尾矿废弃地是一种极端的生态系统,其植被恢复的研究将丰富传统的生态学理论。该研究通过野外植被调查与室内萌发实验相结合的方法,探讨了兰坪铅锌矿区植被恢复初期不同群落类型地上植被、土壤种子库及其相互关系。结果显示:(1)与对照群落(云南松林、高山栎灌丛)相比,尾矿区恢复期各群落(早熟禾人工草地、魁蒿群落、马桑灌丛)地上植被及土壤种子库的物种数、物种多样性均较低。(2)植被恢复时间较短的2个群落(魁蒿群落、人工草地)土壤种子库较地上植被物种多样性高。(3)尾矿区恢复期各群落地上植被及土壤种子库的优势种均主要由风播、种子繁殖的植物组成,菊科、禾本科占较大比例,这些植物在尾矿区植被恢复初期起重要作用。(4)尾矿区恢复期各群落土壤种子库与地上植被的物种相似性较高,各群落之间地上植被及土壤种子库的相似性则较低。研究表明,尾矿区恢复初期土壤种子库与地上植被紧密联系,群落改造方式、恢复时间对土壤种子库具有重要影响。  相似文献

Background

Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) is a technique traditionally used to study thermally induced macromolecular transitions, and it has recently been proposed as a novel approach for diagnosis and monitoring of several diseases. We report a pilot study applying Thermal Liquid Biopsy (TLB, DSC thermograms of plasma samples) as a new clinical approach for diagnostic assessment of melanoma patients.

Methods

Multiparametric analysis of DSC thermograms of patient plasma samples collected during treatment and surveillance (63 samples from 10 patients) were compared with clinical and diagnostic imaging assessment to determine the utility of thermograms for diagnostic assessment in melanoma. Nine of the ten patients were stage 2 or 3 melanoma subjects receiving adjuvant therapy after surgical resection of their melanomas. The other patient had unresectable stage 4 melanoma and was treated with immunotherapy. Two reference groups were used: (A) 36 healthy subjects and (B) 13 samples from 8 melanoma patients who had completed successful surgical management of their disease and were determined by continued clinical assessment to have no evidence of disease.

Results

Plasma thermogram analysis applied to melanoma patients generally agrees with clinical evaluation determined by physical assessment or diagnostic imaging (~80% agreement). No false negatives were obtained from DSC thermograms. Importantly, this methodology was able to detect changes in disease status before it was identified clinically.

Conclusions

Thermal Liquid Biopsy could be used in combination with current clinical assessment for the earlier detection of melanoma recurrence and metastasis.

General significance

TLB offers advantages over current diagnostic techniques (PET/CT imaging), limited in frequency by radiation burden and expense, in providing a minimally-invasive, low-risk, low-cost clinical test for more frequent personalized patient monitoring to assess recurrence and facilitate clinical decision-making.  相似文献

As we have argued previously, for the valid derivation of general area cladograms in vicariance biogeography, two requirements should be met. First, sets of area cladograms derived under assumptions 0, 1 and 2 should be inclusive (requirement I). Second, general area cladograms should be based on area cladograms, for different monophyletic groups, derived under the same assumption (requirement II). We now assess for their actual implementation of assumptions A0, A1, and A2 and for the extent to which they meet requirements I and II, the following methods (and correlated computer programs): Component Compatibility Analysis (CAFCA), Brooks Parsimony Analysis (PAUP), Component Analysis (Component 1.5), Reconciled Tree Analysis (Component 2.0), and Three Area Statement Analysis (TAS). For this purpose we use empirical ( Heterandria, Xiphophorus, Cyttaria, Eriococcus/Madarococcus ) and theoretical data sets. All programs appear to violate, to a different degree, requirement I (deriving inclusive sets of area cladograms under assumptions) when dealing with sympatric taxa under A1 or A2. Dealing with sympatric taxa a posteriori only prevents this violation. All programs examined appear to meet requirement II (deriving general area cladograms under a single assumption).  相似文献

韭菜迟眼蕈蚊Bradysia odoriphaga Yang et Zhang在湖北江汉平原韭菜集中产区危害严重。在湖北荆州地区于2013-2014年对韭菜迟眼蕈蚊的田间种群动态进行了系统调查,发现该害虫一年发生春(3月中旬至5月上旬)、秋(9月中旬至翌年1月)2个危害高峰,但秋季危害高峰的危害期长且发生严重;夏季适温多雨导致韭蛆危害;幼虫最喜栖息和危害韭菜第一球茎,但秋季对白色茎的危害性增加;成虫可以在田间扩散,扩散时飞行高度主要在50 cm以上。因此,韭蛆在江汉平原地区韭菜的危害主要集中在秋季和冬初。  相似文献

In the northern coast of Spain there are rivers with Atlantic salmon populations. In the upper reaches of one of these streams, river Pas, the effectiveness of habitat enhancement measures was evaluated, under different instream flow conditions. By means of the Instream Flow Incremental Methodology and using a two dimensional hydraulic model (River2D, Steffler P (2000) Software River2D. Two Dimensional Depth Averaged Finite Element Hydrodynamic Model. University of Alberta, Canada), the potential value of stream habitat for different salmon development stages requirements was measured by Weighted Useable Area (WUA). This habitat evaluation was carried out for the unmodified stream reach, which represent the control or natural conditions. Habitat improvement measures (alternate deflectors and low dams) were simulated in the original riverbed topography. Over this modified base, habitat was estimated running River2D again. By comparing the salmon habitat evaluations in the control conditions with those obtained under those improvement conditions we have been able to assess the effectiveness of each one, and the instream flow environment at which maximum improvement is reached. The maximum habitat improvement was obtained around 10 m3/s for the adult salmon, and for the fry and parr it was around 6 m3/s. However, the habitat simulation results show that with both improvement measures, under a natural flow regime the mean annual habitat increases around 1% of the WUA in relation to the control conditions, which is not a significant improvement. A similar small WUA increase was obtained when changing the bed topography, considering geomorphological adjustments due to the new erosion and sedimentation areas caused by the presence of these structures. Therefore, these types of habitat improvement measures are not recommended in these stream reaches.  相似文献

