本研究进行了斯氏新小绥螨Neoseiulus swirskii (Athias-Henriot)以神泽氏叶螨Tetranychus kanzawai(Kishida)为猎物时,在15℃、18℃、20℃、25℃、30℃和35℃下的发育历期和实验种群生命表的研究,结果表明15℃时斯氏新小绥螨不能完成发育,18℃时仅少量个体能完成发育.在18~35℃之间,雌螨的发育历期为7.15~18.70 d,雄螨的发育历期为4.00~16.20 d.在20℃~35℃之间,斯氏新小绥螨的雌雄性比(♀∶♂)随着温度的升高而变小,20℃时性比最大(1.77),25℃时净增殖率(R0)最大(36.497),35℃时世代生长周期最短(15.433),30℃时内禀增长率(rm)和周限增长率(λ)均最大,分别为0.197和1.218,种群倍增时间(t)最短(3.513);随着温度的增加,斯氏新小绥螨的平均寿命逐渐变短,20℃时最长(73.40±1.26 d),35℃时最短(25.10±1.20d);25℃时每雌平均产卵量最高(60.44±1.51粒/雌),35℃时日平均产卵量最高(2.06±0.09粒/雌/d).  相似文献

A range of naturally occurring predator species or commercially produced predators can be used in biocontrol strategies for pests. However, multiple potential prey species or other alternative food sources are often present for predatory insects at any one time. The availability of this ‘alternative’ prey may affect specific pest control by predators and thus influence the release rates of predators required for economic pest control. Strawberry aphid (Chaetosiphon fragaefolii), western flower thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis) and European tarnished plant bug (Lygus rugulipennis) are important and damaging pests in strawberry. In this study, laboratory, glasshouse and field experiments were undertaken to assess the effects of the availability of multiple prey species on biocontrol of specific pests. Results indicated that two of the predators tested showed preferences for prey species such that biocontrol of a particular pest was often less effective when a combination of pest species was present than would have been expected from results of experiments with single prey species alone. The experiments indicated that Orius laevigatus preferred C. fragaefolii to F. occidentalis or to L. rugulipennis, and preferred L. rugulipennis to F. occidentalis. Chrysoperla carnea was shown to prefer C. fragaefolii to L. rugulipennis, and C. fragaefolii over F. occidentalis. Therefore, it is important to consider the effects of alternative prey on suppression of pest species when deciding on management strategies and release rates of predators.  相似文献

Small scale glasshouse trials showed that second instar nymphs of Orius laevigatus reduced Frankliniella occidentalis numbers (78-92%) more than Neoseiulus cucumeris (0-30%). Combining the predators did not increase reduction of thrips numbers (84-93%). Pollen did not increase thrips control, but led to an increase in the number of thrips.  相似文献

Females of some insects and mites that mate repeatedly (multiple-mated females) or that have limited food supply have a shortened life span, compared to females that are allowed to mate only once (single-mated females) or that have ample food. The present study focused on the relationship between mating frequency and various reproduction-related parameters in a commercial strain (Spical) of the phytoseiid mite Neoseiulus californicus (McGregor) (Acari: Phytoseiidae). The impetus for this study came from the previous finding that single-mated females displayed an extremely long postoviposition period (ca. 60 days), accounting for more than 75% of the total adult longevity. In the present study it was found that the postoviposition period in the multiple-mated females was shorter than in the single-mated females and that longevity was gradually shortened with increasing mating frequency. Total egg production in females that mated twice or more was higher than in single-mated females, but egg production did not increase further with more than two matings. Single- and multiple-mated females ceased oviposition on the 24th and 34th day of adult life, respectively; multiple-mated females produced only male progeny on and after the 30th day. The postoviposition period of multiple-mated females was 40% shorter than that of single-mated females. Yet, the postoviposition period of the multiple-mated females is still more than 30 days, suggesting that other factors besides mating frequency have an influence on the prolonged postoviposition period. The reproductive ability of the Spical strain females gradually decreased with increasing virgin period (i.e. with increasing age), but they did not lose their reproductive potential--not even when mating was delayed for more than 2 months (i.e. females remained virgin for 70 days).  相似文献

The β-ligands     
The 5-hydroxybenzimidazolylcobamide (B12-HBI) derivatives from Methanosarcina barkeri were isolated. SO32?, CN?, H2O, NH3 and CH3? were identified as β-ligands. Two B12-HBI compounds with unidentified β-ligands were found, of which one constituted a major part of the corrinoid content. 5′-Deoxyadenosyl was found as a β-ligand of a corrinoid without α-ligand. Biosynthesis of CH3B12HBI was observed in cell-free extracts and depended on methanol and ATP.  相似文献

