长江江豚背部皮肤表面有一长条小齿,由1—3排组成。它是由表皮向体表突起而成。小齿区皮肤中的乳头深深伸入表皮,几达表面,它的高度在成体约占整个表皮厚度的70—80%,新生幼儿为84.6%。经研究,我们发现在小齿区皮肤中存在着大量类似于人类皮肤中的环层小体那样的被囊神经末梢和几种有鞘神经纤维束。根据这些结构,我们认为小齿是一种感觉器官,它并不能起到防止幼儿从母体背部滑落的作用。    相似文献

Summary The corpuscles of Stannius (CS) of the cichlid Oreochromis mossambicus (formerly Sarotherodon mossambicus) were studied in relation to sexual maturation and plasma calcium levels. After sexual maturation, the CS are enlarged in female fish, because of an increase in size and number of the type-1 cells. During the ovarian cycle, the size of the CS increases in parallel with the growth of the ovaries. Concurrently, plasma total calcium increases markedly until spawning. This increase is mainly accounted for by calcium bound to proteins (vitellogenins), but the ultrafiltrable calcium fraction is also slightly higher than in males. Ovariectomy is followed by a reduction in the size of the CS, mainly a result of involution of the type-1 cells, and by a reduction in plasma calcium to levels typical for males. Gonadectomy in males does not affect size or ultrastructure of the CS, or plasma calcium levels. Since the type-1 cells of the CS are the presumptive source of a hypocalcemic hormone, we conclude that activation of the CS during the female reproductive cycle is a response to elevated calcium levels that accompany ovarian maturation. We suggest that the CS respond in particular to the elevated ultrafiltrable or ionic calcium levels.  相似文献

Summary Merkel corpuscles in the lingual mucosa of the finch, Lonchura striata, were examined by means of the argyrophilic reaction and electron microscopy. These corpuscles are composed of 12 to 20 flattened Merkel cells and enclosed nerve terminals. The present study demonstrated for the first time argyrophilia in avian subepithelial Merkel cells with the use of Grimelius silver stain. Electron-microscopically, the Merkel cell was characterized by the presence of numerous densecore granules, approximately 80 to 140 nm in diameter, as well as specialized contacts with nerve terminals. The granules showed a tendency to accumulate in the cytoplasm in close association with both nerve terminals and basal lamina. This study also provided unequivocal evidence for exocytotic discharge of Merkel-cell granules at the plasma membrane facing not only the nerve terminals but also the basal lamina. The exocytotic figures toward the nerve terminals can be regarded as synaptic discharge of Merkel-cell granules, but the possibility also exists that the Merkel-cell granules may exert a trophic effect on the nerve terminals. The exocytotic release of Merkel-cell granules toward the basal lamina with no relation to nerve terminals may suggest an endocrine (paracrine) function for the Merkel cell. The avian subepithelial Merkel cells qualify as paraneurons, but their exact nature and function remain enigmatic as is the case of intraepithelial Merkel cells in other vertebrates.  相似文献

The mature vitelline cell in Schistosoma mansoni and S. haematobium contains inclusions identified as calcareous corpuscles. They originate in the dilated cisternae of the granular endoplasmic reticulum and are eventually released when the vitelline cell starts to disintegrate in the fully formed egg capsule. X-ray microprobe analysis of single-fixed but conventionally prepared specimens, as well as of material quenched in liquid nitrogen slush and cryosectioned, indicated that the corpuscles contained phosphorus, calcium, and magnesium. The debris surrounding the developing embryo within the egg capsule also contained the elements phosphorus and calcium. Dosage of infected mice with Astiban produced an increase in total calcium content.  相似文献

Kassis A. I. and Tanner C. E. 1976. The role of complement in hydatid disease: in vitro studies. International Journal for Parasitology6: 25–35. Fresh sera from normal humans, guinea pigs, sheep, cotton rats, B10.D2/n Sn mice or infected cotton rats lyse viable protoscoleces of Echinococcus granulosus and E. multilocularis in vitro. This protoscolecidal activity can be abolished by heating at 56°C, EDTA or incubating with cobra venom factor, suggesting that complement proteins participate in this lytic process. Crude unfiltered hydatid fluid, as well as complement-lysed dead protoscoleces, are anticomplementary in vitro and, as such, probably protect viable protoscoleces in vivo against the action of complement. This anticomplementary activity was found to be associated with the calcareous corpuscles. A hypothesis is presented which relates these in vitro findings to the development of the parasite in vivo. It is suggested that the use of formalin during surgery to kill the parasite should be replaced by fresh serum.  相似文献
