Spatial distributions of individuals may be considered in two ways: Firstly, individuals are situated on a continuum. Secondly, individuals are situated on discrete units, for example, insect eggs on plants. The aim of this paper is to show that sometimes, in the latter case, sampling methods based on infestation runs can be of interest in estimating population density. Analytical results are obtained under complete spatial randomness hypothesis and alternative hypotheses. Sampling procedures with limited cost are discussed and the European corn borer (ECB) case is mainly considered.  相似文献

为了高效、经济、环保地解决华北平原地区玉米秸秆处置问题并寻求有效途径,该研究以玉米秸秆为原料,采用限氧裂解法在不同温度(200℃、300℃、400℃、500℃)下制备生物炭,并对生物炭的热解动力学、结构形貌、元素组成、比表面积、孔径分布、官能团等理化特征进行了分析表征。结果表明:不同裂解温度制备的生物炭具有不同的差热曲线,其官能团的组成也存在差异,这表明了样品中不同生物质的热解反应过程。随着热解温度的升高,生物炭产率、氢和氧含量下降,同时H/C和(O+N)/C比值也降低,而碳和氮含量却升高,说明生物炭芳香性增强,亲水性和极性减弱,性质趋于稳定。生物炭热重曲线和差热曲线分为三个过程,热解温度高时失重比例低,曲线趋向平缓。生物炭的比表面积、微孔比表面积、中孔体积和微孔体积随着热解温度的升高而增大,但最可几孔径却减小,吸附能力增强。综上所述,400℃的温度制备生物炭,其产率相对较高、结构最稳定、吸附性能最佳,有助于最大程序的利用农业废弃物资源、降低耗能,提高农产品附加值。  相似文献

 The objective of this study was to determine the genetic basis of resistance to maize mosaic virus (MMV). Molecular markers were used to map resistance loci to MMV in a set of 91 maize (Zea mays L.) recombinant inbred lines (RILs), derived from the cross between Hi31 (a B68 conversion resistant to MMV) and Kil4 (a Thai inbred susceptible to MMV). The RILs were evaluated for MMV resistance in disease nurseries in Hawaii in the winter of 1993 and the summer of 1994. Twenty-eight highly susceptible RILs were chosen for gene mapping using the pooled-sampling approach. Initial evidence from the pooled DNA indicated that restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) probes on chromosome 3 near the centromere were biased to the susceptible parent allele. Analysis of 91 RILs at 103 RFLP loci confirmed the presence of a major MMV resistance gene on chromosome 3. The resistant allele at this locus, previously named Mv1, is present in the resistant parent Hi31 and traces back to the Argentine parent used in conferring common rust resistance to B68. We conclude that resistance to MMV in B68 and Caribbean flints involves a major gene mv1 on chromosome 3 located between RFLP markers umc102 and php20508. Per os inoculations of 4- to 6-day-old larvae of the corn earworm, Heliothis zea, with suspensions containing 106 spores of Nosema acridophagus or 104, 105, and 106 spores of Nosema cuneatum retarded the growth and development of the larvae. Migratory grasshoppers, Melanoplus sanguinipes, inoculated with N. acridophagus produced fewer spores than similarly inoculated corn earworms, but spore production was similar in these insects when they were inoculated with N. cuneatum. Standard bioassay procedures showed that spores of both microsporidians were some-what more virulent when they were produced in corn earworms than when they were produced in grasshoppers. Spores of these microsporidians might be produced more efficiently in corn earworm larvae than in grasshoppers.  相似文献

