The challenges for rechargeable lithium‐oxygen batteries of low practical capacity and poor round‐trip efficiency urgently demand effective cathode materials to overcome the limitations. However, the synergy between the multiple active materials is not well understood. Here, findings of the synergistic effect between electrospun zinc oxide (ZnO) nanofibers and graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) unzipped from carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as cathode materials in rechargeable lithium‐oxygen batteries are described. Furthermore, the overpotentials and discharge capacities are tuned by the surface defect states of ZnO nanofibers and Pt nanocrytals in GNRs. It is observed that the optimized zinc oxide nanofibers hybridized with GNRs achieved a high reversible capacity of 6300 mAh g‐1carbon and enhanced stable cyclability under specific 50% of full discharge capacities. This report demonstrates that the ZnO nanofibers with a high degree of defects and hydrophilicity of the surface may be a promising cathode component for rechargeable lithium‐oxygen batteries and the optimum synergy between ZnO nanofibers and GNRs can balance the discharge capacity and cycle life.  相似文献

Microstructure manipulation plays an important role in enhancing physical and mechanical properties of materials. Here a high figure of merit zT of 1.2 at 357 K for n‐type bismuth‐telluride‐based thermoelectric (TE) materials through directly hot deforming the commercial zone melted (ZM) ingots is reported. The high TE performance is attributed to a synergistic combination of reduced lattice thermal conductivity and maintained high power factor. The lattice thermal conductivity is substantially decreased by broad wavelength phonon scattering via tuning multiscale microstructures, which includes microscale grain size reduction and texture loss, nanoscale distorted regions, and atomic scale lattice distotions and point defects. The high power factor of ZM ingots is maintained by the offset between weak donor‐like effect and texture loss during the hot deformation. The resulted high zT highlights the role of multiscale microstructures in improving Bi2Te3‐based materials and demonstrates the effective strategy in enhancing TE properties.  相似文献

Background

The purpose of this study was to prospectively evaluate the efficacy and safety of remote magnetic navigation (RMN) in comparison with manual catheter navigation (MCN) in performing ventricular tachycardia ablation.

Methods

An electronic search was performed using PubMed (1948–2013) and EMBASE (1974–2013) studies comparing RMN with MCN which were published prior to 31 December 2013. Outcomes of interest were as follows: acute success, recurrence rate, complications, total procedure and fluoroscopic times. Standard mean difference (SMD) and its 95 % confidence interval (CI) were used for continuous outcomes; odds ratios (OR) were reported for dichotomous variables.

Results

Four non-randomised studies, including a total of 328 patients, were identified. RMN was deployed in 191 patients. Acute success and long-term freedom from arrhythmias were not significantly different between the RMN and control groups (OR 1.845, 95 % CI 0.731–4.659, p = 0.195 and OR 0.676, 95 % CI 0.383–1.194, p = 0.177, respectively). RMN was associated with less peri-procedural complications (OR 0.279, 95 % CI 0.092–0.843, p = 0.024). Shorter procedural and fluoroscopy times were achieved (95 % CI -0.487 to -0.035, p = 0.024 and 95 % CI -1.467 to -0.984, p<0.001, respectively).

Conclusion

The acute and long-term success rates for VT ablation are equal between RMN and MCN, whereas the RMN-guided procedure can be performed with a lower complication rate and less procedural and fluoroscopic times. More prospective randomised trials will be needed to better evaluate the superior role of RMN for catheter ablation of ventricular tachycardia.  相似文献

Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene mutations have been implicated as risk factors for neural tube defects (NTDs). The best-characterized MTHFR genetic mutation 677C→T is associated with a 2-4 fold increased risk of NTD if patient is homozygous for this mutation. This risk factor is modulated by folate levels in the body. A second mutation in the MTHFR gene is an A→C transition at position 1298. The 1298A→C mutation is also a risk factor for NTD, but with a smaller relative risk than 677C→T mutation. Under conditions of low folate intake or high folate requirements, such as pregnancy, this mutation could become of clinical importance. We present a case report with MTHFR genetic mutation, who presented with recurrent familial pregnancy losses due to anencephaly/NTDs.  相似文献

