The stepwise colonization of islands within an archipelago is typically punctuated by successive founder effects, with each newly founded population being a subsample of the gene pool of the source island. Thus, the genetic signature of successive bottlenecks should be detected when analysing the genetic structure between islands of an archipelago. To test this prediction, we investigated introduced ship rat populations, Rattus rattus (Linnaeus, 1758), in the Guadeloupe Archipelago. Three different methods, commonly named the heterozygosity excess, the mode-shift indicator and the M ratio method, were used to detect bottlenecks from genetic data obtained with eight microsatellite markers on Guadeloupe and two neighbouring islands, Petite-Terre and Fajou. Moreover, a recent eradication failure on Fajou allowed us to test the accuracy of the methods in an 'experimental-like' situation. The results indicate that rats were introduced on Guadeloupe first, which then became the source population for independent secondary colonization of Fajou and Petite-Terre. Moreover, the heterozygosity excess and the mode-shift indicator only detected bottlenecks for the recent colonization of Petite-Terre and the eradication failure on Fajou. However, bottlenecks were detected for all the populations using the M ratio method. This could be interpreted as the remaining signature of the early introduction of the ship rat in the archipelago.  相似文献

Ninety soil samples, forty plant samples (Anabasis articulata), and twenty air samples were collected from the scrap yard of discarded vehicles near Zarqa city, Jordan. These samples were analyzed for heavy metals: Cd, Pb, Zn, Cu, Mn, Al, and Fe. Longitudinal and vertical profiles of soil samples were studied. Generally, the levels of all heavy metals studied in the scrap yard area were found to be higher than those of the control samples. The levels of heavy metals decreased with depth until reaching a constant value at 9 cm depth. The levels of heavy metals also decreased at distances farther away from the scrap yard area. A significant difference in heavy metal concentrations was found between washed and unwashed plant samples. On the other hand, no significant differences have been found between plant samples from inside and outside the scrap yard area. Air samples showed wide variations in heavy metal levels among the sampling sites. The enrichment factors for non-crustal elements such as Pb, Cd, Cu, and Zn, in both soil and particulate matter, were found to be more than 10, indicating anthropogenic sources such as dust, rust, and exhaust emissions from the scrap yard area, whereas the crustal elements such as Fe and Mn showed enrichment factors of less than 10.  相似文献

The presence of ramified and abundant lateral roots is fundamental to plant growth on highly weathered soils. In this work, the effects of humic acid (HA), fulvic acid and hexanic–methanolic (HM) extract, after alkaline extraction from topsoil of seven different oxisols, on the development of roots of Arabidopsis thaliana was evaluated. Furthermore, we used another emergent plant model, that is, micro‐tom (MT) tomatoes with size similar to that of Arabidopsis to test the effects of HA. It was observed that both humic fractions and the HM extract were able to change the root development, improving the number of lateral roots and their development in comparison to control plants. The promotion of root growth by the three organic matter fractions was higher than that observed by 10?6 mol L?1 indole acetic acid. The treatment of MT tomato mutant, less sensitive to auxin, with HA did not promote the emergence of lateral roots, being an additional indication of auxin‐like activities of HA. However, some organic matter fractions exhibited, besides promotion of lateral roots number, increase in the length of principal root, which is not a typical auxin effect, indicating that these substances could contain other physiologically active substances.  相似文献

不同林龄油茶人工林土壤酶化学计量及其影响因素   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
土壤酶化学计量比是揭示微生物生长代谢过程及评价土壤养分资源限制状况的重要指标。油茶是中国南方主要的木本油料作物,近年来愈来愈受关注,但鲜有从生态化学计量学的角度深入理解人工经济林的土壤微生物养分限制状况。本文以亚热带地区不同林龄油茶人工林土壤为研究对象,采用时空互代法在区域尺度上随机选取32个不同林龄油茶人工林并将其分为四个林龄组(9年幼龄林;9—20年近熟林;21—60年成熟林; 60年过熟林),通过测定土壤碳(C)、氮(N)、磷(P)转化酶活性(β-葡糖苷酶(BG)、α-纤维素酶(CBH)、β-乙酰葡糖胺糖苷酶(NAG)、亮氨酸氨基肽酶(LAP)、酸性磷酸酶(AP))及土壤理化因子,探讨不同林龄油茶人工林土壤C、N、P转化酶化学计量特征及其与土壤理化因子的关系。结果表明:五种C、N、P转化酶活性均有随林龄增大而增加的趋势,且AP活性显著高于其它四种酶活性。相关分析结果表明,五种土壤C、N、P转化酶活性均与土壤有机碳和总氮显著相关,与土壤总磷和速效磷含量不相关。土壤酶化学计量比ln(CBH+BG)∶ln(NAG+LAP)、ln(CBH+BG)∶ln(AP)和ln(NAG+LAP)∶ln(AP)均随林龄增大而一定程度增加。亚热带区油茶人工林土壤酶C∶N∶P化学计量比为1∶1∶1.5,这与全球生态系统土壤酶C∶N∶P化学计量比1∶1∶1相偏离,表明亚热带地区油茶人工林土壤微生物生长受磷素限制。冗余分析(RDA)进一步揭示土壤有机碳含量是影响土壤酶活性和酶化学计量比的主要因子。因此,在油茶人工林经营管理中应考虑磷和外源碳的投入,提高土壤微生物酶活性,缓解油茶人工林生态系统的磷限制。研究结果可为亚热带区油茶人工林土壤养分管理和可持续利用提供基础理论支撑。  相似文献

