小麦从开花至成熟,其根、茎和叶中的N素不断地进行着分配和再分配,主要是向穗子输出。成熟时穗N含量占植株总N的82%。在总N净输出的同时各营养器官也有相当程度的对当前土壤N的净吸收。在籽粒充实阶段用BA处理叶式穗均影响营养器官及穗子的N素吸收、分配和再分配。  相似文献

Absorption and imagery locate immune responses in the body   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Imagery instructions specifying mucosal immunity should alter mucosal immunoglobulin A (m-IgA) levels in high absorbers, whose intent concentration evokes intense physiological responses. After screening for health status, 121 high or low absorbers were randomly assigned to either Relaxation Alone (R), Relaxation with Mucosal Immune Imagery (RI), or Vigilance Task control (VT). Before and after one 60-min intervention, subjects reported theory-relevant psychological variables and provided 5ml whole saliva, which was immediately frozen and assayed lateren masse with enzyme-linked immunoabsorbence (ELISA). MANOVA analysis of psychological variables replicated past research. ANOVA on residualized m-IgA found Time × Absorption interaction and Condition main effects. High more than low absorbers responded to relaxation with mucosal immune imagery by producing higher m-IgA. High absorbers appear able to locate where their immune systems will respond. Individual differences like absorption level need to be emphasized in diagnosis and treatment responsiveness.National Institutes of HealthM. Nutrient uptake relationship to root characteristics of rice   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Data on root parameters and distribution are important for an improved understanding of the factors influencing nutrient uptake by a crop. Therefore, a study was conducted on a Crowley silt loam at the Rice Research and Extension Center near Stuttgart, Arkansas to measure root growth and N, P and K uptake by three rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivars at active tillering (36 days after emergence (DAE)), maximum tillering (41 DAE), 1.25 cm internode elongation (55 DAE), booting (77 DAE) and heading (88 DAE). Soil-root core samples were taken to a depth of 40 cm after plant samples were removed, sectioned into 5 cm intervals, roots were washed from soil and root lengths, dry weights and radii were measured. Root parameters were significantly affected by the soil depth × growth stage interaction. In addition, only root radius was affected by cultivar. At the 0- to 5-cm soil depth, root length density ranged from 38 to 93 cm cm-3 throughout the growing season and decreased with depth to about 2 cm cm-3 in the 35- to 40-cm depth increment. The increase in root length measured with each succeeding growth stage in each soil horizon also resulted in increased root surface area, hence providing more exposed area for nutrient uptake. About 90% of the total root length was found in the 0- to 20-cm soil depth throughout the season. Average root radius measured in the 0- to 5-cm and 35- to 40-cm depth increments ranged from 0.012 to 0.013 cm and 0.004 to 0.005 cm, respectively throughout the season. Total nutrient uptake by rice differed among cultivars only during vegetative growth. Differences in total nutrient uptake among the cultivars in the field appear to be related to absorption kinetics of the cultivars measured in a growth chamber study. 在无氧条件下,绵羊精子通过酵解途径获得能量,代谢结果产生大量乳酸,本实验通过测定精子悬液中果糖摄取以及乳酸生成量,研究肌肽、棉酚对绵羊精子酵解途径的影响,结果表明:4mM肌肽对绵羊精子酵解有显著增强作用,并能刺激精子对果糖的摄取。12μM棉酚对绵羊精子无明显抑制,棉酚能部分抑制肌肽对精子的酵解作用。  相似文献

We present ab-initio periodic Hartree–Fock calculations (crystal program) of small molecules on TiO2 and MgO. The adsorption of the molecules may be molecular or dissociative. This depends on their acid and basic properties in the gas phase. For the molecular adsorption, the molecules are adsorbed as bases on Ti(+IV) sites, the adsorption energies correlate with the proton affinities. The dissociations on the surface correlate with the gas phase cleavages: thus, the dissociation of MeOH leads to a preferential basic cleavage (the fragment HO– is adsorbed on a Ti+4 ion and the fragment Me+ is adsorbed on a O2– ion of the oxide). The opposite result is obtained with MeSH. Another important factor is the adsorbate–adsorbate interaction: favorable cases are a sequence of H-bonds for the hydroxyl groups resulting from the water dissociation and the mode of adsorption for the ammonium ions. Lateral interactions also force the adsorbed CO2 molecules to bend over the surface so that their mutual orientation resembles the geometry of the CO2 dimer. With respect to water adsorption, MgO appears to be a basic oxide. As experimentally observed, NH3 adsorbs preferentially on TiO2 and CO2 on MgO. However, this difference of reactivity should not be expressed in terms of acid vs. basic behaviour but in terms of hard and soft acidity. The MgO surface is a 'soft' acidic surface that reacts preferentially with the soft base, CO2.  相似文献

