干燥番茄(Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. cv. Moneym aker)种子浸种吸水有明显的3 个阶段,尽管种子不同部分吸水的速度不一样,但整粒种子需10~12 h 才能基本完成第一阶段的吸水。胚乳对种胚伸长和生长的机械压力明显阻碍种胚的吸水,即使在第二阶段整个种子水势与浸种溶液基本达到水分平衡时,种胚的水势仍然低于整个种子水势0.6~0.9 MPa。发芽过程中GA 和ABA不直接影响番茄种子吸水。番茄种胚水势与含水量的关系呈幂指数的正相关。无论在浸种还是渗控处理过程中,番茄种胚压力势的总变化趋势是下降的  相似文献

Soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merrill) lectin is a seed protein that accumulates in protein bodies of cotyledons during seed development. We have constructed two expression cassettes containing the 5′ and 3′ regions of the soybean lectin gene connected by aNot I restriction site. One vector also contains the 32 amino acid signal sequence. Using polymerase chain reaction (PCR), the coding region of the β-glucuronidase (uidA) gene was inserted into theNot I site of each vector. We tested the function of the expression cassettes in transformed embryogenic cultures of soybean. Development-specific GUS expression was observed in developing somatic embryos transformed with the chimeric lectin promoter-GUS constructs as determined by histochemical assays. Our data indicate that these cassettes could be used to drive expression of foreign genes to modify embryo-specific traits of soybean as protein quality or quantity in the seed.  相似文献

Summary In order to quantify female and male fitness values of clones in a Pinus sylvestris L. seed orchard, multilocus-genotypes of parental clones were compared with those of open pollinated seeds in the bulked orchard crop. Female and male contributions to individual seeds were distinguished by observing enzyme gene loci active in both endosperm and embryo tissue. Seed probes from two successive flowering periods were surveyed. The female and male fitnesses of five parental clones measured relative to the population mean were derived. The contributions of four clones were found to be sexually asymmetric. One clone, for instance, made exclusively female contributions in one flowering period. Variations existed in fitness values between clones. Deviations in sex specificity occurred between flowering periods: one clone contributed asymmetrically in both periods, but in sexually reversed proportions. A method to comprehensively quantify and illustrate the observed phenomena is proposed.  相似文献

Abstract The germination responses of a nondormant fraction of a seed population of Taraxacum officinale Weber at constant temperatures in the range 7–34°C were analysed through a time-course study. Maximal percentage germination (approximately 90%) was attained at temperatures 10–18°C, where simple linear relationships were observed between the temperature and the germination rates, i.e. the reciprocals of the time taken to germinate by subpopulations with 20–80% germination. There was a variation in the required ‘thermal times’ (θ) which characterized the linear relationships, the distribution of which could be approximated for the seed population by the following distribution function: where m is the median of the distribution, and A is a shape parameter characterizing the pattern of the distribution. Final percentage germination decreased with increasing temperature from 20 to 32°C, where the final percentage germination vs. temperature plotted on a normal probability scale yielded a straight line, indicating the normality of the distribution of the upper limit temperature in the seed population. The estimated mean and standard deviation were 27.25 ± 3.75°C. The rate of germination for the subpopulation with 20–80% germination also decreased with increases in the temperature from 22 to 30°C. If the relationships between the temperature within this range and the rate for the subpopulations with 20–80% germination were approximated by the regression lines, the negative ‘thermal time’ characterizing the yielded linear relationship would have a distribution which could be approximated by the same function with the required thermal time for the relationship of suboptimal range. The parameters m and A for the negative ‘thermal time’ were determined to be 2870 K h and 1.7 × 10-10 K-3 h-3.  相似文献

Sink regions play a central role in determining assimilate distribution patterns. Two factors are discussed which have a strong effect on the sink strength of a sink, viz. phloem unloading and turgor-sensitive transport. Sink strength may be defined as the capacity of phloem in the sink region to import assimilates from other parts of the plants and to release the imported substances into the sink apoplast.A stem parasitized by Cuscuta represents a very strong sink. A review is presented of data on enhanced phloem unloading, at the site of attachment of Custuta. Recent data on metabolically controlled sucrose and amino acid unloading into the seed coat apoplast of developing legume seeds show a remarkable parallel with phloem unloading in a parasitized Vicia faba stem. Data on turgor-sensitive sucrose and amino acid transport into developing seeds are presented, which throw new light on the pressure flow theory of phloem transport.  相似文献