目的研究电针对老年性痴呆(AD)模型大鼠外侧隔核(LSN)乙酰胆碱酯酶(AChE)阳性神经元表达的影响。方法以D-半乳糖腹腔注射和Aβ1-40海马注射诱导形成老年性痴呆大鼠模型,电针"大椎"、"肾俞"、"太溪"三穴,以免疫组织化学法检测大鼠LSN中AChE阳性神经元的表达。结果与模型组相比,电针组AChE阳性神经元数量明显增多,具有显著统计学意义。结论电针可能通过增加大鼠LSN中AChE阳性神经元的表达,进而发挥抗老年性痴呆的作用。  相似文献

This study examines general health in the first year of life of a population of 127 subadults from the Imperial Roman necropolis of Isola Sacra (2nd-3rd century ACE). Health status was determined by analyzing 274 deciduous teeth from these children for Wilson bands (also known as accentuated striae), microscopic defects caused by a disruption to normal enamel development arising from some generalized external stressor. While macroscopic enamel defects, or hypoplasias, have long been used as proxies of general population health, we believe that this is the first population-wide study of microscopic defects in deciduous teeth. We used microstructural markers of enamel to attach very precise chronologies to Wilson band formation that allowed us to calculate maximum prevalence (MAP) and smoothed maximum prevalence (SMAP) distributions to portray what we believe to be a realistic risk profile for a past population of children. There appear to be two periods of high prevalence, the first beginning around age 2 months and continuing through month 5, and the second higher period beginning around month 6 and continuing through month 9. These results are discussed in light of historical records of Roman childhood rearing practices.  相似文献

Ventricular septal defect (VSD) accounts for the largest number of birth congenital heart defects in human, but the genetic programs that control ventricular septation are poorly understood. To identify differentially expressed genes between ventricular septal defect and normal ventricular septum myocardium, we have undertaken suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) and generated reciprocal cDNA collections of representative mRNAs specific to human heart with ventricular septal defect versus normal control. Following SSH, 1378 clones were sequenced and found to derive from 551 different genes. These predominately expressed genes included genes involved in energy metabolism, cell cycle and growth, cytoskeleton and cell adhesion, LIM protein, zinc finger protein, and development. It is anticipated that further study of genes identified will provide insights into their specific roles in the etiology of VSD, even in cardiac development, aging, and disease.  相似文献

The structure and late development of the flowers of the South‐East Asian bee‐pollinated palm Licuala peltata are described with special focus on the architecture of the unusual labyrinthine nectaries. The nectaries are derived from septal nectaries by extensive convolution of the carpel flank surfaces below the ovary throughout the inner floral base, thus also encompassing the inner surface of the corolla–androecium tube. A comparison with septal nectaries elsewhere in Arecaceae and with labyrinthine nectaries in other monocots shows that labyrinthine nectaries situated below the ovary, as described here, are not known from any other palms, but are similar to those of a few Bromeliaceae and, less strongly convoluted, some Haemodoraceae and Xanthorrhoeaceae. Linear enamel hypoplasia (LEH), a type of enamel defect reflecting nonspecific physiological stress, has traditionally been used by bioarchaeologists to assess human health. Initially, measurements of defect width were used to estimate the duration of stress episodes. More recently, methods of counting within-defect perikymata (enamel growth increments) were developed to more accurately assess duration. Because perikymata are often not continuously visible within defects, while widths can usually be measured, the primary purpose of this article was to determine if, under restrictive conditions, the widths of LEH defects might be used as relative indicators of stress episode duration. Using a set of dental replicas from the prehistoric Irene Mound (1150-1400 A.D.), this study also investigated potential sources of variation in defect widths and how often defect widths could be measured and within-defect perikymata counted. Of 120 defects, only 47 contained both measurable defect widths and total within-defect perikymata, while 79 had measurable defect widths. Regression analysis revealed that, for these 47 defects, defect widths were more strongly related to the total number of within-defect perikymata than they were to crown region or tooth type. Although wide prediction intervals indicated that a defect's width could not be used to predict the number of within-defect perikymata for an individual, narrower confidence intervals associated with hypothetical mean population widths suggested that mean defect widths might be used to rank populations in terms of relative average stress episode duration.  相似文献
