赤狐气味对高原鼠兔繁殖的影响   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
在野外条件下,利用赤狐的粪尿气味增加高原鼠兔的捕食风险,研究捕食风险对高原鼠兔繁殖的影响。结果表明,作为衡量高原鼠兔繁殖投入大小的定量指标,成体高原鼠兔的体重变化在捕食风险处理样方与对照样方之间没有明显的不同,随着繁殖期的延长,两样方内雌雄个体的体重均显减少,说明捕食风险对高原鼠兔的繁殖投入无明显影响,因此,捕食风险对幼体的生长、发育也无明显的作用。捕食风险增加后,高原鼠兔平均每个雌性成体拥有的后代数目、性比和居留率与对照样方比较均无明显不同,但是由于扩散等原因使每个雄性成体拥有的后代数、繁殖期结束后幼体的性比有明显的差异。以上结果并未显示出捕食气味作为捕食风险对高原鼠兔的繁殖产生抑制作用,其主要原因是捕食风险的类型不同和研究期间高原鼠兔本身承受的捕食风险较大,高原鼠兔可能通过行为变化调节捕食风险增加对其产生的不利影响。  相似文献

为减轻大量禽畜废弃物中氨气流失对环境的污染,研究和优化了微生物与秸秆等辅料对氨气释放量的影响。结果表明,F468、M1?M9等除臭微生物能显著降低氨气的释放量,其中F468是最优微生物,其它微生物与F468的配伍并没有显著增强F468降低氨气释放量的能力,有些微生物还降低了其能力,因此选择单一微生物法降低氨气释放量。单独添加辅料对降低氨气的释放影响较小,辅料与微生物的配伍可大量降低氨气的释放量。5%的F468与10%的秸秆配伍在1?5 d降低88%的释放量。应用微生物与秸秆不仅降低氨气挥发对环境的危害,也是秸秆资源化利用的有效途径之一。  相似文献

Attraction of many gravid female herbivore insects to suitable host plants is mediated largely by olfactory cues. Behaviorally, synergism among odor mixtures constituents underlies this attraction in some systems. Yet, the representation of synergistic odor-mixture effects is unknown in the antennal lobe, the first processing center for olfactory information in insect brains. Using both behavioral and physiological data we demonstrate that in the oriental fruit moth, Cydia (Grapholita) molesta, a minor constituent of a plant-derived synthetic mixture plays a key role in behavioral discrimination and in neural representation of mixtures. Behaviorally, minute amounts of benzonitrile added to an unattractive 4-compound mixture resulted in a bioactive 5-compound mixture that was as attractive to mated female moths as the natural blend. Physiologically, the bioactive benzonitrile-containing mixture elicited strong activation of one additional, new type of glomerulus that showed specific synergisms for this mixture. The specific pattern of activated glomeruli elicited by the addition of benzonitrile demonstrates a physiological correlate to the behaviorally observed synergism, and emphasizes the key role of a minor component of a complex mixture. While minor constituents of mixtures are often overlooked, they may, as conclusively documented here, be determinant for successful recognition and behavioral discrimination of suitable host plants by herbivore insects.  相似文献

对目前国内外污水厂除臭技术的现状进行了综述, 介绍了目前应用于城市污水厂恶臭污染治理的多种技术, 并对其优缺点进行比较。分析结果表明, 水洗法和喷淋法简单易行, 但对臭气的去除率较低; 药剂吸收法和活性炭吸收法可以达到较好的去除效果, 但是运行费用较高; 而生物除臭法对臭气的去除率高、运行费用低、无二次污染, 是一种较为经济有效的除臭技术, 也是今后污水厂除臭技术的主要发展方向。  相似文献

We determined whether seasonal differences exist in the amount of time meadow voles, Microtus pennsylvanicus, self-groom when they encounter the scents of conspecifics. To do so, we used voles that were born and reared under long photoperiod (LP) and short photoperiod (SP). LP voles represent those found in free-living populations during the spring and summer breeding season, whereas SP voles characterize those found in free-living populations during the fall and winter nonbreeding season. Experiment 1 showed that LP male and female voles self-groomed more in response to odors of LP opposite-sex conspecifics as compared to those of other LP and SP conspecifics, suggesting that they may be self-grooming to signal sexual interest or excitement to potential mates. Experiment 2 demonstrated that SP males self-groomed more in response to scents of LP female voles and those of SP males as compared to scents of LP males and SP females, whereas SP females spent similar amounts of time self-grooming in response to scents of LP males, LP females, SP females, and SP males. These seasonal differences in self-grooming may reflect differences in the messages produced by groomers when they broadcast their odors as well as differences in the meaning of such odors to opposite-sex conspecifics. Alternatively, these data may be associated with seasonal differences in sexual motivation of the groomers when exposed to scents of particular conspecifics.  相似文献

