应用电阻测度应变技术,得到镍钛聚髌器这一记忆合金内固定器的应力-应变关系曲线,较为精确地测定了镍钛聚髌器动态聚合加压髌骨于解剖位的生物力学力值,结果表明:镍钛聚髌器可从9个方向产生向心聚合力,纵向为主,记忆加压力值为13.67Kg,侧向为辅,永加压力值为5.19Kg,并具有一定的耐疲劳性。本实验为临床使用及指导病人术后功能锻炼提供了科学的依据,并为研究动态记忆力学下的骨愈合机理提供了实验基础。  相似文献

We formulate and analyze two dynamic energy budget models, a net assimilation model with constant allocation strategy and a net production model with a 2-stage allocation strategy, with the objective of determining strategies that maximize the expected lifetime reproductive energy. The per capita death rate depends on the organisms size, as for example when the main cause of death is predation. In the analysis of the net production model, the size at maturity is calculated along with the probability of reaching that size. We show that a small probability of survival to maturity is incompatible with the simple assumption of an exponential survival probability. We demonstrate that when the hazard rate is significantly greater for small individuals than large ones, it is possible for the optimum strategy to be for an individual to grow to a large size in spite of an arbitrarily small probability of survival to maturity. Numerical simulations indicate how the optimal allocation strategies depend on the parameter values.  相似文献

In order to obtain new insight into the control of balance during arm raising movements in bipedal stance, we performed a biomechanical analysis of kinematics and dynamical aspects of arm raising movements by combining experimental work, large-scale models of the body, and techniques simulating human behavior. A comparison between experimental and simulated joint kinematics showed that the minimum torque change model yielded realistic trajectories. We then performed an analysis based on computer simulations. Since keeping the center of pressure (CoP) and the projection of the center of mass (CoM) inside the support area is essential for equilibrium, we modeled an arm raising movement where displacement of one or the other variable is limited. For this optimization model, the effects of adding equilibrium constraints on movement trajectories were investigated. The results show that: (a) the choice of the regulated variable influences the strategy adopted by the system and (b) the system was not able to regulate the CoM for very fast movements without compromising its balance. Consequently, we suggest that the system is able to maintain balance while raising the arm by only controlling the CoP. This may be done mainly by using hip mechanisms and controlling net ankle torque.  相似文献

Biophysical methods and structural modeling techniques have been used to characterize the prolamins from maize (Zea mays) and pearl millet (Pennisetum americanum). The alcohol-soluble prolamin from maize, called zein, was extracted using a simple protocol and purified by gel filtration in a 70% ethanol solution. Two protein fractions were purified from seed extracts of pearl millet with molecular weights of 25.5 and 7 kDa, as estimated by SDS-PAGE. The high molecular weight protein corresponds to pennisetin, which has a high -helical content both in solution and the solid state, as demonstrated by circular dichroism and Fourier transform infrared spectra. Fluorescence spectroscopy of both fractions indicated changes in the tryptophan microenvironments with increasing water content of the buffer. Low-resolution envelopes of both fractions were retrieved by ab initio procedures from small-angle X-ray scattering data, which yielded maximum molecular dimensions of about 14 nm and 1 nm for pennisetin and the low molecular weight protein, respectively, and similar values were observed by dynamic light scattering experiments. Furthermore, 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of zein and pennisetin do not show any signal below 0.9 ppm, which is compatible with more extended solution structures. The molecular models for zein and pennisetin in solution suggest that both proteins have an elongated molecular structure which is approximately a prolate ellipsoid composed of ribbons of folded -helical segments with a length of about 14 nm, resulting in a structure that permits efficient packing within the seed endosperm.  相似文献

