We investigated (1) the effect of constant and altered inorganic phosphate (Pi) supply (1–100 mmol m–3) on proteoid root production by white lupin ( Lupinus albus L.); and (2) the variation in citrate efflux, enzyme activity and phosphate uptake along the proteoid root axis in solution culture. Proteoid root formation was greatest at Pi solution concentrations of 1–10 mmol m–3 and was suppressed at 25 mmol m–3 Pi and higher. Except at 1 mmol m–3 Pi, the formation of proteoid roots did not affect plant dry matter yields or shoot to root dry matter ratios, indicating that proteoid roots can form under conditions of adequate P supply and not at the expense of dry matter production. Plants with over 50% of the root system as proteoid roots had tissue P concentrations considered adequate for maximum growth, providing additional evidence that proteoid roots can form on P-sufficient plants. There was an inverse relationship between the Pi concentration in the youngest mature leaf and proteoid root formation. Citrate efflux and the activities of enzymes associated with citric acid synthesis (phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase and malate dehydrogenase) varied along the proteoid root axis, being greatest in young proteoid rootlets of the 1–3 cm region from the root tip. Citrate release from the 0–1 and 5–9 cm regions of the proteoid root was only 7% (per unit root length) of that from the 1–3 cm segment. Electrical potential and 32Pi uptake measurements showed that Pi uptake was more uniform along the proteoid root than citrate efflux.  相似文献

External and internal flavonoids were isolated from 12 Uncarina taxa (Pedaliaceae), endemic to Madagascar. Four flavone aglycones, tricetin 7,3′,5′-trimethyl ether, tricetin 7,4′,5′-trimethyl ether, 5,3′-dihydroxy-6,7,4′,5′-tetramethoxyflavone and eupatorin were isolated from leaf wax of seven Uncarina taxa, Uncarina grandidieri, Uncarina decaryi, Uncarina abbreviata, Uncarina turicana, Uncarina platycarpa, Uncarina leandrii var. leandrii and Uncarina peltata, but not Uncarina stellulifera, Uncarina perrieri, Uncarina sakalava, Uncarina leptocarpa and U. leandrii var. rechbergeri. Furthermore, eight flavonoid glycosides were isolated from the leaves. Major glycosides were apigenin and luteolin 7-O-glucuronides and occurred in all the Uncarina taxa examined, except the absence of the former compound in U. peltata. Other glycosides were identified as hispidulin, jaceosidin, chrysoeriol and tricin 7-O-glucuronides, and luteolin 7,4′-di-O-glucuronide and a flavonol, isorhamnetin 3-O-diglucoside. From the results described above, methylated flavone aglycones and glucuronides were chemical characters of the leaves of Uncarina species, and also may be those of the family Pedaliaceae. Besides, an anthocyanin, two flavonols and three flavones were isolated from the flowers of U. grandidieri, and identified as cyanidin 3-O-rutinoside (anthocyanin), quercetin and isorhamnetin 7-O-glucuronides (flavonols) and apigenin, luteolin and jaceosidin 7-O-glucuronides (flavones).  相似文献

矿物质是土壤中的重要组成成分,本实验采用动态反应和平衡反应研究氧化物矿物表面2,4-二氯苯酚(2,4-DCP)的化学行为.结果表明,无定形铁氧化物、针铁矿、α-MnO2、δ-MnO2对自然的或外源的有机化合物有较强的氧化能力,其中对2,4二氯苯酚的氧化能力是:δ-MnO2αMnO2>无定形铁氧化物、针铁矿.采用分段法估算反应系统的速率,发现氧化锰氧化2,4-二氯苯酚的反应速率是氧化铁的3~50倍,δ-MnO2氧化2,4-二氯苯酚的速率是α-MnO2的1.5~3.2倍.根系分泌物由于参与氧化物表面化学反应,对系统2,4-二氯苯酚的氧化过程产生一定影响,α-MnO2加入根系分泌物后,2,4-二氯苯酚在溶液中的消减速率明显减慢,δ-MnO2则相反,在根系分泌物共存下溶液中的2,4-二氯苯酚的转化率增加.Cu复合共存可能影响2,4二氯苯酚在矿物表面的键合氧化过程,其中δ-MnO2对铜吸附能力大于αMnO2,Cu复合共存对δMnO2表面2,4-二氯苯酚的氧化影响较大.  相似文献

