thinnings, harvest residues or mill residues as feedstock leads to the shortest GHG parity times (0–6 years) and fastest GHG benefits from wood‐pellet electricity. We find shorter GHG parity times than previous studies, for we use a novel approach that differentiates feedstocks and considers alternative scenarios based on (combinations of) alternative feedstock fates, rather than on alternative land uses. This novel approach is relevant for bioenergy derived from low‐value feedstocks.  相似文献

Dysfunctions in tissue metabolism can be detected at early stages by oxygen partial pressure (pO2) measurement. The measurement of emission lifetimes offers very promising and non‐invasive approach to estimate pO2 in vivo. This study compares two extensively used oxygen sensors and assesses their in vivo oxygen sensitivity and phototoxic effect. Luminescence lifetime of Ru‐polypyridyl complex and of Pd‐porphyrin is measured in the Chick's Chorioallantoic Membrane (CAM) model with a dedicated optical fiber‐based, time‐resolved spectrometer. The Pd‐porphyrin luminescence lifetimes measured in the CAM model exposed to different pO2 levels are longer and have a broader dynamic range (10–100 μs) than those of Ru‐polypyridyl complex (0.6–1 μs). The combined statistical analysis based on an estimate of the kurtosis and skewness, bootstrapping method and routine normality tests is performed. The indicators of the averages and signal to noise ratio stability are also calculated. The combination of several data processing allows selection of the better sensor for a given application. In particular, it is found that the advantage of Ru‐polypyridyl complex over Pd‐porphyrin is two‐fold: i) Ru‐polypyridyl complex datasets have consistently better statistical characteristics, ii) Ru‐polypyridyl exhibits lower cytotoxicity.

BackgroundImplementation of standardised cancer patient pathways (CPPs) has provided faster diagnosis of cancer. Cancer survival has improved during the same time period. Concern has been raised that the faster diagnosis may have introduced lead-time bias by elongating the period from diagnosis to death.AimWe aimed to analyse the possible effect of lead time on survival due to expedited cancer diagnosis after the implementation of national CPPs among incident cancer patients diagnosed through Danish primary care.Material and methodsWe used actual observed differences in diagnostic intervals to estimate the lead-time effect. We used data from sub-cohorts from the Danish Cancer in Primary Care (CaP) cohort of first-time cancer patients: before and after CPP implementation. To calculate differences in absolute survival, we estimated the survival function after advancing the date of diagnosis in the before cohort to an earlier point in time and hereby adjusting for lead time for nine cancer types and all combined by using Kaplan-Meier analysis.ResultsAdvancing the date of diagnosis implied that the absolute one-year survival increased from 68.5% to 69.4%. This accounted for 13% of the observed differences in absolute one-year survival from before to after CPPs.ConclusionThe lead time caused by shorter diagnostic intervals after implementation of Cancer Patient Pathways seems to explain less than 15% of the observed changes in the one-year survival estimates for cancer patients in Denmark.  相似文献

The statistical tools available to ecologists are becoming increasingly sophisticated, allowing more complex, mechanistic models to be fit to ecological data. Such models have the potential to provide new insights into the processes underlying ecological patterns, but the inferences made are limited by the information in the data. Statistical nonestimability of model parameters due to insufficient information in the data is a problem too‐often ignored by ecologists employing complex models. Here, we show how a new statistical computing method called data cloning can be used to inform study design by assessing the estimability of parameters under different spatial and temporal scales of sampling. A case study of parasite transmission from farmed to wild salmon highlights that assessing the estimability of ecologically relevant parameters should be a key step when designing studies in which fitting complex mechanistic models is the end goal.  相似文献

The pace of climate change in the Arctic is dramatic, with temperatures rising at a rate double the global average. The timing of flowering and fruiting (phenology) is often temperature dependent and tends to advance as the climate warms. Herbarium specimens, photographs, and field observations can provide historical phenology records and have been used, on a localised scale, to predict species’ phenological sensitivity to climate change. Conducting similar localised studies in the Canadian Arctic, however, poses a challenge where the collection of herbarium specimens, photographs, and field observations have been temporally and spatially sporadic. We used flowering and seed dispersal times of 23 Arctic species from herbarium specimens, photographs, and field observations collected from across the 2.1 million km2 area of Nunavut, Canada, to determine (1) which monthly temperatures influence flowering and seed dispersal times; (2) species’ phenological sensitivity to temperature; and (3) whether flowering or seed dispersal times have advanced over the past 120 years. We tested this at different spatial scales and compared the sensitivity in different regions of Nunavut. Broadly speaking, this research serves as a proof of concept to assess whether phenology–climate change studies using historic data can be conducted at large spatial scales. Flowering times and seed dispersal time were most strongly correlated with June and July temperatures, respectively. Seed dispersal times have advanced at double the rate of flowering times over the past 120 years, reflecting greater late‐summer temperature rises in Nunavut. There is great diversity in the flowering time sensitivity to temperature of Arctic plant species, suggesting climate change implications for Arctic ecological communities, including altered community composition, competition, and pollinator interactions. Intraspecific temperature sensitivity and warming trends varied markedly across Nunavut and could result in greater changes in some parts of Nunavut than in others.  相似文献

Leg autotomy can be a very effective strategy for escaping a predation attempt in many animals. In spiders, autotomy can be very common (5–40% of individuals can be missing legs) and has been shown to reduce locomotor speeds, which, in turn, can reduce the ability to find food, mates, and suitable habitat. Previous work on spiders has focused mostly on the influence of limb loss on horizontal movements. However, limb loss can have differential effects on locomotion on the nonhorizontal substrates often utilized by many species of spiders. We examined the effects of leg autotomy on maximal speed and kinematics while moving on horizontal, 45° inclines, and vertical (90°) inclines in the cellar spider Pholcus manueli, a widespread species that is a denizen of both natural and anthropogenic, three‐dimensional microhabitats, which frequently exhibits autotomy in nature. Maximal speeds and kinematic variables were measured in all spiders, which were run on all three experimental inclines twice. First, all spiders were run at all inclines prior to autotomization. Second, half of the spiders had one of the front legs removed, while the other half was left intact before all individuals were run a second time on all inclines. Speeds decreased with increasing incline and following autotomy at all inclines. Autotomized spiders exhibited a larger decrease in speed when moving horizontally compared to on inclines. Stride length decreased at 90° but not after autotomy. Stride cycle time and duty factor increased after autotomy, but not when moving uphill. Results show that both incline and leg autotomy reduce speed with differential effects on kinematics with increasing incline reducing stride length, but not stride cycle time or duty factor, and vice versa for leg autotomy. The lack of a significant influence on a kinematic variable could be evidence for partial compensation to mitigate speed reduction.  相似文献

Here we report on translocation of short poly-arginines across the MOMP porin, the major outer membrane protein in the cell wall of Campylobacter jejuni. MOMP was purified to homogeneity from a pathogenic strain of C. jejuni. Its reconstitution in lipid membranes and measuring the ion-current revealed two main distinct populations of protein channels which we interpreted as mono and trimers. Addition of poly-arginines causes concentration and voltage dependent ion-current fluctuations. Increasing the transmembrane potential decreases the residence time of the peptide inside the channel indicating successful translocation. We conclude that poly-arginines can cross the outer membrane of Campylobacter through the MOMP channel.  相似文献
