基于生态足迹模型的延边林区可持续发展评价 总被引:11,自引:5,他引:11
生态足迹是评价可持续发展状况和能力的重要指标之一。本文以统计年鉴和林业年鉴为主要数据来源,对延边林区1996~2002年的生态足迹进行了计算和分析。结果表明,该区人均生态足迹逐年下降,人均生态承载力波动较小,而人均生态盈余逐年增长。人均万元GDP生态足迹逐年递减,同西部地区相当,而明显高于东部。人均林地生态足迹变化平稳,天然林保护工程实施前后林地生产足迹和林地出口足迹的平均值分别降低了0.341和0.327 hm2.人-1,降幅分别为46.32%和54.94%。延边区域和林业的发展是可持续的,天然林保护工程的实施有助于增强其可持续发展能力,但同林业发达国家相比,仍有很大差距。依靠科技,提高单位面积林地产量和资源利用率,合理经营和管理森林生态系统是今后的工作重点。 相似文献

The restinga comprises coastal vegetation formations which dominate the Atlantic seaboard of Brazil. Exposed sand ridges and associated lagoon systems have poorly developed soils subject to pronounced water deficits. Distinct vegetation zones support a high diversity of life forms, and a comparative study has been undertaken to investigate interactions between degree of exposure, nutrient supply and photosynthetic pathway (C3, or CAM) in selected species across the restinga. A number of species occurring throughout the restinga were chosen as representative species of different life forms, comprising C3 pioneer shrubs (Eugenia rotundifolia and Erythroxylum ovalifolium), impounding (tank) terrestrial bromeliad (Neoregelia cruenta: CAM) and the atmospheric epiphyte (Tillandsia stricta: CAM). Comparisons of plant and soil nutrient composition, and airborne deposition were conducted for each zone. Soil nutrient content and organic matter were closely related, reaching a maximum in zone 4, the seaward face of the inner dune. Salt concentration in leaves was independent of atmospheric deposition for the terrestrial species, in contrast to the atmospheric epiphyte T. stricta. In the slack area, vegetation formed characteristic “islands” with the soil beneath enriched in nutrients, suggesting a complex interplay between plants and soil during the development of vegetation succession. Here, two additional trees were investigated, C3 and CAM members of the Clusiaceae, respectively Clusia lanceolata and C. fluminensis. Stable isotope composition of nitrogen (δ15N) was generally more negative (depleted in 15N) in plants with low total nitrogen content. This was exemplified by the atmospheric bromeliad, T. stricta, with an N content of 2.91 g/kg and δ15N of ?12.3 per mil. Stable isotopes of carbon (δ13C) were used to identify the distribution of photosynthetic pathways, and while the majority of bromeliads and orchids were CAM, analysis of the soil organic matter suggested that C3 plants made the major contribution in each zone of the restinga. Since δ13C of plant material also suggested that water supply was optimal in zone 4, we conclude that succession and high diversity in the restinga is dependent on exposure, edaphic factors, and perhaps a critical mass of vegetation required to stabilize nutrient relations of the system. 相似文献

We tested the hypothesis that P was the nutrient limiting net primary production of a nativeMetrosideros polymorpha forest on a highly weathered montane tropical soil in Hawaii. A factorial experiment used all combinations of three fertilizer treatments: nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and a mix of other essential nutrients (OE), consisting primarily of mineral derived cations and excluding N and P. P addition, but not N or OE, increased leaf area index within 12 months, foliar P concentration measured at 18 months, and stem diameter increment within 18 months. Stem growth at 18 months was even greater when trees fertilized with P also received the OE treatment. N and P additions increased leaf litterfall and N and P in combination further increased litterfall. The sequence of responses suggests that increased available P promoted an increase in photosynthetic area which led to increased wood production. P was the essential element most limiting to primary production on old volcanic soil in contrast to the N limitation found on young volcanic soils. 相似文献

Aims Natural and anthropogenic changes in forests can have important influences on transpiration and water production. Understanding the effects of increasing disturbances, due for example to climate change and forest harvesting, requires detailed information on how forest density and structural attributes relate to transpiration. Mean annual transpiration of eucalypt forest communities is often strongly correlated with total cross-sectional sapwood area. Our aim was to test an efficient method for estimating sapwood area at 1.3 m height (SA 1.3) in a large number of trees to understand the spatial heterogeneity of tree and stand sapwood area within and between forest communities, and develop allometric relationships that predict SA 1.3 with forest inventory data. We also apply tree competition models to determine the degree to which the relationship between SA 1.3 and tree basal area at 1.3 m height (BA 1.3) is influenced by competition.Methods We visited 25 recently harvested southeastern Australian forest sites consisting of 1379 trees and 5 Eucalyptus species to evaluate a new efficient data collection method for estimating SA 1.3 with tree taper and stump dimensions data using mixed effects models. The locations of 784 stumps within one 5-ha site were accurately mapped using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and four distance-dependent tree competition models were applied across the site to explain within-stand variation in the ratio of SA 1.3 to BA 1.3. Data from 24 additional sites, consisting of ten 15 m radial plots per site, were used to analyse within-site variation in R Ha (the ratio of stand sapwood area SA Ha to stand basal area BA Ha). The radial plots were merged within each site to evaluate between-site variations in R Ha across the landscape. For predicting SA Ha with forest inventory data, we computed the relationship between SA Ha and a new index of total stem perimeter per hectare, defined as ? B A H a N T, where N T is tree stocking density.Important findings Our 1379 measured stems represent the most comprehensive measure of sapwood area, surpassing the 757 measured stems in native eucalypt forests published in literature. The species-specific R Ha varied considerably across sites and therefore extrapolating SA Ha with spatially distributed BA Ha maps and a generalized R Ha would introduce local uncertainty. We found that the species-specific stem perimeter index was more effective at capturing variability in SA Ha across the landscape using forest composition, structure and density data (R 2 : 0.72–0.77). The strong correlation between tree SA 1.3 and BA 1.3 improved slightly using tree competition models (R 2 increased from 0.86 to 0.88). Relating SA Ha to routinely measured forest inventory attributes within permanent plots and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data may provide opportunities to map forest water use in time and space across large areas disturbed by wildfire and logging. 相似文献

