Microhabitat diversity and associated macroinvertebrates in aquatic banks of a large European river 总被引:4,自引:3,他引:1
Microhabitats and associated macroinvertebrate communities in aquatic banks of the Upper Rhône River (upstream from Lyon, France) were studied during the autumn of 1985, under low flow conditions. Based on a regular sampling design (one site every 500 m) along 70 km of riverbank, 18 microhabitat types were identified. Mineral microhabitats (from boulders to clay) accounted for 70%; the remainder corresponded chiefly to the microhabitats of aerial or semi-aerial submerged vegetation (27%) and aquatic vegetation (less than 2%). Using various methods, 239 faunistic samples of microhabitat types resulted in the collection of nearly 64 000 organisms representing 133 taxa. A correspondence analysis showed that most of the 18 microhabitat types were on average well characterized by a specific macrofauna. Microhabitats of aquatic vegetation (hydrophytes and algae) contained the richest fauna in terms of both mean specific richness (15.0 and 13.2 per sample, respectively) and mean density (73 125 and 59 475 ind. m?2, respectively). By contrast, mineral microhabitats were faunistically poorer (mean specific richness per sample <6.0, except cobbles; and mean density ≤10405 ind. m?2). The fewest species and lowest density occurred in clay, silt and sand. Estimated mean density of macroinvertebrates in the aquatic banks of the Upper Rhône River was approximately 16 000 ind. m?2. This was four times higher than in deeper sections of the channel at the same season. The aquatic banks of this large European river, with its great diversity of microhabitats, must be taken into account in all macroinvertebrate studies of fluvial systems. 相似文献

The effects of central administration of galanin, neuropeptide Y (NPY), β-casomorphin(1–7) and corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH) on intake of either a high-fat or low-fat diet have been compared in two strains of rat, the dietary fat-sensitive Osborne-Mendel (OM) rat and the dietary fat-resistant S5B/Pl rat. Injection of galanin (0.1, 0.3 nmoles) into the 3rd cerebral ventricle stimulated the intake of both a high-fat and a low-fat diet in OM rats in a dose dependent manner but the response was significantly smaller in rats fed the low-fat diet. In S5B/Pl rats, galanin had a small stimulatory effect on food intake but only at a high dose (2 nmole). β-casomor-phin(1–7) (5 nmoles), an opioid-like peptide, increased the intake of the high-fat but not the low-fat diet in OM rats, whereas S5B/Pl rats fed either a high-fat or a low-fat diet did not respond to β-caso-morphin/j.yy Both strains showed a similar stimulatory response to NPY (0.1, 0.5 nmoles) on the intake of the high-fat or the low-fat diet, but the magnitude of the response was attenuated in S5B/Pl rats. In contrast, the anorectic effects of CRH (0.26 nmoles) on food deprived animals was similar in both strains for both diets. We speculate that the regulatory system controlling the intake of fat activated by galanin and β-casomorphin(1–7) may be defective in S5B/Pl rats. 相似文献

Exogenous phospholipase C induces in human neutrophils the activation of a respiratory burst, measured as O2 consumption and O2? production and of secretion of specific granules, measured as release of vitamin B-12 binding protein. The secretory response is minimal and follows the onset of the respiratory response. Studies carried out using cells prelabeled with |3H|glycerol and32P on the molecular mechanism of the stimulations demonstrate that the effects are dependent on the formation of diacylglycerol by hydrolysis of different classes of glycerophospholipids. They are, however, independent of the activation of a ‘phosphoinositide turnover’ as occurs in cells stimulated with fMet-Leu-Phe. Furthermore, the respiratory and secretory responses to exogenous phospholipase C are not associated with moditications of cytosolic Ca2+ concentration measured with the Quin-2 method, and the release of bound Ca2+, measured with the membrane probe, chlorotetracycline. Apart from a quantitative difference, mostly regarding the ratio of the intensity of the respiratory and secretory responses, the effects caused by exogenous phospholipase C are qualitative;y similar to those induced by phorbol myristate acetate and are probably linked to an involvement of protein kinase C, activated by diacylglycerol liberated in the plasma membrane. 相似文献

