The genus Candelabrum, an aero-aquatic fungus, produces chandelier-shaped conidia that can float on the water. Seven species have been described in the genus. Our phylogenetic analysis based on the D1/D2 regions of the large subunit rDNA (LSU) revealed that the genus Candelabrum contains two separate lineages, C. spinulosum group (C. clathrosphaeroides, C. desmidiaceum, C. japonense, and C. spinulosum, the type species) nested in Leotiomycetes, and C. brocchiatum group (C. brocchiatum and C. microsporum) in Sordariomycetes. The two groups were distinctive in conidial morphology, especially for the presence/absence of the conidial basal plate. To accommodate the latter group, a new genus Brocchiosphaera is proposed along with a new species, B. bulbiformis. Furthermore, the phylogenetic tree inferred from LSU indicated that C. spinulosum group was closely related to Hyaloscypha in Helotiales, whereas Brocchiosphaera (the C. brocchiatum group) belonged to Pisorisporiales. Strains of H. occulta (NBRC 108595 and SANK 13397) clustered with C. japonense and C. clathrosphaeroides in phylogenetic tree inferred from combined sequence data of the RNA polymerase II gene, the internal transcribed spacer regions and 5.8S rDNA (ITS) and LSU, and NBRC 108595 produced conidia of C. japonense in submerging culture. Thus, H. occulta was proved to be a teleomorph of C. japonense. This finding warrants transferring all species of the C. spinulosum group (Candelabrum sensu stricto) to Hyaloscypha and proposing four new combinations H. desmidiacea, H. japonensis, H. macrospora, and H. spinulosa.  相似文献

Two gold(I) mononuclear complexes have been prepared by reacting gold(I) tetrahydrothiophene with N,N′-di(2,6-methyl)phenylformamidine. The neutral complex [N,N′-di(2,6-methyl)phenylformamidine)-gold(I) chloride (C17H20AuClN2) (1), crystallizes in the triclinic group while the cationic [N,N′-di(2,6-methyl)phenylformamidine](tetrahydrothiophene)-gold(I) (C21H28AuN2S) (2) crystallizes with a nitrate anion in the monoclinic group P2(1)/n. Both compounds are good starting materials for synthetic gold chemistry.  相似文献

River connections via artificial canals will bring about secondary contacts between previously isolated fish species. Here, we present a genetic consequence of such a secondary contact between Cobitis fish species, C. lutheri in the Dongjin River, and C. tetralineata in the Seomjin River in Korea. The construction of water canals about 80 years ago has unidirectionally introduced C. tetralineata into the native habitat of C. lutheri, and then these species have hybridized in the main stream section of the Dongjin River. According to the divergence population genetic analyses of DNA sequence data, the two species diverged about 3.3 million years ago, which is interestingly coincident with the unprecedented paleoceanographic change that caused isolations of the paleo‐river systems in northeast Asia due to sea‐level changes around the late Pliocene. Multilocus genotypic data of nine microsatellites and three nuclear loci revealed an extensively admixed structure in the hybrid zone with a high proportion of various post‐F1 hybrids. Surprisingly, pure native C. lutheri was absent in the hybrid zone in contrast to the 7% of pure C. tetralineata. Such a biased proportion must have resulted from the dominant influence of continually introducing C. tetralineata on the native C. lutheri which has no supply of natives from other tributaries to the hybrid zone due to numerous low‐head dams. In addition, mating experiments indicated that there is no discernible reproductive isolation between them. All the results suggest that the gene pool of native C. lutheri is being rapidly replaced by that of continually introducing C. tetralineata through a hybrid swarm for the last 80 years, which will ultimately lead to the genomic extinction of natives in this hybrid zone.  相似文献

Transplantation of neural stem cells for replacing neurons after neurodegeneration requires that the transplanted stem cells accurately reestablish the lost neural circuits in order to restore function. Retinal ganglion cell axons project to visual centers of the brain forming circuits in precise topographic order. In chick, dorsal retinal neurons project to ventral optic tectum, ventral neurons to dorsal tectum, anterior neurons to posterior tectum and posterior neurons to anterior tectum; forming a continuous point-to-point map of retinal cell position in the tectal projection. We found that when stem cells derived from ventral retina were implanted in dorsal host retina, the stem cells that became ganglion cells projected to dorsal tectum, appropriate for their site of origin in retina but not appropriate for their site of implant in retina. This led us to ask if retinal progenitors exhibit topographic markers of cell position in retina. Indeed, retinal neural progenitors express topographic markers: dorsal stem cells expressed more Ephrin B2 than ventral stem cells and, conversely, ventral stem cells expressed more Pax-2 and Ventroptin than dorsal stem cells. The fact that neural progenitors express topographic markers has pertinent implications in using neural stem cells in cell replacement therapy for replacing projecting neurons that express topographic order, e.g., analogous neurons of the visual, auditory, somatosensory and motor systems.  相似文献

