Growing concerns surrounding established and expanding populations of wild pigs (Sus scrofa) have created the need for rapid and accurate surveys of these populations. We conducted surveys of a portion of the wild pig population on Fort Benning, Georgia, to determine if a longer time-lapse interval than had been previously used in surveys of wild pigs would generate similar detection results. We concurrently examined whether use of soured corn at camera sites affected the time necessary for pigs to locate a new camera site or the time pigs remained at a site. Our results suggest that a 9-min time-lapse interval generated dependable detection results for pigs and that soured corn neither attracted pigs to a site any quicker than plain, dry, whole-kernel corn, nor held them at a site longer. Maximization of time-lapse interval should decrease data and processing loads, and use of a simple, available bait should decrease cost and effort associated with more complicated baits; combination of these concepts should increase efficiency of wild pig surveys. © 2011 The Wildlife Society. 相似文献

In woad (Isatis tinctoria), field observations indicated, that after periods of dry sunny weather, indigo yields increased significantly, suggesting that light intensity and quality affected indigo precursor production. Therefore, woad was grown under different light intensities and in the presence or absence of supplementary UV light. In general, plants supplied with more light produced more indigo than those given lesser light. When plants under greater light regimes were transferred to lesser light conditions, then indigo production declined. The opposite was also true, indicating that greater indigo production can be obtained from plants harvested after periods of increased sunlight. 相似文献

The rate of formation of peroxidatically active reaction intermediate(s) via oxidation of the iron(III)-porphyrin complex, deuteroferriheme, with hydrogen peroxide decreases with increasing borate content of mixed borate-carbonate buffer solutions. Studies at pH = 9.25 in 0.035 M borate buffer and 0.035 M carbonate buffer suggest borate to function as an uncompetitive inhibitor. A comparison of slopes and intercepts of double reciprocal plots for inhibited and uninhbited reactions allows calculation of selected parameters for the deuteroferriheme-H2O2 reaction at pH = 9.25 in terms of a typical enzymatic stoichiometric mechanism for heme activity. This includes the Michaelis constant (Km = 8.1 × 10?5 M) and the first-order rate constant for conversion of heme-substrate complex to intermediate(s) (k3 = 7.4 sec?1). A tentative mechanistic model involving reversible interaction of borate inhibitor with heme-substrate complex is considered, and pseudo-first-order rate constants calculated on the basis of this scheme are in reasonable agreement with those obtained experimentally. 利用种皮微形态观察与叶绿体DNA的trnL内含子和trnL-F基因间隔区序列测定分析相结合,对十字花科菘蓝属植物及其相关属种的系统学关系进行了探讨.研究结果表明原属独行菜族的菘蓝属植物,其种皮特征与原属鸟头荠族的舟果荠属植物相似,同属一类型.而与独行菜族的模式属独行菜属植物、大蒜芥族的模式属大蒜芥属植物以及鸟头荠族的模式属鸟头荠属植物种皮微形态差异显著;在基于叶绿体DNA的trnL内含子和trnL-F基因间隔区序列所构建的系统发育树中,菘蓝属植物与舟果荠属植物距离最近,而与独行菜属、大蒜芥属、鸟头荠属植物具有一定的间隔,结合形态特征,本研究认为,菘蓝属与舟果荠属植物具有较近的亲缘关系,而不是同族的独行菜属植物. 相似文献

目的:研究阔叶十大功劳叶与花总黄酮的提取方法和含量测定。方法:比较以索氏提取法、超声波提取法和微波辅助提取法3种方法提取阔叶十大功劳叶与花中总黄酮,用亚硝酸钠-硝酸铝-氢氧化钠比色法测定总黄酮含量。结果:3种提取方法中,微波法提取效率最高,结果重现性好,并测得叶与花中总黄酮含量分别为2.182%和8.155%。结论:阔叶十大功劳总黄酮含量较高,总黄酮在花中的含量明显高于叶。 相似文献

目的:分析菘蓝种子中的脂肪酸。方法:分别利用索氏提取法,运用气相色谱-质谱(GC-MS)联用技术,计算机检索和人工解析对菘蓝种子中的脂肪酸进行分析和鉴定。结果:鉴定了11种脂肪酸成分。结论:菘蓝种子中脂肪酸成分主要是亚麻酸(24.72%)、芥酸(23.9%)、油酸(19.11%)和亚油酸(10.76%)。 相似文献