The energization of the active sucrose release from bean seed-coat halves was investigated. For this purpose, seed coat tissues adjacent to the apoplastic space were exposed to a variety of treatments and proton and photosynthate release were measured. Fusicoccin (10–5 moll–1) stimulated proton pump activities. Orthovanadate (2×10–4 moll–1) and abscisic acid (10–5 moll–1) diminished the proton extrusion evoked by fusicoccin. Fusicoccin inhibited sucrose release, whereas orthovanadate and abscisic acid stimulated it. Addition of 100 mmoll–1 K+ had a promotory effect on photosynthate unloading, fading away with time. This extra unloading was linearly related to an enhanced proton loss. It was concluded that the photosynthate unloading apparently is not a proton/sucrose antiport and that a pump-leak system for photosynthate release is unlikely. Dispersal of adult Viburnum whitefly,Aleurotrachelus jelinekii (Frauenf.) was assessed over a period of 6 years, both in the field and in the laboratory. Flight activity did not appear to be strongly affected by normal variation in either temperature or windspeed. The aerial density of flying adults decreased rapidly with distance from the host plant. Movement up to 5 m from the host plant was found to be density dependent, although there is no suggestion that longer flights become more frequent at higher population densities. More males were caught at the beginning of the season and the number of males flying increased as the population density rose. Insects were flight mature after about 3 h, but flew readily only after 2 days. Longer flights were observed from younger females at a time when they would move from old to young leaves. Landing site preference was not recorded, which contrasts with the behaviour of the cabbage whitefly. Flight in the Viburnum whitefly appears to redistribute the population within the immediate habitat, but migration did not appear to be a significant demographic factor in the isolated populations studied.

Résumé La dispersion des adultes d'Aleurotrachelus jelinekii Frauenf, tant dans la nature qu'au laboratoire, a été estimée sur une période de 6 ans. L'activité de vol n'a pas paru être fortement modifiée par les variations de la température et de la vitesse du vent. Le nombre d'adultes en vol a diminué rapidement jusqu'à 5 m de la plante hôte, et il était density-dependent, bien que rien ne prouve que les vols les plus longs deviennent plus fréquents à des densités de population plus élevées. Plus de mâles ont été capturés au début de la saison et le nombre de mâles en vol s'est accru avec la densité de la population. Les insectes étaient aptes au vol 3 heures après la mue imaginale, mais ne volaient normalement que 2 jours après. Les vols les plus longs ont été observés chez les plus jeunes femelles au moment où elles devaient migrer de feuilles âgées à des feuilles jeunes. Les lieux d'atterrissage préférés n'ont pas été décelés. Le vol chezA. jelinekii semble redistribuer la population dans l'habitat immédiat et la migration n'apparaît pas être un paramètre démographique significantif dans les populations isolées étudiées.

A short period (15–30 min) at 30° C promotes germination of seeds of Lactuca sativa L. cv. Repolhuda in darkness. Far-red light reverses this stimulation, and the escape curves for phytochrome and high-temperature action are quite similar, indicating that the two factors act at a common point in the chain of events leading to germination. Summary A range of drugs was applied to developing pea seed cotyledons in an attempt to perturb the intracellular transport of newly synthesized vicilin through the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi vesicles to its site of storage, the vacuole. The most pronounced effects, produced by the ionophores monensin and nigericin, were on Golgi-mediated transport. Unlike the situation in most other tissues that have been studied the number of Golgi vesicles did not increase, suggesting that their movement is not slowed or stopped. However, the Golgi-mediated transport of vicilin was redirected from the vacuole tonoplast to the plasmalemma and the newly synthesized vicilin was released from the cotyledon cells to accumulate between the plasmalemma and the cell wall.  相似文献
