Rib fracture is one of the most common thoracic injuries in vehicle traffic accidents that can result in fatalities associated with seriously injured internal organs. A failure model is critical when modelling rib fracture to predict such injuries. Different rib failure models have been proposed in prediction of thorax injuries. However, the biofidelity of the fracture failure models when varying the loading conditions and the effects of a rib fracture failure model on prediction of thoracic injuries have been studied only to a limited extent. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effects of three rib failure models on prediction of thoracic injuries using a previously validated finite element model of the human thorax. The performance and biofidelity of each rib failure model were first evaluated by modelling rib responses to different loading conditions in two experimental configurations: (1) the three-point bending on the specimen taken from rib and (2) the anterior–posterior dynamic loading to an entire bony part of the rib. Furthermore, the simulation of the rib failure behaviour in the frontal impact to an entire thorax was conducted at varying velocities and the effects of the failure models were analysed with respect to the severity of rib cage damages. Simulation results demonstrated that the responses of the thorax model are similar to the general trends of the rib fracture responses reported in the experimental literature. However, they also indicated that the accuracy of the rib fracture prediction using a given failure model varies for different loading conditions.  相似文献

OpenSim offers a valuable approach to investigating otherwise difficult to assess yet important biomechanical parameters such as joint reaction forces. Although the range of available models in the public repository is continually increasing, there currently exists no OpenSim model for the computation of intervertebral joint reactions during flexion and lifting tasks. The current work combines and improves elements of existing models to develop an enhanced model of the upper body and lumbar spine. Models of the upper body with extremities, neck and head were combined with an improved version of a lumbar spine from the model repository. Translational motion was enabled for each lumbar vertebrae with six controllable degrees of freedom. Motion segment stiffness was implemented at lumbar levels and mass properties were assigned throughout the model. Moreover, body coordinate frames of the spine were modified to allow straightforward variation of sagittal alignment and to simplify interpretation of results. Evaluation of model predictions for level L1–L2, L3–L4 and L4–L5 in various postures of forward flexion and moderate lifting (8 kg) revealed an agreement within 10% to experimental studies and model-based computational analyses. However, in an extended posture or during lifting of heavier loads (20 kg), computed joint reactions differed substantially from reported in vivo measures using instrumented implants. We conclude that agreement between the model and available experimental data was good in view of limitations of both the model and the validation datasets. The presented model is useful in that it permits computation of realistic lumbar spine joint reaction forces during flexion and moderate lifting tasks. The model and corresponding documentation are now available in the online OpenSim repository.  相似文献

A simple pulse-based method for the determination of the maximum uptake capacities for glucose and oxygen in glucose limited cultivations of E. coli is presented. The method does not depend on the time-consuming analysis of glucose or acetate, and therefore can be used to control the feed rate in glucose limited cultivations, such as fed-batch processes. The application of this method in fed-batch processes of E. coli showed that the uptake capacity for neither glucose nor oxygen is a constant parameter, as often is assumed in fed-batch models. The glucose uptake capacity decreased significantly when the specific growth rate decreased below 0.15 h(-1) and fell to about 0.6 mmol g(-1) h(-1) (mmol per g cell dry weight and hour) at the end of fed-batch fermentations, where specific growth rate was approximately 0.02 h(-1). The oxygen uptake capacity started to decrease somewhat earlier when specific growth rate declined below 0.25 h(-1) and was 5 mmol g(-1) h(-1) at the end of the fermentations. The behavior of both uptake systems is integrated in a dynamic model which allows a better fitting of experimental values for glucose in fed-batch processes in comparison to generally used unstructured kinetic models.  相似文献

