Simian acquired immune deficiency syndrome (SAIDS) caused by the type D retrovirus SRV-1 results in opportunistic infections and a spectrum of oral lesions similar to those seen in humans with AIDS. To better understand the pathogenesis of these oral lesions we have retrospectively examined the oral mucosa from ten rhesus monkeys that died with SAIDS and prospectively examined the oral mucosa of ten additional animals inoculated with SRV-1 to determine at what time, and in what cells SRV-1 infection of the oral mucosa occurs. Using single and double label immunohistologic techniques, and electron microscopy we detected SRV-1 in clusters of oral epithelial cells and rare Langerhans cells as early as 1 month postinoculation. 相似文献

The performance of The Subhuman Primate Pregnancy Test Kit was evaluated for routine detection of early (days 19-21) pregnancy in the rhesus monkey. Out of 123 confirmed matings, 19 resulted in pregnancy. In the pregnant animals the kit had an accuracy of 73.7%. In the nonpregnant females the accuracy was higher, 88.5%. The present study was carried out to determine the detailed histological and cytological features of the excurrent ducts of
the male reproductive system in the rhesus monkey. The excurrent ducts show a regional difference in their histological features.
The use of some of these features as histological markers and their possible functional significance are discussed.
The epithelial cells in the different components of the excurrent duct system possess cytological features which suggest their

2-Fluoro-L-Histidine inhibits protein synthesis in various cell cultures, as measured by 3H-leucine incorporation. This histidine analog also inhibits the cytopathogenicity of a number of RNA and DNA viruses in primary and continuous cell cultures; it blocks the transformation of normal mouse (MO) cells by murine sarcoma virus, and partially suppresses the release of murine leukemia virus by a continuously infected mouse cell line (JLSV5). In human skin fibroblasts, it reduces the interferon-inducing capacity of poly(I)·poly(C). Precipitation is a key factor in the water cycle. At the same time, precipitation is the focus of study in meteorology and
climatology, ecological environmental assessment, non-point source pollution and so on. Understanding the temporal-spatial
variation and the corresponding factors of precipitation has become the object of hydrology and environmentology. Based on
the annual precipitation data, we analyzed the spatial distribution of precipitation in Sichuan Province in China as well
as the temporal-spatial variation and the corresponding influence factors involved. The results show that the amount of precipitation
was abundant, but the spatial distribution was not consistent with it and the amount of precipitation gradually declined from
the south-east to the north-west in Sichuan Province, China. Moreover, the spatial distribution was different throughout the
years. The result of correlation analysis indicated that elevation, temperature and air pressure were three key factors affecting
the amount and distribution of precipitation, and the correlation coefficients were −0.56, 0.38 and 0.45 respectively. Notably,
the relationship between the slope of topography and precipitation were significantly negative and the average correlation

对柏木人工纯林的渊落物有机碳和一些营养元素的分解和释放过程的研究表明,柏木凋落物中有机碳和营养元素的矿化非常缓慢,凋落物有机碳的半减期是33周,氮素矿化半减期是433周,磷矿化半减期是10周,钾矿化半减期是24周,钙矿化半减期是86周,镁矿化半减期是12周。柏木早期生长缓慢、成林困难主要是受氮素不足的制约。在林分改造和营林中适当增加阔叶速生树种,改善凋落物性质.对促进凋落物分解和养分周转、改善土壤养分状况、提高柏木人工林的生态和经济效益是很必要的。 相似文献

Membranes of adjacent cells form intercellular junctional complexes to mechanically anchor neighbour cells (anchoring junctions), to seal the paracellular space and to prevent diffusion of integral proteins within the plasma membrane (tight junctions) and to allow cell-to-cell diffusion of small ions and molecules (gap junctions). These different types of specialised plasma membrane microdomains, sharing common adaptor molecules, particularly zonula occludens proteins, frequently present intermingled relationships where the different proteins co-assemble into macromolecular complexes and their expressions are co-ordinately regulated. 2008年春季我国南方特大冰雪灾害,给受灾林区的森林生态系统及野生动物造成了巨大影响。神农架是川金丝猴分布的最东端,也是重灾区之一。该文基于灾前两年的实地调查资料,对神农架川金丝猴栖息地植物区系进行分析,以期为灾后生物多样性的检测评估及川金丝猴栖息地恢复建设提供依据。实地调查发现,川金丝猴栖息地内木本植物共有255种,隶属44科105属,其中乔木23科51属129种,灌木22科49属113种,木质藤本7科9属13种;据统计在栖息地内共有31科58属85种川金丝猴的食源植物。该区植物区系中温带分布性质的属占优势,有58个,占属数的56.30%;热带分布性质的属有22个,东亚和中国特有分布成分共有23个属,分别占属数的21.36%和22.33%;显示了该区地处亚热带与温带的过度性质。还统计了栖息地食源植物区系谱,分析了该区域食源植物特点。 相似文献
