Two radiometers measuring reflectance factors have been used at a height of 1.50 m above some grasslands in C. France. The results show that both spectral data are sensitive to the photosynthetic activity of the grassland. Measurements made in April, May, June and July show that grasslands have quite different spectral behaviour according to soil conditions or to grazing level. Grasslands on dry or wet soils may be separated from those of normal soils for which overgrazing and trampling affecting the growth of species, are shown by the different spectral values. The chlorophyll recovery efficiency was compared between control, ground, and sonified samples. The results showed significant improvement between control and ground samples but not between control and sonified samples. Neither prolonging time of sonification nor using an ice bath during filter grinding improved efficiency. Higher chlorophyll a recovery was obtained from ground samples than from sonified ones, when the water samples contained centric diatoms and filamentous blue-green algae. The Benzodiazepine/GABA Receptor Complex: Molecular Size in Brain Synaptic Membranes and in Solution 总被引:9,自引:7,他引:2
Abstract: The molecular size of the benzodiazepine (BZ) receptor in the synaptic membrane of brain cortex (bovine or rat) was determined by an improved version of the radiation inactivation method to be 220,000. An identical size was found simultaneously for the associated γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor and for the component binding β-carboline esters. It is proposed that all three activities reside in a single protein or protein complex in the membrane. The size in solution, after extraction into Triton X-100 medium from exhaustively washed membranes, was estimated by sedimentation constant (9.4S) and by gel filtration (∼230,000 apparent MW), again with the BZ and GABA binding activities behaving identically. This size applies to the component that undergoes photoaffinity labelling by [3 H]flunitrazepam in the membrane, and contains a 51,000 Mr polypeptide as the BZ-binding subunit. It is concluded that a protein complex or oligomer of 200,000–220,000 MW carries a class of BZ-binding sites and an associated class of GABAA sites. 相似文献

The flights of free and tethered Locusta migratoria were followed from initiation with a high-speed film camera. A longer sequence of wing-beat cycles can thus be correlated unequivocally with the animals's movement in time and space. In both flight situations the locusts start with approximately the same instantaneous wing-beat frequency. During the early flight phase free-flying animals increase their wing-beat frequency, whereas for tethered locusts this parameter remains constant or even decreases. The general flight pattern is similar in juvenile and mature locusts; the juveniles however, fly with alower wing-beat frequency and flight speed. The differences in the wing-beat frequencies for both flight performances are discussed with respect to differences in the sensory inputs to the flight motor centre. 相似文献

Summary Transepithelial current fluctuations were recorded inNecturus gallbladder, clamped at negative as well as positive potentials up to 64 mV. With NaCl-Ringer's (+10mm TAP) on both sides a mucosa-negative potential enhanced the relaxation noise component, present at zero potential, and produced peaking in the power spectrum at potentials above –36mV. Concomitantly at these potentials an inductive as well as a capacitive low-frequency feature appeared in the impedance locus. Clamping at positive potentials of 18 mV suppressed the relaxation noise component. At potentials above 51mV the spectral values increased predominantly at low frequencies. In this case the power spectrum showed only a 1/f
noise component. The experiments confirm the previous finding that a K+ efflux through fluctuating apical K+ channels exists under normal conditions. With serosal KCl-Ringer's the initial Lorentzian component was enhanced at negative but suppressed at positive potentials. The increase at negative potentials was less pronounced than in experiments with NaCl-Ringer's on both sides, indicating saturation of the fluctuating K+ current component. With mucosal KCl-Ringer's a negative potential depressed the initial relaxation noise component, whereas it was enhanced at +18 mV clamp potential. In the latter case an additional Lorentzian component became apparent at higher frequencies. At potentials of 36 mV and above the low-frequency Lorentzian disappeared whereas the corner frequency of the high-frequency component increased. The latter experiments demonstrate that the relaxation noise component inNecturus gallbladder consists of two superimposed Lorentzians. As the relaxation times of these two components behave differently under an electrical field, there may exist two different types of K+ channels. It is demonstrated that peaking in the plateau of power spectra can be explained by frequency-dependent attenuation effects, caused by a polarization impedance. 相似文献

To identify the chromosome carrying the factor for resistance to Meloidogyne incognita in tobacco, crosses were made between resistant tobacco ''NC95'' as pollen parent and each of the 12 tobacco monosomics (A-L) representative of the Tomentosae half of the Nicotiana tabacum chromosome complement. Of the F₁ seedlings, 927 plants were grown for observation. From these, 223 plants were selected as possible monosomics on the basis of morphological characteristics. These plants were self-pollinated, and the resulting F₂ plants were inoculated with both M. incognita acrita and M. incognita incognita. Sixteen F₂ populations, derived from the haplo-G monosome, were completely resistant. All of the F₂ populations derived from the other 11 monosomic crosses segregated into a 3:1 (resistant:susceptible) ratio. These results indicate that the factor for resistance to M. incognita is located on the G chromosome of N. tabacum. This is the first report establishing the N. tabacum chromosome that carries the factor for root-knot resistance. The results are consistant with our earlier evidence that M. incognita resistance in tobacco is derived from N. tomentosa, a species in the section Tomentosae of the subgenus Tabacum, genus Nicotiana. The other 12 chromosomes of N. tabacum have affinities with N. sylvestris, section Alatae, subgenus Petunoides, genus Nicotiana. 相似文献

A biochemical microassay developed by Kissinger and co-workers and a histofluorescence technique for cellular demonstration of biogenic monoamines developed earlier by Falck and co-workers were used.
