The resistance of pathogenic fungi and failure of drug therapy increased dramatically. Numerous studies have reported the individual or synergistic antifungal potency of natural and synthesized flavonoids, especially against drug-resistant fungi. This brief review summarizes the structure and individual or synergistic antifungal activity of natural and synthesized flavonoids (literatures mainly cover the past 10 years 2009–2019), with a special focus on the antifungal spectra, structure–activity relationship and mechanisms of actions. These may contribute to a better understanding of flavonoids as multi-target agents in the treatment of mycoses and provide some ideas on the development of novel flavonoids-based antifungals. 相似文献

Competitive antagonists (CAs) of ionotropic GABA receptors (GABARs) reportedly exhibit insecticidal activity and have potential for development as novel insecticides for overcoming emerging resistance to traditional GABAR-targeting insecticides. Our previous studies demonstrated that 4,5-disubstituted 3-isoxazolols or 3-isothiazolols are an important class of insect GABAR CAs. In the present study, we synthesized a series of 4-aryl-5-carbamoyl-3-isoxazolols and examined their antagonism of insect GABARs expressed in Xenopus oocytes. Several of these 3-isoxazolols exhibited potent antagonistic activities against housefly and common cutworm GABARs, with IC50 values in the low-micromolar range in both receptors. 4-(3-Amino-4-methylphenyl)-5-carbamoyl-3-isoxazolol (3u) displayed the highest antagonism, with IC50 values of 2.0 and 0.9?μM in housefly and common cutworm GABARs, respectively. Most of the synthesized 3-isoxazolols showed moderate larvicidal activities against common cutworms, with more than 50% mortality at 100?μg/g. These results indicate that 4-monocyclic aryl-5-carbamoyl-3-isoxazolol is a promising scaffold for insect GABAR CA discovery and provide important information for the design and development of GABAR-targeting insecticides with a novel mode of action. 相似文献

- The domestic sunflower (Helianthus annuus L. cv. ‘Giganteus’) has been used since the 19th century as a model plant for the study of seedling development in darkness and white light (WL) (scoto‐ versus photomorphogenesis). However, most pertinent studies have focused on the developmental patterns of the hypocotyl and cotyledons, whereas the root system has been largely ignored.
- In this study, we analysed entire sunflower seedlings (root and shoot) and quantified organ development in the above‐ and belowground parts of the organism under natural (non‐sterile) conditions.
- We document that seedlings, raised in moist vermiculite, are covered with methylobacteria, microbes that are known to promote root development in Arabidopsis. Quantitative data revealed that during photomorphogenesis in WL, the root system expands by 90%, whereas stem elongation is inhibited, and hook opening/cotyledon expansion occurs. Root morphogenesis may be mediated via imported sucrose provided by the green, photosynthetically active cotyledons. This hypothesis is supported by the documented effect of sucrose on the induction of lateral root initials in sunflower cuttings. Under these experimental conditions, phytohormones (auxin, cytokinin, brassinolide) exerted little effect on root and cotyledon expansion, and no hormone‐induced initiation of lateral roots was observed.
- It is concluded that sucrose not only acts as an energy source to fuel cell metabolism but is also a shoot‐derived signalling molecule that triggers root morphogenesis.

近10年来,可持续性科学蓬勃发展,已成为21世纪全球普遍关注的一个重要的新科学领域.然而,在大力提倡可持续发展和生态文明建设的中国,可持续性科学尚未引起科学家和实践者的足够重视.为促进可持续性科学在中国的发展,2014年邬建国等曾撰文介绍什么是可持续性科学.本文进一步探讨了这一问题,并补充阐述了可持续性科学与可持续发展研究的关系、可持续性科学的科学范式及其8个基本论题.基于对可持续性科学发展动态的分析,作者认为,一方面,可持续性科学已进入系统推进的成熟发展期;另一方面,虽然我国可持续发展研究、实践与教育的热情高涨,但在可持续性科学领域起步较晚,落后于主要发达国家和南非.为此,本文在文献综述的基础上,提出促进中国发展可持续性科学的“三位一体”策略:一是“请进来”以服务中国实践;二是“走出去”以贡献中国智慧;三是“中西医结合”以引领学科发展. 相似文献