The present study was designed to investigate the role of androgen in the medial amygdala (MeA) in the expression of sexual odor preference in male rats. Gonadally intact, sexually experienced male rats received bilateral administration of flutamide, an androgen receptor (AR) blocker, aimed at either the posterior dorsal part (MePD) or the anterior dorsal part (MeAD) of the MeA through inner cannulae inserted into the implanted guide cannulae. Prior to flutamide administration, all subjects spent longer sniffing volatile odors from an estrous female than those from a sexually active male. Experiment 1 demonstrated that the preference for the female odors over the male odors was eliminated during flutamide administration into the MePD, but not into either the MeAD or outside MePD/MeAD. This elimination of the female-directed odor preference resulted from increase of time sniffing the male odors rather than decrease of time sniffing the estrous odors. In Experiment 2, odor discrimination tests confirmed that the flutamide administration into the MePD did not induce impairment in the ability of the subjects to discriminate the estrous odors from the male odors. These results demonstrated that activation of AR in the MePD plays a critical role in the expression of the preference for estrous odors over male odors. AR blockade, however, seemed to induce a preference for male odors rather than reduce the existing preference for estrous odors, suggesting a complicated regulation of sexual odor preference by sex steroids.  相似文献

We asked whether odor discrimination abilities are sexually dimorphic in mice and, if so, whether the perinatal actions of estradiol contribute to these sex differences. The ability to discriminate different types of urinary odors was compared in male and female wild-type (WT) subjects and in mice with a homozygous-null mutation of the estrogen synthetic enzyme, aromatase (aromatase knockout; ArKO). Olfactory discrimination was assessed in WT and ArKO male and female mice after they were gonadectomized in adulthood and subsequently treated with estradiol benzoate. A liquid olfactometer was used to assess food-motivated olfactory discrimination capacity. All animals eventually learned to distinguish between urinary odors collected from gonadally intact males and estrous females; however, WT males as well as ArKO mice of both sexes learned this discrimination significantly more rapidly than WT females. Similar group differences were obtained when mice discriminated between urinary odors collected from gonadally intact vs. castrated males or between two non-social odorants, amyl and butyl acetate. When subjects had to discriminate volatile urinary odors from ovariectomized female mice treated with estradiol sequenced with progesterone versus estradiol alone, ArKO females quickly acquired the task whereas WT males and females as well as ArKO males failed to do so. These results demonstrated a strong sex dimorphism in olfactory discrimination ability, with WT males performing better than females. Furthermore, female ArKO mice showed an enhanced ability to discriminate very similar urinary odorants, perhaps due to an increased sensitivity of the main olfactory nervous system to adult estradiol treatment as a result of perinatal estrogen deprivation.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of bioaugmenting anaerobic biosolids digestion with a commercial product containing selected strains of bacteria from genera Bacillus, Pseudomonas, and Actinomycetes, along with ancillary organic compounds containing various micronutrients. Specifically, the effects of the bioaugment in terms of volatile solids destruction and generation and fate of odor-causing compounds during anaerobic digestion and during storage of the digested biosolids were studied. Two bench-scale anaerobic digesters receiving primary and secondary clarifier biosolids from various full-scale biological wastewater treatment plants were operated. One of the digesters received the bioaugment developed by Organica Biotech, while the other was operated as control. The bioaugmented digester generated 29% more net CH4 during the 8 weeks of operation. In addition, the average residual propionic acid concentration in the bioaugmented digester was 54% of that in the control. The monitoring of two organic sulfide compounds, methyl mercaptan (CH3SH) and dimethyl sulfide (CH3SCH3), clearly demonstrated the beneficial effects of the bioaugmentation in terms of odor control. The biosolids digested in the bioaugmented digester generated a negligible amount of CH3SH during 10 days of post-digestion storage, while CH3SH concentration in the control reached nearly 300 ppmv during the same period. Similarly, peak CH3SCH3 generated by stored biosolids from the bioaugmented digester was only 37% of that from the control.  相似文献

We investigated a population activity of central olfactory neurons after the termination of odor input. Olfactory response of projection neurons in the moth primary olfactory center was characterized using in vivo intracellular recording and staining techniques. The population activity changed rapidly to the different states after the stimulus offset. The response after stimulus offset represents information regarding odor identity. We analyzed the spatial distribution of offset-activated glomeruli in a virtual neuronal population that was reconstructed using accumulated individual recordings obtained from different specimens. The offset-activated glomeruli tended to be widely distributed, whereas the onset-activated glomeruli were relatively clustered. These results suggest the importance of lateral interaction in shaping the offset olfactory response.  相似文献
