The distribution of allergenic mites, Dermatophagoides farinae and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus, was surveyed among public facilities in Japan, in order to assess the risk of people, including allergic patients, being exposed to mite allergens outside homes. Dust samples were collected using a vacuum cleaner from bedclothes, floors and other materials in four hospitals, two hotels, two ryokans, one film theatre and four office buildings. Fine dust fractions of these samples were examined for mite antigens by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Overall, clinically important antigen levels of 50 g m–2 (corresponding to approximately 500 mites m–2) or more were detected in 71% of samples from chairs in a film theatre and 42% of samples from tatami and carpet floors of ryokans, whereas such serious mite contamination was not observed in samples from hospitals, hotels and offices. High mean antigen levels were observed in chairs in a film theatre (98.2 g m–2) and floors of ryokans (81.4 g m–2), whereas samples from other facilities showed mean antigen levels of <11 g m–2. Hospitals had individual antigen levels of 50 g m–2 in 2% of mattresses and 5% of painted and tiled floors but not in comforters, futons and pillows. No samples obtained from bedclothes in hotels and ryokans had antigen levels of 50 g m–2. In office buildings where the air was fully controlled by a central air-conditioning system all the year round, 99% of samples showed low antigen levels of <10 g m–2. © Rapid Science Ltd. 1998  相似文献

A composting experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of a hyperlignocellulolytic fungal consortium and different nitrogen amendments on paddy straw composting in terms of changes in physicochemical and biological parameters. A fungal consortium comprising four lignocellulolytic mesophilic fungal cultures was used as inoculum for bioaugmentation of paddy straw in perforated pits. The comparative effect of farmyard manure (FYM), soybean trash, poultry litter and urea on the composting process was evaluated at monthly intervals in terms of physicochemical (pH, EC, available P, C:N ratio and humus content) and biological (enzymatic and microbial activity) parameters. The compost prepared from bioaugmented paddy straw composting mixture, with poultry manure as nitrogen supplement attained desirable C:N ratio in 1 month and displayed least phytotoxicity levels along with higher production of β-1,4-Exoglucanase. The combined activity of the autochthonous composting microbiota as well as the externally applied fungal inoculum accelerated the composting process of paddy straw. Supplementation of paddy straw with poultry manure in 8:1 ratio was identified as the best treatment to hasten the composting process. This study highlights the importance of application of fungal inoculum and an appropriate N-amendment such as poultry manure for preparation of compost using a substrate having high C:N ratio, such as paddy straw.  相似文献

Comparative analyses of bacterial community successions in the composting materials were done for a conventional windrow post-treatment (WPOT) process with the hyperthermophilic pre-treatment (HTPRT) and simple windrow composting (SWC; without the HTPRT). Multidimensional scaling profiles based on data of terminal restriction fragment length polymorphisms of the bacterial population in the samples of every 7 days composting material and analyses of the 16S rRNA gene-based clone library of the 7 and 21 days composting materials suggested that bacterial communities of the composting materials differed much between these two processes until the 35 days of composting, whereas that they were closely related to each other at the final composting stage (42 days of composting). Detailed phylogenetic analysis clarified that all WPOT clone libraries contained many clones of the lineages of aerobic bacteria (for example, bacilli). However, the most abundant clones retrieved from all SWC materials were affiliated with a clone cluster closely related to identified and classified members of the phylum Firmicutes that have strictly anaerobic metabolism pathways. From these results, we conclude that the HTPRT process contributed to easily establish an aerobic ecosystem from the early stage to the final stage of WPOT composting with plowing the materials only once a week.  相似文献

随着四环素类抗生素在畜禽养殖中的广泛应用,畜禽粪便已成为四环素类抗生素和抗性基因的重要富集位点,其未经处理直接施用具有潜在的生态环境和人类健康风险。堆肥化处理可有效消减畜禽粪便中的四环素类抗生素,并且对抗性基因的扩散和传播具有一定的控制效果。本综述比较了不同的堆肥化工艺对粪肥中四环素类抗生素消减的效果,并重点讨论了其微生物降解机理,总结了堆肥化处理对粪肥中四环素抗性基因消减的研究进展,进一步讨论了堆肥化处理过程中抗性基因变化的微生态机理与控制策略,最后提出了采用热水解等预处理工艺去除抗生素压力和采用厌氧堆肥化工艺增强抗性基因控制的技术建议,以及从动态的角度采用高通量的检测技术来解析抗性基因消减机制的研究策略建议。  相似文献