In this investigation, the antibacterial modes of action of Radix Tinosporae, its major single components, and nine antibiotics with different targets or modes-of-action on Staphylococcus aureus were studied. Metabolic profiles of cultures treated with different medicines were acquired by HPLC/ESI-MS. After HPLC-MS data pretreatment, those profiles acquired were reduced into several MS vectors. Then statistical processing by principal components analysis was carried out upon those vectors, two conclusions could be drawn: (1) the antibacterial mode of action of Radix Tinosporae is similar to that of rifampicin and norfloxacin, which act on nucleic acid; (2) its active components playing main antimicrobial roles on Staphylococcus aureus might be alkaloids, such as palmatine and jatrorrhizine. 相似文献

Humans are uniquely endowed with the ability to engage in accurate, high-momentum throwing. Underlying this ability is a unique morphological adaptation that enables the characteristic rotation of the arm and pelvis. What is unknown is whether the psychological mechanisms that accompany the act of throwing are also uniquely human. Here we explore this problem by asking whether free-ranging rhesus monkeys (Macaca mulatta), which lack both the morphological and neural structures to throw, nonetheless recognize the functional properties of throwing. Rhesus not only understand that human throwing represents a threat, but that some aspects of a throwing event are more relevant than others; specifically, rhesus are sensitive to the kinematics, direction and speed of the rotating arm, the direction of the thrower's eye gaze and the object thrown. These results suggest that the capacity to throw did not coevolve with psychological mechanisms that accompany throwing; rather, this capacity may have built upon pre-existing perceptual processes. These results are consistent with a growing body of work showing that non-human animals often exhibit perceptual competencies that do not show up in their motor responses, suggesting evolutionary dissociations between the systems of perception that provide understanding of the world and those that mediate action on the world. 相似文献

Barley α-amylase 1 mutant (AMY) and Lentinula edodes glucoamylase (GLA) were cloned and expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The purified recombinant AMY hydrolyzed corn and wheat starch granules, respectively, at rates 1.7 and 2.5 times that of
GLA under the same reaction conditions. AMY and GLA synergistically enhanced the rate of hydrolysis by ∼3× for corn and wheat
starch granules, compared to the sum of the individual activities. The exo-endo synergism did not change by varying the ratio
of the two enzymes when the total concentration was kept constant. A yield of 4% conversion was obtained after 25 min 37°C
incubation (1 unit total enzyme, 15 mg raw starch granules, pH 5.3). The temperature stability of the enzyme mixtures was
≤50°C, but the initial rate of hydrolysis continued to increase with higher temperatures. Ca++ enhanced the stability of the free enzymes at 50°C incubation. Inhibition was observed with the addition of 10 mM Fe++ or Cu++, while Mg++ and EDTA had lesser effect.

IntroductionIn the compound muscle action potential (M wave) recorded using the belly-tendon configuration, the contribution of the tendon electrode is assumed to be negligible compared to the belly electrode. We tested this assumption by placing the reference electrode at a distant (contralateral) site, which allowed separate recording of the belly and tendon contributions.MethodsM waves were recorded at multiple selected sites over the right quadriceps heads and lower leg using two different locations for the reference electrode: the ipsilateral (right) and contralateral (left) patellar tendon. The general parameters of the M wave (amplitude, area, duration, latency, and frequency) were measured.Results(1) The tendon potential had a small amplitude (<30%) compared to the belly potential; (2) Changing the reference electrode from the ipsilateral to the contralateral patella produced moderate changes in the M wave recorded over the innervation zone, these changes affecting significantly the amplitude of the M−wave second phase (p = 0.006); (3) Using the contralateral reference system allowed recording of short-latency components occurring immediately after the stimulus artefact, which had the same latency and amplitude (p = 0.18 and 0.25, respectively) at all recording sites over the leg.ConclusionsThe potential recorded at the “tendon” site after femoral nerve stimulation is small (compared to the belly potential), but not negligible, and makes a significant contribution to the second phase of belly-tendon M wave. Adopting a distant (contralateral) reference allowed recording of far-field components that may aid in the understanding of the electrical formation of the M wave. 相似文献