Small vertebrates were inventoried within three habitat types in a degraded dry forest region of Panama. Animals were classified as frugivorous if they were observed foraging on fruit or if fecal samples contained mostly or exclusively seeds. Overall, we found that eight bat species and 21 bird species consumed fruit. The greatest numbers of birds were observed within live fences and bird species richness was greatest within riparian forests. Bat assemblages were not significantly different between habitats. The implication is that ecosystem services such as seed dispersal may still be functional in this landscape. 相似文献

The present study explores traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) of Turkana pastoralists and cultivators in the context of
a riverine forest in northern Kenya. The Turkwel River and its floodplain sustain a thick forest, which is used for grazing
and extraction of non-timber forest products. However, sedentarisation and agricultural expansion have resulted in localised
clear-felling of trees, while river damming has altered the natural flow regime. A series of structured, semi-structured,
and group interviews were combined with a botanical inventory in order to assess the relevance of TEK to ecological research
and forest conservation. Turkana informants gave 102 vernacular names for the 113 woody species. Of these, 85% had a domestic
or pastoral use among the 105 specific uses that were described. Ethnobotanical knowledge was relatively homogenous and not
related to age, gender, or source of livelihood. The informants had in-depth knowledge of some key ecological processes. The
conceived threats to forest survival were primarily cultivation and permanent settlements, while the effects of river damming
and livestock grazing were disputed. A claimed decline in rainfall was confirmed by official data. There is strong evidence
that TEK could be used to generate hypotheses for research and to design sustainable conservation strategies. A revised version
of the indigenous system of tree management should be incorporated into the official forestry policy in order to resolve future

The persistence of species taxa within fragmented habitats is dependent on the source–sink metapopulation processes, and forest patch size and isolation are key factors. Unveiling species–patch area and/or species–patch isolation relationships may help provide crucial information for species and landscape management. In this study, relationship between forest patch size and isolation with abundance and occupancy probability of forest-dependent birds was investigated. This study was based within a coastal landscape that faces deleterious human activities such as clearing for agriculture. The study aimed to answer the question of whether the size and extent of isolation of forest patches influence abundance and/or occupancy probability of forest-specialist and generalist birds. Two bird species, namely Tiny Greenbul Phyllastrephus debilis subsp. rabai and Yellow-bellied Greenbul Chlorocichla flaviventris, were used as models. Birds were surveyed using distance sampling methods, and spatial metrics were measured from satellite imagery. Focal forest size and distance between forest patches were the most influential metrics whereby abundance and occupancy probabilities increased with increasing patch size, but were negatively influenced by increasing gaps between patches. These findings provide evidence of the existence of patch size/ isolation–occupancy relationships characterised by higher occupancy rate of large patches and distance-dependent dispersal, which decreased with increasing gaps between patches. Controlling deleterious human activities that reduce forest size should be a priority for the long-term conservation of forest-dependent birds. 相似文献

The conservation of beetles that depend on dying or dead wood (i.e. saproxylic), has received a great deal of attention in many parts of the world in recent years. Human activities such as urbanization and logging, and their results, e.g. global warming, destroy natural ecosystems and threaten unusual species such as Lucanus cervus (L. 1758), Rosalia alpina (L. 1758), Limoniscus violaceus (Müller 1821) and Osmoderma eremita (Scopoli 1763). Attempts have been made to conserve the habitats upon which these species depend. Although represented by a large number of species, saproxylic beetles in Turkey have not received much attention. Although some Turkish studies have acknowledged their value, comprehensive investigations of these species are very limited. The aim of this study is to make a list, from the literature, of the species that are endangered in Europe and found in Turkey, to highlight the importance of these species. The research includes 151 saproxylic beetle species belonging to the families Bostrichidae, Cerambycidae, Elateridae, Eucnemidae, Scarabaeidae, Euchiridae, Lucanidae and Mycetophagidae. The list of Turkish saproxylic beetles was prepared using the European Red List of Saproxylic Beetles. Information is provided about the IUCN Red List category in Europe, the locations of the species in Turkey, and their global geographic range. We gathered all data about these species from the international literature. Furthermore, we also include in the list certain species whose locations are not specified, but which inhabit Turkey. We obtained their records from some catalogs in Turkey. In addition to the list, we prepared three distribution maps for Turkey. The maps show distribution in Turkey of some species in the Endangered, Vulnerable and Near Threatened categories in the European Red List. It is expected that this study will lead to comprehensive studies on saproxylic beetles from Turkey. 相似文献