Leys, used for grazing or production of forage to be conserved as silage or hay, are very important crops in northern areas. In order to measure the N2 fixation in leys of varying ages and during different parts of the season, detailed measurements were taken of yield, N2 fixation and the amounts of N remaining in the field after harvesting red clover (Trifolium pratense L.)-grass leys at a site in northern Sweden, where they are generally harvested twice per growing season. Entire plants, including stubble and roots, were sampled at the time of first and second harvest and, in addition, at the end of the growing season in three neighbouring fields, carrying a first, a second and a third year ley, respectively. N2 fixation was measured by both 15N isotope dilution (ID) and 15N natural abundance (NA) methods. The proportion of clover dry matter (DM) in the stands increased from the first to the second harvest, but the grasses dominated throughout the entire season, especially below ground. The N concentrations, in both herbage and whole plants, were about twice as high in the clover as in the grasses. Seasonal variations in N concentrations were minor, and total N contents followed the same trends as DM. The clover acquired nearly all of its N from N2 fixation: the proportion of N in clover herbage derived from N2 fixation was often >0.8 throughout the season. The variations in the amounts of N2 fixed during the course of the season corresponded well to the seasonal changes in clover biomass. Amounts of fixed N2 allocated to clover herbage during the whole season were in the range 4 to 6 g N m−2 in this unusually rainy year. Calculations of daily N allocation rates to herbage showed that N uptake rates were similar, and high, in grasses during May–June and July–August, while N2 fixation rates in clover were about 10-fold as high in July–August as in May–June, reflecting the need for N in clover growth. The proportion of N remaining in clover stubble and roots after the first and second harvests was about 60 and 25%, respectively, while about 60% of the N in grasses remained in stubble and roots after both harvests. The considerable amounts of biomass and N that were left in field after harvesting red clover-grass leys are important for re-growth of the plants and provide substantial N fertilization for the next crop in the crop rotation.  相似文献

In order to investigate if Al resistance in Norway spruce (Picea abies[L.] Karst.) can be attributed to similar exclusion mechanisms as they occur in several crop plants, three-year-old Norway spruce plants were treated for one week in hydroculture with either 500 μM AlCl3 or CaCl2 solutions at pH 4. Sequential root extraction with 1 M NH4Cl and 0.01 M HCl and EDX microanalysis revealed that Al and Ca in cell walls and on the surface participated in exchange processes. About half of the Al extracted by the sequential extraction was not exchangeable by 1 M NH4Cl. Phenolics and phosphate present in the root extracts are possible ligands for Al adsorbed to or precipitated at the root in a non-exchangeable form. In both treatments, C release during the first period of 2 d was much higher than during the remaining time of the experiment. Al treated plants released less total C, carbohydrates and phenolics than did Ca treated plants. Acetate was the only organic acid anion that could be detected in some samples of both treatments. Free amino acids were present at micromolar concentrations but as hydrolysis did not increase their yield, there was no evidence of peptide release. One to two thirds of the released C were large enough not to pass a 1 kDa ultrafilter. The results suggest that exudation of soluble organic complexors is not a major Al tolerance mechanism in Norway spruce, although complexation of Al by phenolic substances released by the root could be detected by fluorescence spectroscopy. Aluminium tolerance could rather be attributed to immobilization in the root apoplast, where strong binding sites are available or precipitation may occur. A sensitive bioassay was developed to provide a way to detect chemical signals from host plants which induce changes in hyphal growth patterns of germinated spores of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi. The assay can be used to test host root exudates, as well as particulate fractions (root cap border cells and root mucilage), for their ability to affect AM fungal growth. Hyphal branching, induced by various host root components, can be detected as early as 4 h although results of the bioassay were usually determined after 16 to 24 h. The type of branching pattern observed was dose-dependent.  相似文献

