The exocyst complex tethers post‐Golgi secretory vesicles to the plasma membrane prior to docking and fusion. In this study, we identify Sec3, the missing component of the Schizosaccharomyces pombe exocyst complex (SpSec3). SpSec3 shares many properties with its orthologs, and its mutants are rescued by human Sec3/EXOC1. Although involved in exocytosis, SpSec3 does not appear to mark the site of exocyst complex assembly at the plasma membrane. It does, however, mark the sites of actin cytoskeleton recruitment and controls the organization of all three yeast actin structures: the actin cables, endocytic actin patches and actomyosin ring. Specifically, SpSec3 physically interacts with For3 and sec3 mutants have no actin cables as a result of a failure to polarize this nucleating formin. SpSec3 also interacts with actin patch components and sec3 mutants have depolarized actin patches of reduced endocytic capacity. Finally, the constriction and disassembly of the cytokinetic actomyosin ring is compromised in these sec3 mutant cells. We propose that a role of SpSec3 is to spatially couple actin machineries and their independently polarized regulators. As a consequence of its dual role in secretion and actin organization, Sec3 appears as a major co‐ordinator of cell morphology in fission yeast .  相似文献

A new species of the genus Crassolabium, Crassolabium persicumsp. n., collected from Arasbaran rangelands of Iran, is described and illustrated. It is characterized by its body 1.92-2.40 mm long, lip region offset by constriction and 17-19 μm wide, odontostyle 16-19 μm long with aperture occupying less than one-third (27-30%) its length, neck 428-690 μm long, pharyngeal expansion 369-390 μm long or occupying 54-56% of total neck length, female genital system amphidelphic, uterus bipartite and 162-218 μm long or 2.3-3.5 times as long as body diameter, pars refringens vaginae well developed, V = 54-57.5, vulva longitudinal, prerectum bearing a blind sac, tail conical with rounded tip to conoid (25-36 μm, c=60-69, c'=0.5-0.9), spicules 68-72 μm long, precloacal pair of supplements far (22-27 μm) from cloacal aperture, and 13-17 shortly spaced ventromedian supplements with hiatus. The new taxon is compared in depth to its relatives in Crassolabium as well as other similar species of Aporcelaimellus and Amblydorylaimus.  相似文献

External and internal head structures of the mantodean Hymenopus coronatus are examined and described in detail. The results are elaborately compared with the literature. Strong crests on the anterior tentorial arms that articulate with the subantennal suture, a parietal suture and glossae and paraglossae with anteriorly bent tips are proposed as new potential apomorphies for Mantodea while a head capsule being wider than long, enlarged compound eyes, the presence of a frontal shield or scutellum, lateral lobes in the anterior tentorial arms, the presence of a transverse and an interantennal suture and the reduction of the mentum are confirmed as apomorphies, As potential apomorphies for Dictyoptera the reduction of Musculus tentoriobuccalis lateralis (M. 49) is newly presented and a “perforate” tentorium, lacinial incisivi that are located in a galeal pouch and the presence of a postmola are confirmed. The present study shows the value of cephalic morphology for phylogenetic analysis but also points out that further studies including evolutionary key taxa are essential for resolving the evolutionary adaptations among dictyopterans.  相似文献

Carnivorous pitcher plants of the genus Nepenthes have evolved a great diversity of pitcher morphologies. Selective pressures for maximizing nutrient uptake have driven speciation and diversification of the genus in a process known as adaptive radiation. This leads to the evolution of pitchers adapted to specific and often bizarre source of nutrients, which are not strictly animal-derived. One example is Nepenthes ampullaria with unusual growth pattern and pitcher morphology what enables the plant to capture a leaf litter from the canopy above. We showed that the plant benefits from nitrogen uptake by increased rate of photosynthesis and growth what may provide competitive advantage over others co-habiting plants. A possible impact of such specialization toward hybridization, an important mechanism in speciation, is discussed.  相似文献

本文对华南地区主要的19科31种作物和蔬果类花粉进行了形态学研究,包括镜下观察、拍照和特征描述与对比。本研究涉及的花粉包括粮食作物4种,蔬菜类16种,水果类8种,油料和经济作物3种等。结果表明,不同作物的花粉在形态、大小、萌发器官和外壁纹饰等方面有明显的差别,同一科植物花粉的主要形态虽有相似之处,但根据某些细微结构特征,并通过统计学方法在一定程度上可以对相近的种类进行区别。本文对十字花科芸苔属4种蔬菜花粉(油菜、芥菜、菜心和小白菜)的扁率(赤道轴长/极轴长)以及外壁网眼长轴长度分别进行测量,发现外壁网眼长轴长度对于4种蔬菜的区分不明显,而扁率则分异显著,可为十字花科花粉种属判别提供依据。对重庆阿蓬江涪碛口遗址剖面中自明清时期以来的伴人植物十字花科花粉赤道轴长与外壁网眼长轴长度进行了测量,判别出文化层中的十字花科花粉可能为菜心类型。稻田中保存的水稻花粉直径约为34—38μm,结合水稻花粉的其它特征可以应用到全新世地层的水稻花粉鉴定。  相似文献