N 5 N 10-Methylenetetrahydromethanopterin reductase was purified 13-fold to apparent homogeneity from methanol grown Methanosarcina barkeri . The colourless enzyme was found to be composed of four identical subunits of apparent molecular mass 36 kDa. It catalysed the reduction of methylenetetrahydromethanopterin ( K m=15 μM) to methyltetrahydromethanopterin with reduced coenzyme F420 ( K m=12 μM) at a specific rate ( V max) of 2200 μmol min−1· mg protein−1 ( K cat=1320 s−1). With respect to coenzyme specificity, molecular properties and catalytic mechanism the enzyme was found to be similar to CH2=H4MPT reductase of Methanobacterium thermoautotrophicum which phylogenetically is only distantly related to M. barkeri .  相似文献

Rates of prey consumption, egg production and prey conversion by the predacious mite, Neoseiulus californicus (McGregor) were estimated at different densities of Tetranychus urticae Koch, Bemisia tabaci (Genn.) and Thrips tabaci Lind. in the laboratory. N. californicus females functionally and numerically responded to the increasing densities of T. urticae nymphs, B. tabaci nymphs and T. tabaci larvae showing Holling’s type II. The maximum mean predation and oviposition rates by the predator females devouring T. urticae, B. tabaci and T. tabaci occurred at 15, 10 and 10 prey individuals/day, respectively, followed by the plateau levels at higher prey densities. N. californicus females exhibited the highest feeding and oviposition on T. urticae nymphs, followed by T. tabaci larvae and B. tabaci nymphs. The predator females showed the highest efficiency in converting the prey into egg progeny at 5 individuals/day of the previous prey species, respectively. T. urticae was the most favourable for N. californicus females, followed by T. tabaci and B. tabaci.  相似文献

胡瓜新小绥螨Neoseiulus cucumeris和尼氏真绥螨Euseius nicholsi是重要的捕食性天敌,其中前者为引进种类,后者为本地种类。本文在室内25℃条件下,以粉螨为食料饲养胡瓜新小绥螨,以二斑叶螨为食料饲养尼氏真绥螨,组建生殖率表,结果表明:胡瓜新小绥螨的产卵量(平均36.35±5.56粒/雌)、內禀增长率(rm=0.0942)、周限增长率(λ=1.0988)均高于尼氏真绥螨的平均产卵量29.78±3.11粒/雌、内禀增长率rm=0.0827、周限增长率λ=1.0863,且种群倍增时间(t=7.35 d)也较尼氏真绥螨(t=8.38 d)短。通过各参数的比较,在恒温25℃条件下,胡瓜新小绥螨具有较大的生殖潜力。在以桔全爪螨为食料,进行混合饲养时,两种捕食螨的种群增长均受到抑制,而尼氏真绥螨受到的抑制更明显。说明胡瓜新小绥螨竞争力强于尼氏真绥螨。  相似文献

Western flower thrips, Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae), is a major pest of strawberry, Fragaria × ananassa Duchesne (Rosaceae). Spinosad is highly efficacious against F. occidentalis, and spinosad is believed to be compatible in an integrated pest management program. This study determined whether F. occidentalis could be controlled with predatory mites [Typhlodromips montdorensis (Schicha), Neoseiulus cucumeris (Oudemans) (both Acari: Phytoseiidae), and Hypoaspis miles (Berlese) (Acari: Laelapidae)] and spinosad in strawberry. In the glasshouse, three strawberry cultivars (Camarosa, Camino Real, and Albion) were sprayed once with spinosad at the recommended rate (80 ml 100 l?1 rate, 0.096 g a.i. l?1) or with water (control). Thrips adults were released onto plants 24 h after spraying and predatory mites released 6 days later. Spinosad significantly reduced thrips numbers compared with water. All three mite species reduced F. occidentalis numbers, and spinosad had no effect on predatory mites. Though H. miles could not be counted, the numbers of thrips in treatments with H. miles were lower than those in treatments without the mite. Thrips numbers were lowest on Camino Real and highest on Camarosa. These results suggest that the use of Camino Real with spinosad applications followed by releases of predatory mites can significantly reduce thrips numbers.  相似文献

The adaptive canalization hypothesis predicts that highly fitness‐relevant traits are canalized via past selection, resulting in low phenotypic plasticity and high robustness to environmental stress. Accordingly, we hypothesized that the level of phenotypic plasticity of male body size of the predatory mites Phytoseiulus persimilis (low plasticity) and Neoseiulus californicus (high plasticity) reflects the effects of body size variation on fitness, especially male lifetime reproductive success (LRS). We first generated small and standard‐sized males of P. persimilis and N. californicus by rearing them to adulthood under limited and ample prey supply, respectively. Then, adult small and standard‐sized males were provided with surplus virgin females throughout life to assess their mating and reproductive traits. Small male body size did not affect male longevity or the number of fertilized females but reduced male LRS of P. persimilis but not N. californicus. Proximately, the lower LRS of small than standard‐sized P. persimilis males correlated with shorter mating durations, probably decreasing the amount of transferred sperm. Ultimately, we suggest that male body size is more strongly canalized in P. persimilis than N. californicus because deviation from standard body size has larger detrimental fitness effects in P. persimilis than N. californicus. © 2014 The Authors.
