La Salada de Chiprana Lake, located in the Ebro River basin, northeastern Spain, is the only permanent and deep water hypersaline ecosystem in all of western Europe. With a total surface of 31 ha and a maximum depth of 5.6 m, it has several basins bounded by elongated sandstone-bodies or ribbons which are paleochannels of Miocene age. Its salinity varied from 30 to 73 g 1–1 during the 1989 hydrological cycle and the most abundant ions were magnesium and sulphate. Depth-time distributions of major physico-chemical variables demonstrated that the lake was stratified in two distinctive layers during most of the year. The chemocline disappeared only in October, with the complete overturn of the water column. In the deep water, three conditions occurred which allowed development of green sulphur bacteria populations: (1) oxygen depletion, (2) presence of hydrogen sulphide and (3) presence of light. Summary The cavernous body of green monkeys contains many unmyelinated and few myelinated axons. The unmyelinated axons form terminals in the adventitia of the arteries, between trabecular muscle cells, in the interstitium, and close to endothelium cells of the sinuses. All terminals displayed predominantly small clear vesicles and very few large granular vesicles; small granular vesicles were not seen. However, in rabbit penises, terminals with many large granular vesicles are prominent. Immunohistochemistry (PAP technique) showed a dense network of VIP- and NPY-reactive fibres around the arteries and around trabecular muscles. The density of nerve fibres was particularly high around the subendothelial cushions of the helicine arteries. Double staining for NPY and VIP revealed that both peptides were colocalized. Immunocytochemistry (preembedding PAP technique) showed VIP- and NPY-reactivity in terminals with small clear vesicles; the reaction product was bound to the cytoplasmic face of different membrane types. Although the intracellular localization of the reaction product is probably due to artefactual displacement during preparation, the uniformity of the terminals questions the view that large and small granular vesicles in all species characterize peptidergic and noradrenergic terminals, respectively. The essential findings can be summarized as (1) a high degree of uniformity of nerve terminals, (2) colocalization of VIP and NPY, (3) heavy innervation of the subendothelial cushions of the helicine arteries, and (4) possible innervation of endothelial cells. 相似文献

第 1代人工杉木林皆伐后 ,3种不同的经营模式 ,即连载杉木纯林、杉木与固 N阔叶树混交林和杉木与非固 N阔叶树混交林 ,对林地土壤质量和土壤水化学的影响进行了比较。结果表明 ,在杉树与阔叶树混交经营模式下 ,土壤养分含量增加 ,物理性状改善 ,土壤生物活性提高 ,微生物商 (Cmic:Corg)上升 ,代谢商 (q CO2 )稍有下降 ,但杉木与固 N树种的混交对土壤质量的改善效果比杉木与非固 N树种混交好 ;相反 ,杉木连载只能导致林地土壤质量的逐渐恶化 ;土壤溶液中 ,主要来自于大气中的一些离子浓度 ,如 SO2 - 4,Cl- ,Na 和 Mg2 ,在杉木纯林中显著高于混交林 ,而主要受系统内影响较大的一些离子 ,如 K 和NH 4,NO- 3,在经营模式间变异较小 ;H 和 Al3 浓度也是杉木纯林比混交林高。另外 ,研究结果还表明 ,总有机 C、CEC和微生物 C与其它土壤理化性质与生物学性质之间存在着较好的相关性 ,所以可以将总有机 C、CEC和微生物 C作为红黄壤地区亚热带人工林土壤质量的指示指标 相似文献

Considering the important role of oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of several neurological diseases, and the growing evidence
of the presence of compounds with antioxidant properties in the plant extracts, the aim of the present study was to investigate
the antioxidant capacity of three plants used in Brazil to treat neurological disorders: Melissa officinalis, Matricaria recutita and Cymbopogon citratus. The antioxidant effect of phenolic compounds commonly found in plant extracts, namely, quercetin, gallic acid, quercitrin
and rutin was also examined for comparative purposes. Cerebral lipid peroxidation (assessed by TBARS) was induced by iron
sulfate (10 μM), sodium nitroprusside (5 μM) or 3-nitropropionic acid (2 mM). Free radical scavenger properties and the chemical
composition of plant extracts were assessed by 1′-1′ Diphenyl-2′ picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method and by Thin Layer Chromatography
(TLC), respectively. M. officinalis aqueous extract caused the highest decrease in TBARS production induced by all tested pro-oxidants. In the DPPH assay, M. officinalis presented also the best antioxidant effect, but, in this case, the antioxidant potencies were similar for the aqueous, methanolic
and ethanolic extracts. Among the purified compounds, quercetin had the highest antioxidant activity followed by gallic acid,
quercitrin and rutin. In this work, we have demonstrated that the plant extracts could protect against oxidative damage induced
by various pro-oxidant agents that induce lipid peroxidation by different process. Thus, plant extracts could inhibit the
generation of early chemical reactive species that subsequently initiate lipid peroxidation or, alternatively, they could
block a common final pathway in the process of polyunsaturated fatty acids peroxidation. Our study indicates that M. officinalis could be considered an effective agent in the prevention of various neurological diseases associated with oxidative stress. 相似文献