A few studies indirectly support the existence of an intermediate in the transition of Ca(2+)-saturated bovine alpha-lactalbumin (alpha-LA) from the native (N) to the acidic (A) state, known as the molten globule state. However, direct experimental evidence for the appearance of this intermediate has not been obtained. The signal of circular polarization of luminescence (CPL) is sensitive to fine conformational transitions because of its susceptibility to changes in the environmental asymmetry of fluorescent chromophores in their excited electronic states. In the present study, CPL measurements were applied using the intrinsic tryptophan fluorescence of alpha-LA as well as the fluorescence of 8-anilino-1-naphthalenesulfonic acid (ANS) bound to alpha-LA. CPL of tryptophan and ANS was measured in the pH range of 2.5-6 in order to find direct experimental evidence for the proposed intermediate. CPL (characterized by the emission anisotropy factor, g(em)) depends on the asymmetry of the protein molecular structure in the environment of the tryptophan and the ANS chromophores in the excited electronic state. The pH dependence of both the gab, absorption anisotropy factor determined by CD, and the ANS steady state fluorescence, showed a single transition at pH 3-3.7 as already reported elsewhere. This transition was interpreted as being a result of a change of the alpha-LA tertiary structure, which resulted in a loss of asymmetry of the environment of both the tryptophan residues and the ANS hydrophobic binding sites. The pH dependence of the tryptophan and ANS g(em) showed an additional conformational transition at pH 4-5, which coincided with the pKa of Ca2+ dissociation (pKa 5), as predicted by Permyakov et al. (1981, Biochem Biophys Res Commun 100:191-197). The titration curve showed that there is a pH range between 3.7 and 4.1 in which alpha-LA exists in an intermediate state between the N- and A-state. We suggest that the intermediate is the premolten globule state characterized by a reduced Ca2+ binding to the alpha-LA, native-like tertiary structure, and reduced asymmetric fluctuation of the tertiary structure on the nanosecond time scale. This intermediate resembles the "critical activated state" theoretically deduced by Kuwajima et al. (1989, J Mol Biol 206:547-561). The present study demonstrates the power of CPL measurements for the investigation of folding/unfolding transitions in proteins.  相似文献

Specific absorption rates (SARs) were determined theoretically and experimentally for several spherical models of tissue exposed to electrical fields of TE101 mode in a rectangular cavity of 57.3 MHz resonant frequency. The approximate theoretical SAR can be calculated according to the Mie theory by superposition of four plane waves representing the fields excited in the cavity. The theoretical and thermographically determined SAR patterns in spheres with radii of 5, 7.5, and 10 cm and with conductivities of 0.1, 1, and 10 S/m were compared. For a sphere with radius less than 7.5 cm and conductivity less than 1 S/m, the SAR was quite uniform. When conductivity was increased to 10 S/m, the SAR patterns showed higher absorption in the periphery of the largest sphere (10-cm radius). These characteristics are important in evaluating the scaling technique of exposing a model of a human to very-high-frequency fields to obtain power absorption data in humans exposed to high-frequency or very-low-frequency fields.  相似文献

Filtered proteins including the low-molecular-weight protein lysozyme are reabsorbed by the proximal tubule via adsorptive endocytosis. This process starts with binding of the protein to the brush-border membrane. The binding of 125I-labelled egg-white lysozyme (EC 3.2.1.17) to isolated brush-border membranes of rat kidney and the effect of several low-molecular weight proteins on that binding was determined. The Scatchard plot revealed a one-component binding type with a dissociation constant of 5.3 μM and 53.0 nmol/mg membrane protein for the number of binding sites. The binding of the cationic lysozyme was inhibited competitively by the addition of cationic cytochrome c to the incubation medium, while the neutral myoglobin had no effect. The anionic β-lactoglobulin A inhibited the lysozyme binding in a noncompetitive manner. These data suggest that the binding takes place between positively charged groups of the protein molecule and negative sites on the brush-border membrane, and, the competition between the cationic cytochrome c and the cationic lysozyme for the binding sites may be responsible for the inhibitory effect of cytochrome c on renal lysozyme reabsorption. The binding step at the brush-border membrane appears to be cation-selective.  相似文献

The design of a thin quartz cell suitable for absorption and circular dichroism measurements in the vacuum ultraviolet is described. Important features of the cell are (1) that it can be disassembled for cleaning and reproducibly reassembled with path lengths up to 0.3 mm, and (2) that strain in the windows from the compressed sample can be relieved by a sample overflow port. The latter feature allows the cell to be used for circular dichroism as well as absorption measurements.  相似文献

The XANES (X-ray absorption near edge structure) spectra of deoxy human adult haemoglobin (HbA) and myoglobin (Mb) have been measured at the wiggler beam line of the Frascati synchrotron radiation facility. The XANES are interpreted by the multiple scattering cluster theory. The variations in the XANES between HbA and Mb are assigned to changes in the Fe-porphyrin geometry.  相似文献