Decontamination of surfaces by lysozyme encapsulated in reverse micelles   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Cells and enzymes can be used to decontaminate soil, water supplies, personal equipment, weapons and hospital equipment that have been exposed to bacteria, toxins or viruses. One of the problems associated with the use of microorganisms and enzymes for decontamination purposes is that the presence of water is not acceptable for some applications such as electronic equipment. One way of circumventing this problem is to allow the enzyme to distribute between a water phase and an organic phase-containing surfactant and then use the encapsulated enzyme in reverse micelles directly into the device to be clean. Reverse micelles were used to deliver the enzyme (lysozyme) to the cell-surface interface. They serve as a way to increase the local concentration of lysozyme and decrease the amount of water delivered. Specifically, we explored the lysis by free lysozyme and lysozyme encapsulated in reverse micelles of Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus epidermidis attached to steel, glass, and hydroxyapatite. These two bacteria have been selected because they are known to be pathogenic and because of their differences in cell wall structure. Lysozyme was added to the surfaces in either reverse micelles or as a free solution and was tested under conditions of stirring and no stirring. Stirring was implemented to study the interplay between mass transfer limitations and surface roughness. We have shown that free lysozyme or lysozyme encapsulated in reverse micelles is capable of decontaminating surfaces of different texture. Lysis of the cells is slower when the encapsulated enzyme is used but lysis is more complete.  相似文献

A mathematical model of the stretch reflex for the cat soleus muscle is presented. The time-delay differential equations of the model are solved using the fourth-order Runge-Kutta algorithm, introducing a Gaussian-noise term to simulate the environmental noise. The muscle response dynamics are then studied under various levels of average muscle activation. Finally, the feasibility of explaining the so-called physiological tremor from the properties of the stretch reflex mechanisms is discussed by comparing our results with reported experimental evidence.  相似文献

Non-invasive longitudinal detection and evaluation of gene expression in living animals can provide investigators with an understanding of the ontogeny of a gene's biological function(s). Currently, mouse model systems are used to optimize magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), and optical imaging modalities to detect gene expression and protein function. These molecular imaging strategies are being developed to assess tumor growth and the tumor microenvironment. In addition, pre-labeling of progenitor cells can provide invaluable information about the developmental lineage of stem cells both in organogenesis and tumorigenesis. The feasibility of this approach has been extensively tested by targeting of endogenous tumor cell receptors with labeled ligand (or ligand analog) reporters and targeting enzymes with labeled substrate (or substrate analog). We will primarily discuss MRI, PET, and SPECT imaging of cell surface receptors and the feasibility of non-invasive imaging of gene expression using the tumor microenvironment (e.g., hypoxia) as a conditional regulator of gene expression.  相似文献

A biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) sensor, based on an immobilised mixed culture of microorganisms in combination with a dissolved oxygen electrode, has been developed for the purpose of on-line monitoring of the biological treatment process for waste and wastewater. The sensor was designed for easy replacement of the biomembrane, thereby making it suitable for short-term use. The drawbacks of activated sludge based sensor, such as short sensor lifetime, were thereby circumvented. The sensor BOD measurements were carried out in the kinetic mode using a flow injection system, resulting in 25 s for one measurement followed by 4–8 min recovery time. Based on the results of normalised sensor responses, the OECD synthetic wastewater was considered to be a more suitable calibration solution in comparison with the GGA solution. Good agreement was achieved between the results of the sensor BOD measurement and those obtained from BOD5 analysis of a wastewater sample from a food-processing factory. Reproducibility of responses using one sensor was below ±5.6% standard deviation. Reproducibility of responses using different sensors was within acceptable bias limits, viz. ±15% standard deviation.  相似文献

Organisations such as the Marine Control Pollution Unit of the Department of Transport are at present testing the suitability of burial and landfarming of oily residues in sandy coastal environments as an alternative to landfill sites. The tendency for oil related compounds to sorb to sediments has been extensively investigated, but this has not permitted the 'observation' or measurement of advection/diffusion processes or the breakdown of these compounds within sediments.MRI, which is a multidimensional technique allowing the position of nuclei (most commonly protons) to be charted within a volume, provides a means of monitoring advection and diffusion of oil within sediments, thus offering a method of assessing the harming potential of oils in near-shore environments. A three dimensional MRI analysis of the movement of oil in an organic substrate and in three related estuarine sediments show that, using appropriate parameters, movement of the oil can be both observed and quantified. The results presented in terms of the % change of oil distribution within each sediment sample, show the great potential of MRI in studying protonated contaminants in these materials.  相似文献