Composting of goat dung mixed with lime, soil, Napier grass or urea was followed by monitoring the C:N (w/w) ratio of the substrate, temperature, pH, moisture content, water-holding capacity, weight loss and mineral content. Equilibration to 24°C took between 90 and 120 days, the dung with Napier grass or urea composting fastest. Napier grass addition was also beneficial in decreasing loss of C and PO inf4 sup-3 and increasing N content. The most active region of the compost was 10 to 30 cm from the base of the heap. Depletion of C, PO inf4 sup-3 and K+ occurred during all compostings but varied among the treatments. The moisture content in the substrate remained between 34% and 73% (w/w) for all treatments, while the water-holding capacity averaged 100% to 150%. The average weight loss of substrate was between 55 to 84%. An integrated model for the composting process was developed. The structure of the model is such that it can be implemented in any mixture of different substrates, even in the case of co-composting of a solid waste with industrial wastewater. This paper presents a mathematical formulation of the physicochemical and biological principles that govern the composting process. The model of the co-composting ecosystem included mass transfer, heat transfer and biological processes. The biological processes included in the model were hydrolysis of particulate substrates, microbial growth and death. Two microbial populations (bacteria and fungi) were selected using Monod kinetics. Growth limiting functions of inhibitory factors, moisture and dissolved oxygen were added in the Monod kinetics. The bacteria were considered to utilise the easy biodegradable carbon hydrolysis product, fungi the difficult one, while both could degrade the carbon of wastewater. The mass balances of the most important nutrients, nitrogen and phosphorous, were also included in this approach. Model computer simulations provided results that fitted satisfactory the experimental data. Conclusively, the model could be a useful tool for the prediction of the co-composting process performance in the future and could be used to assist in the operation of co-composting plants.  相似文献

In 1987 a second group of lowland gorillas was formed at Apenheul. Aspects of the zoo-technical management (diet, accommodation, etc.) are described. The management and the development of the population, including mother-rearing of all offspring, are described. Special attention is given to the formation of a second group by introducing two zoo-born females and a non-breeding female from one group to a nonrelated male to form a second group. These transfers of group members resulted rather quickly in pregnancies. The two groups are housed on adjacent islands, and the advantages and disadvantages of such a facility are discussed.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to provide a quantitative assessment of the spatial placement characteristics of temporary disaster relief facilities that were built after the Sewol ferry disaster. Among space syntax analysis indicators, we selected control value, global real relation asymmetry (RRA), local RRA, and intelligibility to use in this study. We also assessed each relief facility's accessibility by facility type and use of spatial openness. As a result of our analysis of 193 relief facilities that were classified into 9 facility types, we discovered that the types requiring control over who could access them due to their facility characteristics had RRA values confirming that such facilities used space appropriately. Furthermore, most of the facility types, including the types needing openness or awareness, showed results that were appropriate for each assessment indicator. Our study is the first to examine relief facilities, whose placements are often temporary and expedient in response to large-scale disasters, with the lens of spatial characteristics analysis. The assessment methodology used in this study can be generalized, applied regardless of region, and used as a placement plan for future temporary relief facilities.  相似文献

In a bid to identify suitable microbial indicators of compost stability, the process evolution during windrow composting of poultry manure (PM), green waste (GW) and biowaste was studied. Treatments were monitored with regard to abiotic factors, respiration activity (determined using the SOUR test) and functional microflora. The composting process went through typical changes in temperature, moisture content and microbial properties, despite the inherent feedstock differences. Nitrobacter and pathogen indicators varied as a monotonous function of processing time. Some microbial groups have shown a potential to serve as fingerprints of the different process stages, but still they should be examined in context with respirometric tests and abiotic parameters. Respiration activity reflected well the process stage, verifying the value of respirometric tests to access compost stability. SOUR values below 1 mg O2/g VS/h were achieved for the PM and the GW compost.  相似文献