Abstract:  The Western Corn Rootworm, Diabrotica virgifera virgifera LeConte (Col., Chrysomelidae), is an invasive alien pest of maize, Zea mays , in Europe. The suitability of 14 fluorescent powders for mass-marking the adults was studied in laboratory and in field cages. The visual discrimination between remaining spots of each colour on the beetles was investigated under ultraviolet (UV) light, as well as their retention time and the influences of those colours on the beetle survival and flight take-off response. The two best recognizable orange colours (i.e. of Radiant Colour and of Fiesta Colours Swada) were proposed for field experiments in first priority, followed by an orange and a yellow (both Magruder Colour), another yellow (Fiesta) and a pink (Radiant), as all did not affect beetle survival and flight take-off response and were recognizable under UV light for at least 10 days in the field. In contrast, the colours yellow and green (Radiant), red and blue (Magruder), yellow (Ciba Geigy) and pink (Fiesta) were unsuitable, because they either quickly disappeared from the beetles or adversely affected beetle survival or flight take-off response. For mass releases with differently marked beetles, only the use of a single orange colour together with a single yellow colour or the use of a pink colour together with a yellow colour can be used since few spots can clearly be discriminated from each other under UV light.  相似文献

Food utilization by adults of the invasive maize (Zea mays L.) (Poaceae) pest western corn rootworm (WCR; Diabrotica virgifera virgifera LeConte) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) was investigated in the south‐eastern part of its new European distribution range. At weekly intervals over a 10‐week period, 10 beetles per field were collected from six fields that had a high abundance of flowering weeds and six fields with a low abundance of flowering weeds, with the aim of understanding adult feeding behaviour in Europe and comparing this behaviour with North American WCR. Gut content analysis was performed to determine the use of maize tissue and weed pollen with regard to maize phenology. Furthermore, all pollen found within the gut was quantified and identified to plant species level. The use of maize tissue by adult WCR changed over time according to maize phenology. Pollen originating from plants other than maize was used more frequently as the maize matured. Adults fed on pollen from 19 of 25 different plant species found in maize fields and showed a preference for the pollen of specific weeds. Pollen from weed species was found more often in beetles from fields with a high abundance of weeds compared to beetles from fields with a low abundance of weeds. Females consumed greater amounts of pollen than males, the latter feeding on a wider diversity of host plants. The pollen resources used by adult WCR in Hungary were more diverse compared to WCR in the USA, which may contribute to the invasion success of WCR in Europe.  相似文献

Rates of reproduction of root-knot nematodes on corn varied with Meloidogyne species, with different populations of certain species, and with corn cultivars. M. arenaria, M. incognita and M. javanica reproduced at varying rates on all corn cultivars tested. None of the three selections of M. hapla reproduced on corn. Most of the Meloidogyne populations increased more rapidly on ''Coker'' and ''Pioneer'' hybrids than on ''McNair'' hybrids or on open-pollinated varieties or inbreds. Nematodes often reduced root growth, but the differences within given nematode-cultivar treatments were not usually significant. Root growth of ''Coker 911,'' which supported a high rate of reproduction, was affected less than ''Pioneer 309B'' which supported a low rate of nematode reproduction.  相似文献

Quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for resistance to the fungal pathogen Setosphaeria turcica, the cause of northern corn leaf blight (NCLB), were mapped in a population of 220 F3 families derived from a cross between two moderately resistant European inbred lines, D32 (dent) and D145 (flint). The population was genotyped with 87 RFLP and 7 SSR markers. Trials were conducted in the field in Switzerland, and in the greenhouse with selected F3 families in Germany. The F3 population segregated widely for resistance with transgression of the parents. By composite interval mapping, a total of 13 QTLs were detected with two disease ratings (0 and 3 weeks after flowering). Together these QTLs explained 48% and 62% of the phenotypic variation. Gene action at most QTLs was partially dominant. Eight out of the 13 QTL alleles for resistance were contributed by the more-resistant parent, D145. On chromosomes 3, 5 and 8, QTLs were located in the same chromosomal regions as QTLs in tropical and U.S. Corn Belt germplasm. Some QTLs affected NCLB, head smut and common rust at the same time, with alleles at these loci acting isodirectionally. Received: 25 January 1999 / Accepted: 20 Februar 1999  相似文献