Response of epilithic diatom assemblages to urbanization influences   总被引:2,自引:1,他引:1  
Urbanization has long been recognized to alter the hydrology, water quality and channel form of waterways. Recently, consideration of urban impacts on waterways has expanded to include assessment of the aquatic biota, generally focusing upon the macroinvertebrate fauna. This study compares the impacts of urbanization on the structure of stream benthic diatom communities in 16 first- and second-order streams in the east of Melbourne, Australia. Relationships between the physical elements of urbanization, water quality and diatom communities were examined using multivariate analyses with compositional similarity, and univariate analyses with selected diatom species and indices,. There was a strong negative correlation between urban density and the diatom indices of water quality. The element of urbanization most strongly related to the measured decline in the diatom community was drainage connection. Electrical conductivity was the most influential water quality variable. It is hypothesized that, in addition to increasing electrical conductivity, drainage connection may be impacting the diatom community by increasing the delivery of phosphorus during small storm events. The study suggests that reducing directly piped drainage connection using infiltration and retention is a logical step in the mitigation of urban impacts upon receiving streams. A corollary part of the project indicated strong potential for using overseas diatom indices in studies on water quality in southeastern Australia.  相似文献

Zooplankton in two river‐lake systems of the Paraná River (Argentina) floodplain were studied during ordinary hydrological situations as well as during an extreme flood (El Niño event) over a period of more than 20 years. The studied lakes were selected because of their position at opposite ends of a surface connectivity gradient. Los Matadores Lake, with high connectivity, has a direct connection to the river via a short channel that is active during a large part of the year. At the other extreme, the low connectivity El Tigre Lake has an indirect connection to the river through a swampy area that is only active for short periods. During ordinary hydrologic periods, zooplankton abundance and species richness appear to be controlled by the degree of connectivity of the lakes. Abundance was higher in El Tigre, which is isolated for longer periods and consequently has a longer water‐residence time. Contrary to expectations, species richness was also higher in this lake, a result that was surprising because water bodies with low conectivity/disturbance are predicted to have a lower biodiversity. Clonal growth occurring below the ground makes it difficult to identify individuals and demonstrate the demographic features of a focal plant species. In this study, genotypically identified ramets of a rhizomatous clonal herb, Convallaria keiskei Miq., were monitored for their growth, survival, and reproduction from 2003 to 2006. After the monitoring period, their subterranean organs were excavated to explore the underground connections of established ramets and the direction of clonal growth. We then combined data on the fate of the monitored ramets with the information of rhizome connections, clarifying reproductive demography at both the ramet and genet levels. Although each ramet initiated both sexual reproduction (via flowering) and clonal growth, clonal growth tended to precede sexual reproduction. In a surveyed genet, 51.0% of ramets produced flowers and 29.6% generated clonal offspring during the study period. Consequently, we clarified the reproductive demography of C. keiskei: clonal growth tended to precede flowering in a ramet, and a genet can keep reproducing every season at the genet level, despite a ramet not having inflorescence every year.  相似文献

We report the occurrence of cytomixis in wild populations of Himalayan poppy (Meconopsis aculeata Royle), which is considered to be an important and threatened medicinal plant growing in the high hills of the Himalayas. The impact of cytomixis on meiotic behaviour, reduced pollen viability and heterogeneous-sized pollen grains was also studied. Cytological studies in the seven wild populations from the high hills of Himachal Pradesh revealed that all the Himalayan populations exist uniformly at the tetraploid level (2n=56) on x=14. The phenomenon of chromatin transfer among the proximate pollen mother cells (PMCs) in six populations caused various meiotic abnormalities. Chromatin transfer also resulted in the formation of coenocytes, aneuploid, polyploid and anucleated PMCs. Among individuals that showed chromatin transfer, chromosome stickiness and interbivalent connections were frequently observed in some PMCs. The phenomenon of cytomixis in the species seems to be directly under genetic control; it affects the meiotic course considerably and results in reduced pollen viability.  相似文献

目的探讨DR全脊柱成像技术在脊柱侧弯畸形诊断及测量中的价值,研究不同检查方法对成像质量及测量精度的影响。方法利用PHIIAPS公司Digital Diagnost DR系统和具有全脊柱拼接功能的SUN后处理工作站,对分次所摄的脊柱正位、侧位、左、右侧屈位影像进行拼接处理后作必要的测量,并打印成像。结果经上述处理后的全脊柱正位、侧位及左、右侧屈位均能将颈、胸、腰、骶椎完整联接,显示在1张14+17的X光片上,其测量的数据真实可靠。结论DR全脊柱成像技术克服了以往颈、胸、腰、骶椎单独成像后测量上的误差,为临床手术提供了更精确的数据。  相似文献

用脉冲电泳对四种假丝酵母及各自的有性型,包括Candida guilliermondii—Pichia guilliermondii, Candida krusei—Issatchenkia orientalis, Candida naganishii—Debaryomyces nepalensis和Candida valida—Pichia membranaefaciens,进行了分子核型比较分析, 发现每对无性型-有性型酵母菌均具有相同或相似的染色体DNA分子带型, 而各对之间却具有显著差异,显示了脉冲电泳核型分析在寻找及确证酵母菌无性型-无性型关联中的应用价值。  相似文献