【目的】本研究旨在明确茚虫威亚致死浓度对茚虫威敏感性降低的棉铃虫Helicoverpa armigera生物学参数及解毒酶活性的影响,以科学有效防治这一害虫,避免其对茚虫威的抗性快速发展。【方法】采用浸叶法测定了茚虫威对棉铃虫茚虫威抗性汰选种群(TP)及其同源对照种群(CP)3龄幼虫的毒力;用两性生命表分析LC20浓度茚虫威对TP种群当代(F0)生命表参数的影响,并测定了LC20浓度茚虫威处理48 h后CP和TP种群棉铃虫3龄幼虫体内解毒酶[多功能氧化酶(MFO)、羧酸酯酶(CarE)和谷胱甘肽-S-转移酶(GST)]及乙酰胆碱酯酶(AChE)的活性。【结果】茚虫威对棉铃虫CP种群和TP种群3龄幼虫的LC20分别为2.27和9.91 mg/L。LC20茚虫威处理TP种群后,48 h的生长量、化蛹率、羽化率和成虫畸形率均显著低于未用药对照,而特定年龄生命期望值exj高于未用药对照;TP种群棉铃虫3龄幼虫体内GST和MFO活性与CP种群相比显著升高,CarE活性显著降低。【结论】本研究结果表明棉铃虫TP种群在LC20浓度茚虫威胁迫下存在明显的生长与繁殖不利性,同时对其也产生了适应能力。LC20浓度茚虫威处理后,棉铃虫TP种群的GST和MFO活性被显著诱导,说明这两种酶可能与棉铃虫对茚虫威产生抗药性密切相关;而CarE活性被显著抑制,说明该酶可能参与了茚虫威转化成N-脱甲氧羰基代谢物(DCJW)的活化过程。  相似文献

Aim Carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) stoichiometry is a critical indicator of biogeochemical coupling in terrestrial ecosystems. However, our current understanding of C : N stoichiometry is mainly derived from observations across space, and little is known about its dynamics through time. Location Global secondary forests. Methods We examined temporal variations in C : N ratios and scaling relationships between N and C for various ecosystem components (i.e. plant tissue, litter, forest floor and mineral soil) using data extracted from 39 chronosequences in forest ecosystems around the world. Results The C : N ratio in plant tissue, litter, forest floor and mineral soil exhibited large variation across various sequences, with an average of 145.8 ± 9.4 (mean ± SE), 49.9 ± 3.0, 38.2 ± 3.1 and 18.5 ± 0.9, respectively. In most sequences, the plant tissue C : N ratio increased significantly with stand age, while the C : N ratio in litter, forest floor and mineral soil remained relatively constant over the age sequence. N and C scaled isometrically (i.e. the slope of the relationship between log‐transformed N and C is not significantly different from 1.0) in litter, forest floor and mineral soil both within and across sequences, but not in plant tissue either within or across sequences. The C : N ratio was larger in coniferous forests than in broadleaf forests and in temperate forests than in tropical forests. In contrast, the N–C scaling slope did not reveal significant differences either between coniferous and broadleaf forests or between temperate and tropical forests. Main conclusions These results suggest that C and N become decoupled in plants but remain coupled in other ecosystem components during stand development.  相似文献

微生物介导的异化Fe(III) 还原是非硫厌氧环境中Fe(III) 还原生成Fe(II) 的主要途径,然而相关的铁还原菌还不是很清楚,特别是在水稻土中.本文采用富集培养的方法,以乙酸和氢气作为电子供体,水铁矿和针铁矿作为电子受体,通过末端限制性片段长度多态性(T-RFLP)技术和16S rRNA基因克隆测序相结合的分子生物学方法研究了水稻土中铁还原菌的多样性.结果表明:无论是以乙酸或氢气为电子供体,水铁矿或针铁矿为电子受体,地杆菌(Geobacter)和梭菌(Clostridiales)是富集到的主要微生物群落;乙酸为电子供体时,富集到的主要微生物群落还包括红环菌(Rhodocyclaceae);因此,除地杆菌外,梭菌和红环菌很可能也是水稻土中重要的铁还原菌.  相似文献

The toxic conditions of Oxisol soils attributed to oranging symptoms of rice grown in the Sitiung Transmigration area, Sumatra, Indonesia were evaluated in the laboratory. Changes of pH and Eh of flooded soils, and concentrations of nutrients in the soils and in the rice plants were measured. The soils were clayey, kaolinitic, isohyperthermic, Typic Haplorthox. It was found that Eh of the soils sharply decreased from an average value of +460 ± 150 mV to –217 ± 15 mV following 60 days of flooding (DF). During the same period of flooding, soil pH increased from an average value of 5.2 ± 0.6 to 6.6 ± 0.2. Concentrations of NaOAc extractable Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, Mo, Ca, Mg, P, and K, but not Al, increased markedly whereas their water-soluble form, except Fe, decreased slightly following 60 DF. Leaf tissue analyses indicated that 13, 51 and 58% of the rice plant samples contained potentially toxic level of Mn, Fe and Al, respectively, as their contents were higher than the assumed threshold toxicity levels of 2500, 300, and 300 mg kg–1. Thirteen, 16, 2, and 3% of the leaf tissue also contained potentially deficient levels of P, K, Ca, and Mg, respectively. The oranging symptom in the rice leaf tissue appeared to be due to indirect toxicity of Fe, Mn, and Al, i.e., Fe-induced, Mn-induced, and Al-induced deficiency of P, K, Ca and Mg. As a result of the relatively high concentrations of NaOAc extractable Fe, Mn, and Al in the soil solution, root growth was limited and coated with iron and manganese oxides thereby reducing the root's capacity to absorb nutrients from the soils.The work was supported by USAID Grant No. DPE-5542-G-SS-4055-00 (3.F-10).