The Quincy Diatomite, central Washington, USA, is a middle Miocene (∼ 15 Ma) lacustrine deposit located between flows of the Columbia River Basalt Group. Two primary localities along the western margin of the deposit are examined for stratigraphic and geographic variation. Three lithologic units are recognized in the deposit and are distinguished by distinct diatom floras and subtle lithologic differences. Diatom assemblages vary geographically along the western margin of the basin. Distinctions between these assemblages are confirmed through analysis of point count data using nonMetric Multidimensional Scaling and cluster analyses. Three stages of lake development, directly influenced by the regional geology and geography, are recognized. The earliest stage was likely deposited in a series of small-interconnected pocket lakes that were eutrophic and slightly alkaline. This lake stage was succeeded by a period of shallower water depth, and dominated by benthic species. The latest stage of the lake is interpreted as representing a deepening and expansion of the lake, based on the dominance of planktonic diatom species. Tectonic uplift of the western Frenchman Hills Anticline combined with overall subsidence of the Quincy Basin during intermediate and late stages of lake development is interpreted to be the driver for relative changes in lake bathymetry. 相似文献

The Ulantatal area is well-known for its extraordinarily rich Oligocene mammalian fossils. The Ulantatal fauna was originally considered to be the representative fauna for the Chinese Land mammalian Age, Ulantatalian. However, the abundant fossils collected in the 1980s lack coordinates and/or detailed stratigraphic levels, and have been lumped together as either single, coeval fauna or grouped into three units. This lack of stratigraphic information hampers more precise biostratigraphic division and correlation of the faunas. Here we present a complete lithostratigraphic profile of the Ulantatal Formation with new fossil localities calibrated into the profile. Lithologically, the sequence shows a rather uniform pattern characterized by interbedded reddish to yellowish brown claystones and siltstones, with minor fine-grained sandstones. Preliminary biostratigraphic analysis shows that the Ulantatal Formation covers most of the Oligocene, and offers a long sequence and successive fossil records for understanding the evolution of mammal faunas after the critical Eocene/Oligocene transition. 相似文献

In this paper we analyze the rodent assemblage from the Early Pleistocene site of Gruta1 (Quibas karstic complex, Murcia, SE Spain), providing taphonomic comments and paleoecological and paleoclimatic data. The studied assemblage includes 209 identified rodent teeth corresponding to at least four taxa. The karstic source of the site and the low presence of digested remains suggest that the accumulation is scatological in origin, with the influence of predators such as owls; the accumulation also shows certain evidence of slight hydrodynamic sorting. For the area around Quibas/Gruta1 the paleoecological study indicates a predominance of rocky areas (31.7%), forested environments (31.7%) and open dry meadows or shrublands (29.7%), which would indicate a mosaic forest environment, and to a lesser extent the presence of open humid land (5.4%) and areas along streams or ponds (1.5%). The distribution of the bioclimatic spectra yields the highest percentage for a Mediterranean climate (37.5%), while the climatic parameters calculated (MAT = 15 °C, MTW = 25.7 °C, MTC = 4.3 °C, MAP = 390 mm) suggest colder and slightly more humid conditions than today at the time of the deposition of the remains. The data also point to a relative decrease in temperature within the phase in which the site was produced, which possibly occurred during a relative cold period between MIS 36 and MIS 40 according to the age. 相似文献

曲线纷夜蛾Polydesma boarmoides Guenée是我国桉树食叶害虫,已在部分桉树种植区造成严重危害。国内外仅在区域昆虫种类调查中发现并提及该虫,而未见其生物学特性、生态学特性和发生规律等方面的相关研究报道,因此,有必要对该虫进行更系统、深入的研究,为防控该虫提供依据。笔者2013年5月首次发现该虫在广东省紫金县危害桉树林,2016年5月再次发现该虫在茂名市危害桉树林。调查、研究结果表明:(1)曲线纷夜蛾起始取食灌木叶片直至叶片被取食殆尽后,逐步转移至桉树林继续取食桉树叶片;(2)曲线纷夜蛾在广东地区1年发生4代;(3)曲线纷夜蛾3-5龄幼虫在桉树林间呈现聚集分布,且聚集密度呈现随种群密度增大而增大的规律,而在桉树树冠上则呈均匀分布。 相似文献