We develop a new class of models, dynamic conditionally linear mixed models, for longitudinal data by decomposing the within-subject covariance matrix using a special Cholesky decomposition. Here 'dynamic' means using past responses as covariates and 'conditional linearity' means that parameters entering the model linearly may be random, but nonlinear parameters are nonrandom. This setup offers several advantages and is surprisingly similar to models obtained from the first-order linearization method applied to nonlinear mixed models. First, it allows for flexible and computationally tractable models that include a wide array of covariance structures; these structures may depend on covariates and hence may differ across subjects. This class of models includes, e.g., all standard linear mixed models, antedependence models, and Vonesh-Carter models. Second, it guarantees the fitted marginal covariance matrix of the data is positive definite. We develop methods for Bayesian inference and motivate the usefulness of these models using a series of longitudinal depression studies for which the features of these new models are well suited.  相似文献

为阐明裸子植物对陆生生境生态响应的分子机制,以新近的裸子植物分类系统为指导,基于psb A基因编码全序列对4亚纲53种代表植物进行分子进化分析。首先,依据"放松分子钟"模型重建裸子植物在时间尺度下系统发育关系;其次,采用6个模型(MEC/JTT、MEC/cp REV、M5、M7、M8、M8a)估测氨基酸位点ω值,并对各模型结果进行统计检测;随后,利用Bootstrap方法检PSBA蛋白内部氨基酸位点的共进化动态。结果表明,系统树提示的物种分化历程支持前期分类结果;光合系统反应中心核心PSBA蛋白有3个氨基酸位点(13、19和243)曾经受正选择压力;PSBA蛋白内部有多对氨基酸位点间构成了共进化网络。因此,psb A基因编码序列具有作为描绘裸子植物系统发育关系标记的潜力,PSBA蛋白部分位点经历了适应性进化,通过位点间共进化网络协同作用方式辅助裸子植物响应陆生生境。  相似文献

应用AmpFLSTR~Y-filer~(TM)PCR Amplification Kit荧光标记复合扩增试剂盒(ABI公司),对曲阜地区11 18名孔姓男性个体血样DNA进行PCR,扩增,统计分析17个Y-STR基因座的遗传学参数。实验结果显示,17个基因座除DYS385a/b基因座检出51个单倍型外,其余基因座上分别检出4~11种等位基因,等位基因频率分布在0.0009~0.8265之间。由17个基因座组成的YH单倍型系统共检出206种单倍型。根据Y-STR单倍型推断了Y-SNP单倍群,发现曲阜孔姓有3种高频单倍群:C3、Q1a1和O3,前两者有着明显的单祖先扩散结构,最可能是孔子类型。本实验通过对曲阜地区孔姓人群群体17个Y染色体短串联重复序列基因座遗传多态性的调查,记录、保存孔姓人群遗传学数据。  相似文献

We present a method for parameter estimation in a two-compartment hidden Markov model of the first two stages of hematopoiesis. Hematopoiesis is the specialization of stem cells into mature blood cells. As stem cells are not distinguishable in bone marrow, little is known about their behavior, although it is known that they have the ability to self-renew or to differentiate to more specialized (progenitor) cells. We observe progenitor cells in samples of bone marrow taken from hybrid cats whose cells contain a natural binary marker. With data consisting of the changing proportions of this binary marker over time from several cats, estimates for stem cell self-renewal and differentiation parameters are obtained using an estimating equations approach.  相似文献

通过分析不同施氮水平下棉花地上部干物质积累量与冠层光谱反射率及其衍生的比值植被指数(RVI)、归一化植被指数(NDVI)及差值植被指数(DVI)之间的关系,确立了棉花地上部干物质积累量的敏感波段及预测模型.结果表明:两个可见光波段(560和710 nm)和5个近红外波段(810、870、950、1 100和1 220 nm)组成的植被指数与棉花地上部干物质积累量的相关性较好,其中RVI(1 100, 560)的相关性最好.通过逐步回归分析确立的棉花地上部干物质积累量的预测模型为:地上部干物质积累量(g·m-2)=66.274×RVI(1 100, 560)-148.84.说明通过遥感手段估测棉花地上部干物质积累量是可行的.  相似文献