水稻化感品种能从根系分泌释放化感作用物质 ,长期以来 ,酚酸类物质被认为是水稻根分泌的主要化感物质 ,但这一结论常常被质疑。利用连续循环和直接树脂吸收两种方法采集典型的水稻化感品种 PI31 2 777幼苗的根分泌物 ,并用液相色谱 /质谱(L C/ MS)联用技术鉴定了根分泌物中的非酚酸类物质。结果显示 ,水稻 PI31 2 777幼苗根系能分泌释放 7-甲氧基羟基肟酸、羟基肟酸、3-异丙基 - 5 -乙酰氧基环己烯酮 - 1、5 ,7,4′-三羟基 - 3′,5′-二甲氧基黄酮、二萜内酯 A和二萜内酯 B6个非酚酸类化合物。经液相色谱 (HPL C)定量分析 ,这些化合物在水稻生长 1 0 d的根分泌物中的浓度为 5~ 1 9μmol/ L。进一步的生测结果显示 ,这些化合物在其释放的浓度范围能对稻田常见的稗草和异型莎草有抑制活性 ,尤其是这些化合物的等摩尔混合物的抑草活性增加 ,同时水稻根分泌物的抑草活性与土壤载体显著相关。表明羟基肟酸、环己烯酮、黄酮和二萜内酯四类非酚酸类物质是水稻的主要化感物质 ,这与近期愈来愈多的研究结果一致  相似文献

Vegetation and its associated microorganisms play an important role in the behaviour of soil contaminants. One of the most important elements is root exudation, since it can affect the mobility, and therefore, the bioavailability of soil contaminants. In this study, we evaluated the influence of root exudates on the mobility of fuel derived compounds in contaminated soils. Samples of humic acid, montmorillonite, and an A horizon from an alumi-umbric Cambisol were contaminated with volatile contaminants present in fuel: oxygenates (MTBE and ETBE) and monoaromatic compounds (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene). Natural root exudates obtained from Holcus lanatus and Cytisus striatus and ten artificial exudates (components frequently found in natural exudates) were added to the samples, individually and as a mixture, to evaluate their effects on contaminant mobility. Fuel compounds were analyzed by headspace-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. In general, the addition of natural and artificial exudates increased the mobility of all contaminants in humic acid. In A horizon and montmorillonite, natural or artificial exudates (as a mixture) decreased the contaminant mobility. However, artificial exudates individually had different effects: carboxylic components increased and phenolic components decreased the contaminant mobility. These results established a base for developing and improving phytoremediation processes of fuel-contaminated soils.  相似文献

Root–soil interactions can strongly influence the soil solution chemistry in the rhizosphere. In the present study we propose a modification of the classical rhizobox/micro suction cup system to make it suitable for the collection and analysis of organic acids in the rhizosphere. In order to show the potential of the method, we tested the modified system with Lupinus albus L. as a model plant known to exude large amounts of citrate. The suction cups were installed through the transparent front plate of the rhizoboxes just after the emergence of cluster roots in order to allow optimal localized collection of soil solution. A small dead-volume allowed almost immediate stabilisation with formaldehyde of the sampled soil solutions in the collection container to prevent microbial degradation. The concentrations of organic acids were significantly larger in the rhizosphere soil solution of active cluster roots of Lupinus albus L. than in the bulk soil solution (about 400 μM of citrate versus <0.05 μM). We were able to follow the exudation process in-situ, which occurred during 2–3 days. Also the concentrations of other organic acids and inorganic anions differed between the bulk soil and the rhizosphere of cluster roots, normal roots, and nodules.  相似文献

以4个不同烤烟品种为研究材料,采用盆栽试验,运用高效毛细管区带电泳法测定各品种根际土、非根际土、根系及叶片中的单糖组分及含量,并分析其相关关系,探究根系分泌物中糖类的分泌特性。结果表明:在各样品中,共检出木糖、葡萄糖、半乳糖、核糖、阿拉伯糖和鼠李糖6种糖;不同品种根际土、非根际土、根系及叶片中检出的糖组分及含量均存在差异;同一品种中,叶片最高,根系次之,根际土和非根际土最低;相关性分析表明,木糖、阿拉伯糖、葡萄糖、鼠李糖和半乳糖总量在根际土、非根际土、叶片和根系间呈正相关关系,各单糖组分间均呈正相关关系,部分组分呈显著或极显著相关关系。研究表明,不同烤烟品种根系分泌这些单糖存在品种差异,且根系分泌单糖可能是一个沿浓度梯度的扩散过程。  相似文献