Recent studies have indicated that the C4 perennial bioenergy crops switchgrass (Panicum virgatum) and big bluestem (Andropogon gerardii) accumulate significant amounts of soil carbon (C) owing to their extensive root systems. Soil C accumulation is likely driven by inter- and intraspecific variability in plant traits, but the mechanisms that underpin this variability remain unresolved. In this study we evaluated how inter- and intraspecific variation in root traits of cultivars from switchgrass (Cave-in-Rock, Kanlow, Southlow) and big bluestem (Bonanza, Southlow, Suther) affected the associations of soil C accumulation across soil fractions using stable isotope techniques. Our experimental field site was established in June 2008 at Fermilab in Batavia, IL. In 2018, soil cores were collected (30 cm depth) from all cultivars. We measured root biomass, root diameter, specific root length, bulk soil C, C associated with coarse particulate organic matter (CPOM) and fine particulate organic matter plus silt- and clay-sized fractions, and characterized organic matter chemical class composition in soil using high-resolution Fourier-transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry. C4 species were established on soils that supported C3 grassland for 36 years before planting, which allowed us to use differences in the natural abundance of stable C isotopes to quantify C4 plant-derived C. We found that big bluestem had 36.9% higher C4 plant-derived C compared to switchgrass in the CPOM fraction in the 0–10 cm depth, while switchgrass had 60.7% higher C4 plant-derived C compared to big bluestem in the clay fraction in the 10–20 cm depth. Our findings suggest that the large root system in big bluestem helps increase POM-C formation quickly, while switchgrass root structure and chemistry build a mineral-bound clay C pool through time. Thus, both species and cultivar selection can help improve bioenergy management to maximize soil carbon gains and lower CO2 emissions. 相似文献

The dinuclear nickel(II) complex [Ni2L(Cl)]+ (1), where (L)2− represents a 24-membered binucleating hexamine-dithiophenolate ligand, reacts readily with primary and secondary amines RR′NH in the presence of CO2 (1 bar) to give dinuclear monoalkyl- and dialkylcarbamate complexes [Ni2L(O2CNRR′)]+ (R = H, R′ = CH2Ph (2), R = H, R′ = n-Bu (3), R = H, R′ = n-Oct (4), R = H, R′ = CH2CH2OH (5), R = R′ = Et (6), and R = R′ = CH2CH2OH (7)). Complexes 2-7 can also be prepared by the reaction of 1 with CO2(air)/amine. The carbamate complexes are hydrolyzed in methanolic solution to give the known alkylcarbonate complex [Ni2L(O2COMe)]+ (8). These conversions are less rapid than the transesterification reactions of 8, due to a less electron-demanding carboxyl C(carbamate) atom. All new complexes were either isolated as perchlorate or tetraphenylborate salts and fully characterized by elemental analysis, UV/Vis, and IR spectroscopy. The structures of 2[BPh4] and 7[BPh4] have also been determined by X-ray crystallography. They confirm the presence of μ1,3-bridging alkylcarbamate units in the products. 相似文献

Syntheses and crystal structures of tren-based amide, L1, N,N′,N″-tris[(2-amino-ethyl)-4-nitro-benzamide] and L2, N,N′,N″-tris[(2-amino-ethyl)-2-nitro-benzamide] are reported and compared with previously published tripodal amide receptor L3, N,N′,N″-tris[(2-amino-ethyl)-3-nitro-benzamide]. The crystallographic results show intramolecular and intermolecular hydrogen-bonding interactions between two arms of the tripodal receptor and two other adjacent molecules in cases of L1 and L2 whereas in addition to the above interactions an aromatic π···π stacking among tripodal arms is also observed in L3. Receptors L1, L2 and L3 having electron withdrawing -NO2 substituted (para, ortho and meta, respectively) phenyl moieties are explored toward their solution state anion binding properties and selectivity studies. The substantial changes in chemical shifts are observed for the amide protons (-NH) and aromatic protons (-CH) with F− and Cl− in cases of L1 and L3, and only with F− for L2, indicating the participation of -NH and -CH protons in the solution state binding events. Binding constants for the above cases are calculated by 1H NMR titration upon monitoring the -NH signal. Receptor L2 shows exclusive selectivity toward F− in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). The structural aspects of binding I−, ClO4− and SiF62− with the monoprotonated L1, L1H+·I−·DMF (1), L1H+·ClO4−·DMF (2) and L1H+·0.5SiF62−·H2O (3), respectively are examined crystallographically. Anion binding with multiple receptor units is observed via amide N-H···anion as well as aryl C-H···anion hydrogen-bonding interactions in all the complexes as observed in cases of previously reported crystal structures of anionic complexes of protonated L3. The aryl group having nitro functionality that contributes to solution state anion binding with the neutral receptor and solid state coordination in complexes 1-3 through CH···anion interactions is noteworthy. 相似文献

在量子化学计算的基础上,结合目前关于白喉毒素结构与功能的研究状况,选择把白喉毒素催化区的第154位谷氨酸分别突变为天冬氨酸和精氨酸,研究此处电荷性质的改变对生物活性的影响.通过基因定点突变方法制备这两个突变体基因,并在大肠杆菌表达系统中获得高效表达,在此基础上对它们的生物活性进行了评价.结果表明,与重组野生型白喉毒素相比,突变体E154D的整体动物毒性和细胞毒性略有增加,而E154R的毒性下降. 相似文献