The Hawaiian Islands support a speciose radiation of native Mecyclothorax beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae). This lineage has undergone a classical island radiation resulting in extensive ecological specialization, flight-wing loss, and 100% single-island endemism. We report on the sympatric occurrence of several Mecyclothorax species endemic to Haleakala volcano, East Maui with the newly arrived, adventive Trechus obtusus (Coleoptera: Carabidae), a tramp species originally from Europe. Arrival of T. obtusus in afforested, non-native gymnosperm plantation forest near Polipoli, Maui was associated with subsequent decreased abundance of native Mecyclothorax beetles. Since discovery of T. obtusus on Haleakala, their populations have been transformed through subsequent increase in frequency of brachypterous individuals. Consequences of this transformation to flight-wing dimorphic populations may simultaneously include enhanced reproductive capacity of brachypterous individuals, increased local adaptation of populations, and enhanced metapopulational dynamics ultimately permitting range expansion and occupation far beyond anything observed for the monomorphically brachypterous native Mecyclothorax. Trechus obtusus and several Mecyclothorax species occur sympatrically with Argentine ant, Linepithema humile (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) in subalpine shrublands on Haleakala. Recent sampling corroborates earlier findings that localized presence of Argentine ant is associated with significantly decreased abundance of native Mecyclothorax. Conversely, abundance of the continental T. obtusus is not significantly affected by ant presence.  相似文献

Question: How is pattern detected and spatial scale defined in a manner that is meaningful to management? Location: Protected areas to the west of the Kruger National Park, South Africa. Methods: A Two‐Way Indicator Species Analysis (TWIN‐SPAN) based on composition and structure was applied to woody survey data. The resulting TWINSPAN classes for individual monitoring sites were used in a supervised classification of Landsat ETM+ imagery across the study area. The training sample's co‐ordinates were fed into a GIS and the resulting TWINSPAN point‐feature shape file was processed using a 1 km theme‐buffer function. Results: The supervised classification using the theme‐buffer signatures yielded a satisfactory overall accuracy (κ= 0.75; r2= 0.80; p= 0.05) using a test sample compiled by reserve wardens throughout the study area. The derived vegetation map was smoothed using a majority filter and after on‐screen digitizing a small gabbro intrusion, it was accepted as the best representation of the woody vegetation of the study area at a scale of 1:250 000. Seven plant communities were identified in the current study and satisfactorily accommodated within various topographical units of four extrapolated Landscapes of the Kruger National Park. Conclusions: Vegetation patterns are described of the areas under conservation management to the west of the KNP at a spatial scale that allows for the meaningful examination and comparison of the structure, functioning, and ultimately effective management, of these savannas. This contribution thus links to the co‐ordinated effort extending into the Trans‐Frontier National Park in Mocambique. A key objective is to better understand the functioning of these savanna systems for effective management and we discuss some of the key ecological issues within the plant communities of each landscape. The latter illustrate the usefulness of the technique in practice.  相似文献

For cell and molecular biological studies of heart formation and function cell cultures of embryonal, neonatal or adult hearts of various vertebrates, notably rat and chicken, have been widely used. As the myocardium-specific cell-cell junctions, the intercalated disks (ID), have recently been found to be particularly sensitive to losses of - or mutations in - certain cytoskeletal proteins, resulting in cardiac damages, we have examined the ID organization in primary cultures of cardiomyocytes obtained from neonatal rats. Using immunofluorescence and immunoelectron microscopy, we have studied the major ID components for up to 2 weeks in culture, paying special attention to spontaneously beating, individual cardiomyocytes and myocardial cell colonies. While our results demonstrate the formation of some ID-like cardiomyocyte-connecting junction arrays, they also reveal a variety of structural disorders such as rather extended, junction-free ID regions, sac-like invaginations and endocytotic blebs as well as accumulations of intracytoplasmic structures suggestive of endocytosed forms of junction-derived vesicles or of junction fragments resembling fascia adhaerens elements. Moreover, we have noticed a novel type of small, obviously plaque-free cytoplasmic vesicles containing one or both of the desmosomal cadherins, desmocollin Dsc2 and desmoglein Dsg2. We conclude that cardiomyocyte cultures are useful model systems for studies of certain aspects of myocardiac differentiation and functions but, on the other hand, show progressive disintegration and deterioration. The potential value of molecular markers and reagents in studies of myocardial pathology as well as in the monitoring of myocardial differentiation of so-called stem cells is discussed.  相似文献

Targeting nuclear receptor RORγ is recognized to be beneficial in multiple autoimmune disorders. We disclosed new indole analogues as potent RORγ inverse agonists. RO-2 as one of the potent and orally bioavailable compounds was evaluated in various models of autoimmune disorder. It showed potent suppression of downstream markers of RORγt activity in murine and human primary cells, ex vivo PD assay and in multiple animal models of autoimmune diseases. The results indicate the potential of these indole analogues as orally bioavailable small molecule inverse agonists of RORγt, efficacious in various Th17 driven models of autoimmune disorders.  相似文献
